Ebay's selling them for ~$100 per block erupter these days.

That cannot be true, can it? I think I’ve got a couple of these laying around next to my Butterfly Labs FPGA miners somewhere. For $100 each I could probably find the time to locate them. I’m a bit surprised to hear they’re worth anything, but they aren’t a bad collector’s item I guess. OP has them displayed very nicely.
Yeah ~$100 USD is the going rate. I've sold some on ebay for more than that last year. They are probably the most interesting miners available right now. Nice form factor, cool logo, colorful, and practically cheaper than anything else you can find. They won't mine you a single satoshi now days though.

People buy them to learn, to tinker with, and to keep as a soulvenir, or to try and "solo" mine with them... except they are more likely to get struck by lightning 100 times in a row than ever managing to solo mine a block with one of these.

I ended up keeping 10 sets of each color block eruptor as i thought they would be a cool collectible later. Interested to see what these sell for!
Your saying you have 10 sets of each color? So 110 block erupters? If so that's insane.

It took me a few years to find a few of the colors. The silver one with the orange logo and orange one with white logo (both first batch without regulatory markings) were by far the hardest ones to find.

Oh yea, i used to flip these things back in the day on amazon. Would buy them here for around $10 to $15 a piece and then sell yhem on amazon for $50+ ea. Literally flipped thousands of them.  I also bought them when they originally came out, but got all of the colors through the flipping technique.
That's quite the profit. I do remember people managing to get them for pretty cheap on here a few years ago. Don't see them for sale hardly ever on here now.

Then again you probably paid for them in bitcoin if you got them here, which might be regrettable now from the store of value perspective.

Ebay's selling them for ~$100 per block erupter these days.

this looks great indeed.
like mopar, i also unfortunately only own an old usb antminer u2
where do you ship from?
I ship from Canada. There shouldn't be any issue shipping to most places. Total weight of everything with the frame is 10lbs. Buyer pay for shipping.

I also collected the antminer "u" series as well. I've got a few u1, u2, and u3 miners that haven't been used in many years.

Unfortunately my u2 miners burnt out after an overclocking experiment gone wrong shortly after I got them in 2015. All 5 of my u2's are toast but I couldn't bring myself to just throw them away.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only existing complete collection of ASICMiner Sapphire Block Erupter USBs that has ever been shared online. This collection includes all 4 unique colors from the first Sapphire batch release (https://web.archive.org/web/20140416100930/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=212085), and all 7 unique colors from the second Sapphire batch release (https://web.archive.org/web/20131105152605/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=280961) for a total of 11 unique Block Erupters. I’m also including another black (batch 1) that is used to display the rear PCB board and hardware components as a compliment the info graphic advertisement in the shadow box frame.

Every USB Block Erupter has been tested using cgminer. They are all fully functional and each mine at ~330 MH/s.

Both of the 49 Port ASICMiner Block Erupter USB Hubs have also been tested using an APX PSU with a 24 pin power connector and high Amp (30Amp required) 5V output. The Block Erupter hubs use a 5V rail to power all of the USB ports.

This completed set includes:
- 12 x ASICMiner Block Erupter USBs (11 unique variants/colors, and 1 extra black (batch 1) Block Erupter)
- 2 x 49 Port ASICMiner Block Erupter USB Hubs (First and second releases).
- 1 x 18"x24" shadow box frame
- 3 x print outs. First and second batch release print outs of the USB Block Erupter on the Bitcointalk forum, and 1 print out of an infographic by (defunct) bitcoinexaminer.org showing the Block Erupter components and re-sale price of 1.05 BTC.

The History:

On May 4th, 2013, a user named friedcat from ASICMiner released the first ever bitcoin mining ASIC USB device on the bitcointalk forums, the Block Erupter USB.

The Block Erupter USB wasn’t the first ASIC miner released, but it was the first ever to use the USB form factor, and used the first ever ASIC chip ever manufactured. The release of the Block Erupter USB comes only a few months after Avalon released the first ever bitcoin ASIC miner to the public in January 2013, and it comes 7 months before Bitmain unveiled it’s first ASIC Miner; the Antminer S1.

These Block Erupter USB devices have a hash rate of 333 MH/s (0.000333 TH/s) and were available for purchase at a price of 1.99 BTC per USB miner upon release. Market value for 1.99 BTC was around $200-$225 USD at the time. These are massively inadequate in terms of mining power by today's metrics. Today, the Block Erupter USBs are technically the least powerful bitcoin ASIC mining devices in the world, since they were the first ever ASIC chips ever created (130nm BE100).

I've been trying to purchase his service for a week after testing the 24 hour trial. It took a couple of days before Zakiluck responded with a btc receiving address to pay for his server1 service.

