1645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If i have 10 Bitcoin I can do this on: November 13, 2017, 03:33:53 PM
from what I understand it takes $1M to move the Bitcoin price 1%.  i.e., to move it 10%, you'd need $10M in coins.
1646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made this "ignore the FUD" poster and I didn't listen to my own advice :'( on: November 13, 2017, 03:30:51 PM

It feels kinda shatty hodling through this stuff like that too because of what ifs..
Even though I held and lost a bit you remind me I could have done much worse..

yeah, exactly.  I was looking at it like well, what if bitcoin IS going to collapse?  even though I knew it was a coordinated attack.  Roll Eyes

I love the artwork! And I've done this several times as well :-) The temptation to listen to loud voices is always big...

thank you! Smiley  yes, it is.  it's difficult because everyone has their own opinion on all of it, as well.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / wanted to share with you my "To The Moon!" artwork (bitcoin vs fiat) on: November 13, 2017, 03:12:51 PM
I originally shared this over in the Collectibles/Marketplace section as a sale post.  I'm sure many of you might not frequent that section of the forum so I figured it would be fun to share it here in case you haven't seen it.

This is Bitcoin Rollercoaster Guy going to the Moon with Fiat guy crashing into the earth Smiley

I totally would have bought it, it's a nice piece of work.

But I'm really of a mind to teach sheep a lesson. If you get compensated for your stupidity, you won't have learned your lesson. Therefore, sorry mate.

eh, not really a sheep.  I do plenty of reading and research.  problem is there's two sides to this and it's very hard to see clearly through it all.  I got into Bitcoin back in June.  Since then, I've read on it and watched just about every video I can (including every single interview with Andreas).  Just made a silly mistake.
1650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH- Bitcoin Cash moment on: November 13, 2017, 03:07:12 PM
go to coin market cap and check out "markets".  You'll find it's being pumped by the korean exchange.  It's a totally fake pump.
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I made this "ignore the FUD" poster and I didn't listen to my own advice :'( on: November 13, 2017, 03:02:43 PM
I released this new piece of artwork a few days ago, "Ignore the FUD" - https://lynxartcollection.com/cryptocurrency/ignore-the-fud-bitcoin-artwork-art-print-limited-to-100-signed-and-numbered

Now I'm sad because I didn't listen to my own advice.

Got panicky that the attack on Bitcoin was real and that it would go to $1K.  *facepalm*

Sold Bitcoin, bought Bitcoin Cash at the complete wrong time (the top, like they wanted), sold that at the bottom for a loss.  Bought back into Bitcoin today and I'm missing half of what I had.  Deeply saddened by this.  But a major lesson was learned.  Bitcoin Core is where it's at and I will no longer be fooled or manipulated into giving away my Bitcoin.

*sigh*

Anyway - hopefully you guys enjoy the artwork.  And if you'd like to pick one up it would of course help my current situation  Cool

1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "BITCOIN CASH IS BITCOIN NOW." on: November 12, 2017, 02:49:14 PM
what do you mean?  please explain.

You had to own Bitcoin on August 1st and have control over the private keys, or be with a service that credited you, to get Bitcoin Cash.

Bitcoin Cash fans seem to think no one loses if Bitcoin Cash destroys Bitcoin because everyone has equal amounts of BCH and BTC. This seems to give them the moral justification to go forward in setting everything on fire.

Anyone who came along after August 1st has no free BCH and more than likely won't understand why their Bitcoin is dwindling to nothing. Reflect on what they themselves will feel and how the media and the rest of the world is going to regard how that looks from the outside.

understood.  but even coming after august 1st you can just buy both BTC and BCH and hold.  but I do suppose many people getting in now might not have any idea about what's occurred with the different forks.
1657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "BITCOIN CASH IS BITCOIN NOW." on: November 12, 2017, 02:23:31 PM
I don't understand why people are so negative about BTH.

Everyone got the same amount when it split.
Transactions are quicker and cheaper.

What's the fuss. I think the only people moaning are the ones that sold up and now regret it.

Everyone who joined after August 1st, which is probably now hundreds of thousands of people, will have their money erased.

If you don't think that's a problem, both for them and the perception of Bitcoin and all crypto, then it's time for you to go into the wilderness and find your spirit animal before it's too late.

what do you mean?  please explain.
1658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash a threat for Bitcoin? on: November 11, 2017, 11:53:09 PM
I have no idea and I'm honestly confused and lost.  There's so much debate about this, one side says one thing, the other side says the other thing.   Huh Huh
1659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash fork and its effects on Bitcoin on: November 11, 2017, 11:03:44 PM
wait.  What?  The cash fork happened  august 1st.

what fork are you referencing?  Did I miss something?  Huh
1660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 11, 2017, 10:35:11 PM
Quick question, how long does it take to process a transaction with current level of unconfirmed transactions?

it's being mined at about one block per hour, and one block handles around 2K transactions.  So with 100K  transactions backlogged, you can expect that to be about 50 hours.
