wow that's weird, I am solo mining, why am I all of a sudden getting all these little .03 payouts from 'mined'!?

When is next difficulty re targeting? this should push the blocks closer to 60 seconds?
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 02:27:44 PM
I'm solo mining at the moment, and I've got 9 rejected and 0 accepted. Is this normal with a new coin? Or is my miner configured improperly? I'm using the same settings that I use for mining other scrypt based coins, but that was on P2Pool rather than solo mining. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Anyone?

AFAIK, they are rejected because other people get there before you, this is because new blocks are being created every 2 seconds. This is what I guess is happening anyway.

I have been at it since just after this thread started and have hundreds of rejects and just now hit my second block.

Were tying to figure out how a buddy of mine got over 300,000 coins last night and I got 10,000 I have more hashing power and faster/lower latency internet anyone have ideas?

300k would be like 1/6 of all the coins? hmmm. If he wants to sell some I buy 20K China for 20 LTC

Nope pool not connecting, and its 2am here. Ill leave it on, I never tried before but hopefully cgminer failover works Smiley

I dont see how a pool can solve latency problems? Just another step to the network, surley it would increase rejected late shares?
I'm getting such pool results solo that I'm going to give it a try tho!

what about pool hosted on server near or in china? could that help?

I solve block, send to china pool, say 300ms, china pool sends to network 1ms still ~300ms, in that time people hashing with an actual low latency already claimed the block. This is how I would think it would work in my head. with these 2 second blocks 300ms is a huge margin (compared to BTC where it is inconsequential)

Nevermind, I see the first post lists the block time as 60 seconds, so I assume the crazy 2 second blocks will slow down when the diff re-adjusts?
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 01:25:48 PM
It's not the low difficulty that is the problem, that is corrected as soon as the difficulty changes, it's the insanely short block time. I get a new block every 2 seconds.

Once some big miners come on board, with low latency, they are going to make it pointless for small miners to even try (even through pools I assume, as it just increases the latency). It will also localize it to one country too, I'm guessing China has the bulk? Eg if most of the nodes are in China, then people in other countries have a massive disadvantage as the latency / small block time is a big disadvantage causing rejects and orphans. It encourages centralization over distributed hashing.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 01:14:33 PM
Yeah I get Block found ( I got a lot more when I started! Smiley, then mostly they are rejected, or if not they are orphaned (comes up in the client, but never credited) It seems there is a new block every 2 seconds, so if my latency is 0.25 - 0.5 seconds then even when I find one, they cant get to the network in time, and someone else already claimed it. Sad Sad haha

I'll buy 10K China for 20 LTC, or I'll take any for free Smiley

This is crap, I'm in NZ, eg I get 250ms ping to bitcoin.org. Mining from an hour after this was posted here, out of a few hundred, 27 are orphaned, with only 1 confirmed 88 payout, the rest were rejected, . It seems there is a block every 2 seconds!? If it was longer I would probably have 30k coins instead of 88.
With my high (!) latency I don't think there is anything I can do! Sad

Anyone want to donate me some / sell me some for LTC? Ce6QpLmhfCRHfntzxzUMGQrgwV3wCPAYxh

I was getting similar problems with one card. It turned out it was the PSU, although your PSU 800W should be plenty. Maybe check if your PUS has multiple 12v lines your not using all the same one?

Try cgminer, I have found it to be the one I like most. you can set it up to automatically  adjust core speeds / fan speeds to stop it going over temperature etc.

I was mining litecoin, cgminer said it was doing 400Kh/s but the pool was about 9kh/s I found out it was because I was pusing the card too much, and I was getting hardware errors, if not that I'm no help Smiley

Those odds are terrible compared to the other bitcoin gambling sites. Your rake needs to be in the 1% range.

Any QR code generator should do, google it! I found this one 'for bitcoin'

http://qr.ma.eatgold.com/

You can type '[Any Data, BTC address etc] qr code' into wolframalpha to get a QR code too eg here is mine (if anyone wants to tip me Tongue)