As soon as I got his receiving address, I sent the payment and email notification with the tx hash letting him know that I paid.

It's been 5 days since I sent the payment. I still haven't heard back from him and I still don't have the service I paid for.

I looked up the tx hash on a block explorer. He spent the payment to another address an hour after he received the funds from me. Since then there have been several spends that include my initial payment amount.

I'll let this marinate for another week or so. I'll post an update here to let everybody know how this ends up playing out. I've got a bad taste in my mouth...

Turns out zakiluck wasn't receiving any of my emails that I was sending over. This is likely because of Hotmail's spam detection gets so easily triggered by any messages mentioning bitcoin or "strange" transaction hashes.

I decided to PM his profile on bitcointalk and he responded within minutes. I'm all setup now!

Thanks zakiluck!

@TheCoinDad on Twitter has created the first bitcoin ASIC museum. He even has the Avalon2, an extremely rare piece that that came out just after the first ASIC miner was delivered to Jeff Garzik. Check out his collection: https://bitcoinminingmuseum.com/

Nice website...thanks! Now I need to see someone create a website museum for all items Bitcoin related...especially physical Bitcoins.

   Thanks for sharing though!
I know this isn't quite a bitcoin museum, but I still think somebody might find this interesting; The "Scarce City" marketplace (https://scarce.city/) has physical collectible section that you can find and/or purchase. The search filters can narrow the results down to "Physical" and "Collectible" (https://scarce.city/marketplace/physical?refinementList%5Bcategory%5D%5B0%5D=collectibles).

While there isn't much on there ATM, there are currently a couple physical "Casascius" style loaded coins on there.

Also, if you go to the Scarce City homepage, you can scroll through the "Past Drops" section to find almost 100 different collection categories. For example, 1 of the ~100 collections is called "The Unconfiscatable Collection" which contains 22 items, including Casascius, TGBEX, and BTCC Mint coins (https://scarce.city/collections/unconfiscatable-1).

I also remember seeing many of the old USB miners (Block erupters, Antminer u1, u2 collections ect..). They are still on there somewhere. Search engines will find them.

The site is mostly cluttered with a bunch of pepes and artwork, but there are quite a few really cool/old physical pieces of bitcoin hardware and memorabilia in there if you take some time to rummage through the garbage.

Despite this, I agree that a dedicated/organized/formal physical bitcoin museum website is definitely missing in this space. I think it's probably a matter of time before somebody or some community in this space builds one. Heck if I had the money I would love to build it myself, but Casascius coins are (obviously) expensive!

I'm interested in server1 ( sd & hd & full hd ) without CCAM. Can I please test out the 24 hour trail? I have an older Minix U1 Android box with the XCIPTV app so I would be looking for a M3U login I believe.

Please PM me. I've enabled the setting to "Allow newbies to send you PMs". Thanks!

14  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Discounted $302 USD Bitmain Coupon on: November 22, 2021, 04:41:11 AM
I had to send my Antminer to Bitmain to get repaired that they issued me a coupon to compensate for my shipping cost. I have no intentions of purchasing any more items from Bitmain for a while and would like to offer it at a discounted price here.

The coupon value is $302 USD ($1 x 302) and can be applied when purchasing Bitmain products (Antminer/PSU/Parts). This is a digital coupon for shop.bitmain.com. Good for another 3 months (Expires 2022.02.26).

Screenshot of coupon: https://pasteboard.co/w6JMfaNXB9u6.png

Selling for $140 USD. I can accept PayPal, or eTransfer but would prefer BTC, xUSD, USDT. If you want to pay using a different alt coin just ask and we might be able to work something out. If it makes you feel more comfortable I can list it on ebay at a decided price but it would need to be more since Ebay takes about 12% of every sale. Alternatively, we can exchange in small increments. I can give you one $10 ($1 x 10) coupon for an agreed upon amount of xUSD for example and we just do that like 30 times.

You need to create your account on the Bitmain website in order for me to transfer the coupon over to you. to buy something (it is fast and easy to create an account).

