1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is FTC / FC dead? on: May 10, 2013, 12:10:24 PM
Just ask, does the new coin have any worth while new features that will make it more useful as a currency.
The people on the bottom of the pyramid of these coins will catch on one day.

- "why is my x miner not working" You can only mine with the built in CPU miner in the client because the algorythm has been modified from previous scrypt coins
- "I see transactions in the client but I have no coins" - these are orphans
- "Why are there so many orphans?" Because of the (again) stupidly low difficulty, blocks are being solved way too fast, so when your client solves a block, a bunch of other people have most likely solved it around the same time you did, but someone else beat you to claiming it.
type 'listtransactions' in the console
- "There have been so many coins mined, why is everyone saying they are getting nothing" people who know what they are doing aren't posting here / some quick coder(s), have modified a GPU miner to be compatible / the creator had a gpu miner ready before launch
- "How do I mine" / "Where is the download" go to page one
- "Where should I send YAC coins" - here Y4Fx6HDeMYvJ27bKzCv4jjsEL1CwyPm3Tc

From Noyvpom's siggy:
Quote from: noyvpom
If your new altcoin started with low difficulty and is a copy of another coin with no revolutionary features, it has no purpose but to make a few people a bit richer.

It appears I'm one of those few people

FOR ONCE.
 Grin

I missed out on this one Smiley I'm sure the next GPU open one will be along in a couple of days!
Send me some YAC haha and make sure to sell before it crashes!

Can't believe people are buying at 1 BTC for 1000 YAC.

CNC was going 1 BTC for 10,000 at start.

Hype is a powerful thing

Pyramid schemes and greed are a powerful things

Can somebody help me to cofigure this

Read the thread, the whole scam is that you can't mine this coin atm with anything but the client itself.

CPU-like version of NovaCoin... I like this. If difficulty will grow slowly, there will be 500-600k coins at the end of this month.

There have been 9000 blocks mined already, at 80 coins per block thats 720K mined already in the last few hours.
Grow slowly? hahaha! Slowly until someone modifies a GPU miner and rapes the blockchain.

EDIT: 780k mined. Also how many total are there going to be
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. START is now. on: May 08, 2013, 10:50:02 AM
another coin released with stupid low difficulty.
By my calc there have been around 700K coins mined in about 4 hours, how many total coins will there be? The git page says 2 billion, but it also says "NovaCoin official development tree" ha
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. START is now. on: May 08, 2013, 10:06:09 AM
LOL, this is the worst coin yet, just seen it finally got released, started mining, there were 38 blocks in the last 60 seconds.
Wait for the first coder to modify his GPU miner!
Ridiculous
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: May 08, 2013, 09:52:14 AM
OK I think found the problem? I had forwarded the port in my router, but I updated the rule from the one I had for QQBcoin, and only changed the internal port! So my router was forwarding BBQcoin stuff from the external port 59333 to the smallchange client! People must still have had my IP in the bbq network and were trying to connect to me.
This explains a lot, why my blockchain kept thinking it was much larger, the 60+ connections etc. I wonder if I mined any BBQcoins to my smallchange address!? haha!

Too many coins, doh!
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: May 08, 2013, 09:03:57 AM
Strange, I'm pretty sure if said it had ~60 connections
To me it seems impossible. I never got more than ~10 connections with SMC, typically 6~8.
Considering that in the last couple of days there has been a max. total of ~15 active clients, 60 connections are unlikely. Sure it has been SMC and not some other coin?

noyvpom  suddenly realizes he has 2000 Bitbars...

If I had 2000 BTB I'd change that straight to BTC in a second! But something is strange, I definitly had ~50+ connections at one point. Now I started my client, it says it's at 24% downloading 89010 / 348690 blocks!
It also says I have 521 transactions, but only ~1k coins. (all transactions except 3 are mining ones)

Is it possible its connecting to another coin network somehow and getting confused?

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: May 07, 2013, 12:07:54 PM
Someone just sent me 1.234 coins, so I guess I'm on the correct blockchain, and things are working now. (although I went to send the 1.234 back, but the from address is 'unknown'?)

To me it seems impossible. I never got more than ~10 connections with SMC, typically 6~8.

You are limited to 8 connections if you are behind NAT, but if you forward the ports like I have,  it will go up to, I think, 125. I have 40 atm (I set it to 1024 in the conf on another coin once to see how many I could get, but that just crashed the client Smiley
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: May 07, 2013, 10:06:17 AM
Strange, I'm pretty sure if said it had ~60 connections, surely it's not possible to mine the block chain on your own, without confirming it with an actual network!? Is that client still up to date?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: May 07, 2013, 09:23:40 AM
Mined 2K coins, restarted client, and it was all of a sudden 4000 blocks behind, and balance 500 coins, and not syncing, is the block chain forked / f**ked? (I do realise this was just a test / wasted effort! just wondering whats up!?)
my address is SFNcmSMm4hz1GjEgWUzRhYsQEkJNn41QtA, and client is the pre-compiled windows binary (v0.6.3.0-g6261cf7-beta) is there any block explorer?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: May 07, 2013, 08:38:05 AM
Why is the diff dropping so much?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is still holding on to their CNC and why? on: May 07, 2013, 03:15:55 AM
I'm still bullish. Sold off enough to 'break even' at around 0.0035 and still sitting on 30k+ for the long haul. Either it will stagnate around 0.20-0.30 in a day or so, or it will take off. I don't see it going 'away' anytime soon with China just now becoming seriously interested in crypto currency. I can see if becoming the 'LTC of the far east' and if so, having a position is always nice if you are willing to take some risk.

Why do people keep implying the Chinese will favor a random new clone-coin over well established ones just because it has China in the name?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is still holding on to their CNC and why? on: May 07, 2013, 03:13:08 AM
I don't use BTC-e anyway, I signed up with a throwaway email address, and then they stopped letting you log in with your username, email only, with no support. Bye bye BTCe
You're an idiot for using a throwaway with a website that handles money. BTCe changing to email addresses for login was a good security move.

I would be an idiot if I used a throwaway email for a website that handles money... If I had any currency in it that is
I'd be an idiot for putting a real email address into a sites email database that I hadn't used yet
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SELLING 10k CNC for 750 BTC on: May 07, 2013, 03:06:05 AM
It only started too high, it's not dying.
If China buys, it's all over for LTC, FTC, PPC, etc...

You do know the Chinese can use BTC and LTC, just like everyone else? They are not limited to a pump and dump coin just because its got China in the name...

I just got up, looks like; one reply from OP saying he is late, link to random and probably old source and no binarys, this about where we are at?
