I didn't know there was so much going on with digitalcoin. Long live DGC! Only the start my man; we have a great group together, I'm personally very excited to be a part of the Digitalcoin renaissance.

On to more serious topics, The Digitalcoin Foundation has been transferred the DGC, SRC and ARG domains from baritus and is in the process of moving the sites to our server(s). Depending on where you are in the world, or your DNS provider, you may experience a little downtime when visiting our site(s).
With this transfer will be an upgrade of our message board system from SMF to VBulletin.
Additionally, this weekend, The Foundation discussed a few new features for DGC that may not be 100% ready when the new wallet is released, but their implementation will not require a hard fork after 3.0 is released (which will require a hard fork). I'll update once these features have gone from mind mapping -> implementation stage.

"hostile attacks on people attempting to help you" ?
I have 10 to 20 pages with all the talk of the IRC. Do not lie that someone attacked.
Why do you write only the coins from the mine? Why do not you write about the coins with free website? They also were in bad blockchain?
And secondly, how do you explain to me that the coins were in my wallet? That blockchain had my 3 addresses a half years ago? and transactions are visible. And now you blockchain not see anything?
I'm actually finished with this conversation with you. When you decide to start participating in the crypto community as a whole (not just Digitalcoin) in a constructive manner, we can revisit. Anyone that cares to research, here are the posts made by nathalie20 since the creation of the account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=262081;sa=showPosts .

I Have recieved the file which i will examine when i get home. My personal belief is that the coins recieved were coins mined and recieved on a forked blockchain as the above user did not even know that DGC was well past the v0.1 update
So my coins gone? Yes? This team DGC is guilty blockchain DGC error. And we have to pay for it own loss? Then why the team DGC has banned me on IRC? The "team DGC" has banned you on IRC because of your constant ignorant and hostile attacks on people attempting to help you -- including several people that spent many hours doing so. Your issue is with the pool you mined from, not with Digitalcoin or The Digitalcoin Foundation. I provided several warnings to tone down your attitude, you continued. You catch more flies with honey, honey.

Update 4/12/2015: DGC Foundation is now Digitalcoin Developer Network
Welcome to the Digitalcoin Community!
Digitalcoin (DGC) is an established cryptographic currency with a transparent history. The Digitalcoin Developer Network and its committed team ensures network stability and health through evolving policies, best practices and open-ended testing. To date, DGC remains one of the most fair, and well distributed forks of the original Bitcoin software.
Click the images above to visit our various social groups. IRC and the DGC forums are our most active communities.
Technical Specifications
Network Parameters Algorithm - Blocks are hashed using Scrypt, x11, and SHA256 algorithms. Confirmations - Confirmations average 40 seconds. Difficulty - Retargets every block Mining Reward - 5 per block found. Rewards halve every three years. Maximum coins - The total supply of digitalcoins will balance out around 48,166,000 as block halvings occur.
Network Enhancements Algorithm Control - If the last three blocks were discovered by the same algorithm, the fourth block will be rejected until its found by one of the other two algorithms. This prevents directed attacks on the network from any single algorithm.
Client Features Block Explorer - Built in block explorer allows you to look up transaction history of the network. Market Watch - Live market data pulled from Bittrex keeps you up to date on the digitalcoin price. IRC Portal - Chat directly with members of the digitalcoin community (note: due to the nature of IRC no one may be around when you ask your question; stay logged in and be patient!)
Development
Digitalcoin is currently developed through the Digitalcoin Developer Network. The Developer Network is comprised of volunteer members. If you would like to offer your expertise, contact The Digitalcoin Developer Network.
The Digitalcoin Developer Network is always accepting new, dedicated (and skilled) members.

Are you doing a coin swap to the new 3.0 coin?
Won't be necessary. All coins currently held will carry over without fault.
|
|
|
One thing I did forget to mention is that we've also come up with an improved difficulty adjustment which should stabilize block times significantly.
|
|
|
To clarify also, as I've received questions on this; a fork will be required.
|
|

Currently under testing by Digitalcoin Foundation Members are new features/upgrades/improvements to Digitalcoin [DGC v3.0].
This upgrade will include:
- A move from Scrypt-only to Multi-Algorithm including: Scrypt, SHA256, x11 - Improved blockchain data storage - Increased pricing stability through reward changes - Reworking of PrivKey/Wallet Import & Export
Once testing is completed within the Foundation, DGC v3.0 should be ready for release within the next few weeks.
Questions, comments, concerns are all welcome.

Ahmed please reconsider letting these guys change the hashing algo !
i have no dog in this race but it just seems to me that is what is planned and a VERY BAD IDEA !
changing it from Scrypt specifically to any other Algo would be colossally unfair. think about it.. Scrypt Asic's exist and have for a while now.. So if it was now some mix of other algo's like Quark's algo etc it would now be unfair to current new miners.
And it's kind a funny i just seen DigitalIndustry asking "HOW DO I MINE THIS COIN" THEN, I seen some foundation member pretty much saying that was the plan.. how did DigitalIndustry maybe know ? coincidence ?
Once a coin is scypt (and big and old enough) you just can't go and change the algo.. Imagine if Litecoin was now all of a sudden with no warning changed the LTC devs to be X13.
and by the way i really hate the X11 or X13 branding gay bullshit.. taking 12 different hashing algo's and forcing them together is not a smart revolution to crypto and it does not need a catchy name lol it's all just name brand bullshit to lure in fanboys so they have something to latch onto and promote.
The purpose of our decision for multi-algo is to allow people to use hardware that is otherwise be a good doorstep now that ASICs exist. Scrypt will still exist.

On another plus side the price has been moving up nicely as well over the past few days.
I could fix that for you if you want given the measley hash rate that is on this coin. I'm still not convinced Baritus is actually gone. FWIW I don't particularly have anything against the coin itself. I'm just curious why the DGC foundation is so "pandering" to him going out the door given the fact that everyone knows he has burned this coin and his investors badly. ~BCX~ Baritus still holds quantities of DGC, ARG, SRC, and CAVE. The Foundation is now in the processes of the transferring of the domain, github, etc al. to our control. Baritus will no longer be involved in the day to day of DigitalCoin, but he is not disappearing completely. I believe he has new plans for his exchange. In terms of the coin itself....I'm not sure what you're not believing here, but...unless you're claiming ahmed is baritus, I'm not quite sure what you mean?

Should also point out that most of the discussion on our progress takes place on our DigitalCoin forum ( http://digitalcoin.co/forum/) or in our IRC Channel at irc.freenode.net #digitalcoin . Feel free to join us! Unfortunately those mediums only reach a very small subset of users. Dogecoin for all of its shortcomings has solidly proven that success in this forum is critical to success period. If you cannot succeed here, your coin will fail. Harsh, but true. ~BCX~ Fair enough. Point taken. Any suggestions?

A little teaser about what we're working on:
- Multi Algorithm Mining - A New Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm - Blockchain data storage (possibly more than the run of the mill 80 bytes) - Few other things still under discussion and development
The Foundation has begun testing these features, and once the testing is completed, we will release more specific information regarding DGC V3.0.
|
|
|
Just a side note, I will be releasing shortly some more specific details on the changes we are working on for DigitalCoin. Much debate went into the final decision by The Foundation, and we believe we have come up with a well encompassing solution.