PLEASE READ BITMAINS COUPON USAGE RULES BEFORE PURCHASING (I've pasted the rules below from the Bitmain Website)

  • In the event that the amount you paid for the products is at or near zero after applying the coupons, Bitmain is required to state the product value based on the export value or current sales price. All additional costs including customs clearance and tax will be borne by the customers.
  • The coupons may only be applied to new Antminers/PSU/parts purchases on https://shop.bitmain.com/
  • The coupons are only valid for purchasing our products on https://shop.bitmain.com/ and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Coupons cannot be applied on repair orders.
  • The coupon can be used for deducting maximum 30% of the order total amount (shipping fee not included).
  • Once order has been submitted, the applied coupon is deemed to be used even if the order expires.
  • Coupons are transferrable to other users’ accounts on www.bitmain.com.
  • Issued coupons are final; any changes to value/expiration date are strictly not allowed.
  • You may use one or more of the Post-sale Coupons for your order. Please note that you cannot use Post-sale Coupons with other type of coupons per order.
  • The coupon is effective from 00:00:00 on the starting date and 6 months validity.
  • If you do not redeem the full amount of your coupon for one product, the remaining value will be forfeited. E.g. A product costs 400 USD, if you used a 500 USD coupon on this product, the remaining 100 USD would not be returned to you.
  • Bitmain reserves the right to revoke, amend and limit all coupons.

Also noted on the Bitmain website is that "USD coupons can only be used on our English website and CNY coupons can only be used on our Chinese website."

I'm selling the USD coupon (for the English Bitmain site).

Post below or pm me if your interested or have any questions. Thanks
15  Economy / Service Discussion / KPMHOSTING - QC, Canada [NOT self-moderated] on: May 06, 2019, 05:34:40 AM
I'm starting this thread of 2 reasons:

1. KPMHOSTING have 2 threads on Bitcointalk, one got locked, and the other is self-moderated by KPM themselves, which is no good. So I'm starting this one in case others would like to share their experiences.

2. I told them that if they deleted my reply on their official self-moderated thread, I would create my own thread. They deleted my reply. Hence this thread.

So I've hosted my miners with KPM for a year and had a less than desirable experience. They started off alright, but their communication got worse at the end and I had to wait several weeks for them to respond and coordinate shipping my miners back. I eventually got them, after being forced to pay ridiculous fees and in the condition that you see in below.

I ended up having to pay for hosting even though my miners were down for over 100 hours. (Minimum compensation is 24 hours) The guys at KPM acknowledged this earlier on and said that they would compensate a few days of free hosting, but they never did. When I brought it up, they simply stated that the invoice (which ignored the downtime) would be sent to collections in a few days if unpaid.

Anyways, here are the images of what I finally received. These were obviously uncared-for and were running in a filthy environment. Also, they were all shipped with their PSU's STILL ATTACHED! KPM is the most expensive bitcoin hosting provider I know of, and I was willing to pay their ridiculous fees because when I started all the other hosting providers were full. They seemed to have a good reputation at the time. They pride themselves on great service (promise 2 - 12 hour response times on their website) but they don't deliver. I'm glad I have my miners out of there now. It was almost not worth it for how much the shipping was on top of their 'removal fee'.

16  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: KPMHOSTING - 1.2 MW - Reliable Miner Hosting / Colocation - QC, Canada on: June 02, 2018, 08:53:17 PM
Here is my review of KPM Hosting

I have been with them for almost 3 months now.

Pros:
- Excellent communication. They keep their customers in the loop for everything that goes on, provide pictures of upgrades, and respond very quick to emails.
- Setup time is very quick. They let me know when my miners arrived and set them up either that day, or the next day.
- Billing system is always on time, and is accurate.
- Any major downtime is compensated as a discount in subsequent bill

Cons:
- Large up-front cost (3-month deposit) that you will only get back at the end of the hosting term as a lump sum. Meaning that the customer assumes any risk. Other hosting companies I had worked with in the past did not have this as a requirement.
- They only compensate for downtime if the total monthly downtime is over 24 hours. Meaning if your miners were off for 23 hours during the month, you are still paying full price for that unused electricity. Can get costly depending on the size of your farm.

Overall, I feel that the great customer service makes up for the higher cost premiums that KPM charges. I feel confident in dealing with KPM Hosting.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: May 14, 2018, 05:01:37 PM
Ugh, so I bought another A5 and it came without an SD card socket in the hole but at least the hash boards have the "catch fire" capacitor removed already (board revision is A5-33S-V3.0a).

I tried to update the firmware to the Feb 2018 via the web interface and it didn't complete and the fault light started flashing continuously. Left it for 30 mins - no change. Ctrl-F5 - no change.

Rebooted it and it now just flashes the fault red light and is not visible on the network on its configured IP address or the default 192.168.1.254

What are my options?

Try to fit an SD socket so I can flash from TF card?

All combinations of reset button, IP set,  and power-on have had no effect.

Anyone selling an A5 controller board? (e.g. you already fried your hash boards).

Cheers,

FB
I believe the others in the past have contacted Innosilicon regarding their missing tf card reader slot. Not sure if Innosilicon ever responded to them about it. Might be wishful thinking trying that you will get a response from them via their email. Maybe direct message InnoASIC through this forum? If they had any pride left in their company then they should at least send one over for you to possibly hook up.. if you don't get a response, you can try their Twitter page. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: April 22, 2018, 01:40:18 AM
Purchase of miners and mining behavior themselves are indeed investment and economic behavior of high risk. Participants should be equipped with awareness and preparation for corresponding risk. Those who participated in this activity gained huge profits overnight can be found everywhere, however, there is also a number of people who suffered losses at the same time. But objectively speaking, such gains and losses may not be controlled or anticipated in advance.

I understand and am very aware that there are risks associated with mining. In the case of the A5, the biggest risk that we took which led to our demise was trusting in Innosilicon.

We hoped that Innosilicon would be able to deliver a reliable product that we paid for in the agreed upon timeframe, and most importantly value their customers and provide a good customer experience like any legitimate company would attempt to do.

As we have learned, Innosilicon was not only incapable of following the agreed upon contract terms, but was also unresponsive on all communication platforms towards their customers and just overall incompetent and irresponsible throughout the whole process.

When you say there is high risk in mining behaviour, usually those things include price volatility of the cryptocurrency market, competitors with more efficient mining equipment, mining difficulty increasing, ect. We shouldn't have to worry about the company delaying the product for such a long period of time that it defeats the purpose of paying the initial purchase price. Likewise, we shouldn't have to worry about miners catching on fire and the company being so irresponsible as to say "sorry, here's an email on how to desolder the hash boards" without offering any recalls, refunds or compensation. The "risks" that turned out to be the biggest factors preventing anybody from capitalizing on this investment are those in which were imposed on us by Innosilicon from the start. These types of risks could have been controlled in advance, or more fairly compensated for if Innosilicon had been responsible enough to care for their customers and/or reputation of their company.

Many people in the industry knew that the production process of A5 miner has been disastrously affected by the malicious interference and destruction of its competitors, which not only directly causes a substantial increase of production cost, but also leads to a longer delay of delivery than planned. The extent of destruction and interference is far beyond the bottom line of normal business competition, and even further beyond the imagination of many people. Such immoral behavior is the root cause for everyone's loss.

Again, no communication to customers about this event. This is the first I'm hearing about it.

Since your talking about morals, why did you make your customers suffer the consequences of this unfortunate event? Doesn't Innosilicon have responsibility involving risks that are inherit with doing business? I understand that if this did happen, Innosilicon would have also suffered a substantial financial loss. However, if Innosilicon were to have put their customers first then we would have been fairly compensated for the late shipping dates that resulted from this incident.

Notice I said 'fairly' compensated. I did get 'compensation' but not as one would expect. More on that below.

In the face of this unexpected situation, as a manufacturer, while enduring self-loss without any complaint, we have taken the initiative to increase the amount of compensation for subscribers, and provide coupons with the real purchasing power and almost no limitations. Extra miners were even directly presented to some customers for compensation. We know that these measures can't fully compensate for the total investment losses of the customers, however, as a manufacturer, we not only faithfully implement the pre-agreed compensation clause, but also delicate much to our subscribers within our capacities, in the hope of returning to customers as much as possible and reducing their losses.

I was never offered any coupons, only offered the 'free' A4+ without PSU as compensation (I was force to pay $403.33 USD for what Innosilicon insisted was the cost of shipping) plus DHL boarder fees. I was promised that "Delivery of the miners will be finished within 3 biz days after payment confirmation" ( – quote taken straight from the email). 3 days in reality ended up being 43 days before it was even shipped out. This is after me constantly attempting to contact them after I paid, finally got through to them through Twitter where they finally responded and confirmed my payment over a month later. By the time it arrived it was only capable of netting $4 a day, now it's netting about $2.50. It's been plugged in since it arrived and I have so far only net $50 USD after subtracting shipping costs and DHL boarder fees. Still in the negative about $100 USD since I had to pay for my own PSU as it was not supplied as part of the compensation. So in conclusion, this 'free' miner has yet to pay for itself, not to mention help to re-cooping investments lost in the A5.

Can I get compensated for the late arrival of your compensated A4+ miner? Serious question, because I would have never paid for this 'free' miner if your company didn't say it will be delivered in 3 business days. I thought perhaps that you may have learned from your mistakes and actually tried to deliver on your promises. I guess that's fool me twice, shame on me.

It is gratifying that most customers still give us very high level of trust and support. Their support and commitment are the driving force for our progress and the cornerstone of our development. Through this incident we also learned a lot, especially in the supply chain management and risk prevention, we have made a lot of improvement. As a result, you can feel that our delivery speed and efficiency have been completely improved. To some extent, this incident not only did not let us fall, but it made us stronger and faced more cruel and fierce market competition.

Judging from your Twitter page, it doesn't seem like 'most' customers give you very high accolades. Read the comments from any of your recent tweets and miner releases. It's not hard to find.

Also, I could imagine that the $10,000 price tag per A5 unit that you unjustifiably refused to refund helped to cushion your 'fall'.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: April 16, 2018, 09:29:40 PM
The price has been updated for the A5.
Currently it's 1180 USD MOQ 5 units.
That's a price decline of 847% in the last 4 or 5 months. It was $9999 usd in December if I recall correctly.
http://www.innosilicon.com/html/a5-miner/index.html

Painful to watch...

I would understand if Innosilicon was actually able to pull through and deliver the A5 as promised the first time around at the 10K mark, but it was so many months late that nobody stood a chance at reaching ROI and still don't. To lower the price that much after screwing so many people over with late defective miners just really grinds my gears.

Dear customer, thank you for your feedback. $9999 was the best price for A5 Dash miner at that time when the hashrate and the difficulty were counted then. But the market was then flooded with released miners and largely soared up the total hashrate and whole community‘s mining difficulty, which hurt the whole dash market. We aim to help to build the good cryptocurrency market and love to devote our full energy and time into the good miners development thus helping all the customers in mining career and gain from them. Frankly speaking, we are the first one who do not want to see the situation goes this way and we are a victim and as everyone who wants to build a good community. We still want to help customers with good performance miners and considerable service so we have our A5+ now and would like to offer to everyone who need.
I can understand that $9999 for the A5 at the time could have been considered appropriate (as crazy as it seems now) because of the opportunity to capitalize on the low mining difficulty level. This was never my issue.

My issue is that everybody who bought one of these did so with the intention of being able to mine Dash before the difficulty shot up. Otherwise, nobody would have paid $10,000 USD if they knew they were going to arrive over 3 months late. You ruined everybody's opportunity to make any profit before they even received the miner.

helping all the customers in mining career and gain from them.
If you actually wanted to help your customers, you would have allowed for a refund after failing to release the A5 miner as promised on the website and in the invoice. It's not fair that we have to still had to pay for a product that was promised to arrive in September. If we knew that it was going to arrive in December, nobody would have paid $10,000 for it. What if we were still waiting now? Would you issue refunds at this point? What I'm saying it that if the delivery date means nothing to you and your company, then you really don't care about your customers.

Frankly speaking, we are the first one who do not want to see the situation goes this way and we are a victim and as everyone who wants to build a good community.
Please, explain to me how you feel like the victim. You made a killing from overcharging customers for a miner that you know you never intended to have delivered in September, then refused to issue any refunds while knowing that the reason the miners will never reach ROI is because you never shipped them out at the date promised. How can you say "we do not want to see the situation goes this way" when you are the reason we are in this situation now? I understand that you have no control over the mining difficulty, but you did had control over our funds and control over the miner delivery dates. If there were legitimate set-backs, then we should have been compensated or offered a refund because you were the one breaking the agreement. Your actions directly contradict your statement.

… good miners development thus helping all the customers in mining career and gain from them
THEY CAUGHT ON FIRE FOR CHRIST SAKE AND YOU STILL DIDN’T OFFER A REFUND. If this is your definition of ‘good miners development’ I want some of what you are smoking.

You can post anything you want, but actions speak louder than words. And your mining company has the worst reputation in the history of cryptocurrency mining.

The community can help you restore your companies reputation, but you have to treat us fair and compensate us for your mistakes. Otherwise, there is no sense in lying to us by posting here after you practically stole from us without offering proper compensation.

Yes I know you offered the A4+ as compensation, without power supply and completely missing the targeted delivery date once again. But that is nowhere near enough for us to reach an ROI anytime soon. We would much rather be compensated financially.

Please contact me when you are ready to start turning things around. Anybody who looks at your Twitter page will see that your reputation is in the crapper, and for good reason.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A8+ Crypto 240kh/s ?! on: April 15, 2018, 12:14:09 AM

To add, dragons control board is almost exact same as innos as others have pointed out.

Hmmm adds to the theory that dragon ia innosilicon doesnt it??

..

Not sure if you read all the way through the first post from the creator of this thread, but Inno is a partner of Halong.
Whether or not they are Halong is not clear, but the partnership would at least explain why they have similar specs and share design similarities.

We are lauching new machines for new coins,of course,we are selling our LTC miners A4+/A6 and Dash miner A5/A5+ and we are partner of Halong and we also selling dragonmint miners.
