1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and generation gap on: October 17, 2017, 07:07:08 AM
Nowadays the “identity” of bitcoin is known well only amongst people, who are pretty much “into” the computer technologies and crypto-world. Others, especially the elder generation (people from 40’, for example), imagine bitcoin as something mysterious, fake and dangerous, though it is not.
It’s technological contents are more than real and very helpful for the modern world. So, in terms of this situation, I would highly appreciate your help with coming up with easy and understandable lines for changing people’s thoughts and points of view on bitcoin.

If you get on poll you will see that the avg age is between 20-40. This generation gap is because the elder people have hot seen such a big revolution in the most needed thing today which is currency. You can explain them who brought up bitcoins how big people are supporting bitcoins. Why the rate increases and how. Tell them how it is the safest way for transaction of money. Basically if the idea of bitcoin is clear anyone will trust in them.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: how to predict bitcoin price increase or decrease? on: October 16, 2017, 02:10:32 PM
We see sometimes bitcoin price increase or decrease. How I can predict whether bitcoin price increase or decrease.Again, who controll this price.I appreciate if you kindly share your experience.
The calculation is simple more the bitcoins are minned more will be the price. There will be a bitcoin bubble burst in 2019 before that bitcoin will reach its highest value and after the burst it will fall down to a smaller value and remain standstill.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: October 16, 2017, 01:22:35 PM
It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

Banks have many purpose other than just currency. Banks maintain account which we hold and the regular transaction will not be possible. To some extent we can say that banks may disappear if the currency is more stable. At the current stage bitcoins are not so stable that they are replace the banks. Maybe in future other cypto currencies can totally eradicate banks.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be hacked? on: October 16, 2017, 01:10:29 PM
I love the concept of Bitcoin. I believe the Internet will redefine currency as we know it.  I hope this helps the Bitcoin community to develop a currency that's really resilient to attacks.

But, is it possible?
If you are talking about having it there is no possible way because there is as such no source where the bitcoins come from. There is no place where the bitcoins are situated. Bitcoin is not a stable currency but will end in a few years and other crypto currency will take place of bitcoin. Later these currencies will be valid in various countries and will be used for even transaction purpose.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: October 16, 2017, 01:01:03 PM
is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? anyhow this money sits in the bank and do nothing for!
Yes turning all the money into bitcoins is risky because there is no sure data how the rates will change and you also need to need money for now. on the other hand bitcoin will take even more time to increase its current rate. Bitcoin as an investment is good but not to put in everything you have.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A perfect bitcoin use-case on: October 16, 2017, 06:13:26 AM
The Founder of wikileaks posted on his twitter how bitcoin bitcoin has become profitable over 5000% after his his means of donation was blocked illegally in 2010 , this is one perfect use-case of bitcoin, ( https://twitter.com/JulianAssange/status/919247873648283653/photo/1 ) , but from the replies, its seems most people are still ignorant of bitcoins..
Really can't understand thoes people who still do not believe in bitcoins because it has become the most efficient currency of this age.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: October 16, 2017, 05:52:13 AM
Recently, I've been trading bitcoins on btc-e, earning only a little, yes, very little, except the fees that btc-e takes.

Besides trading, are there any good method to earn bitcoins?   Thanks.
Well btc-e domain was closed and the earning on it has unforunately stopped. Mining is the best possible way where u can relax and mine bitcoins with minimum effort. You just need to invest in the begining and rest magic is done by the miner.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: October 16, 2017, 05:35:02 AM
Personally, if I'm in a coffee shop or any store with some people, I pull out my wallet and subtly show them my Xapo debit card. Then they get curious on what kind of card is that since it doesnt look like the usual Mastercard or creditcard. Then I explain it from there on.

What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? Smiley
Bitcoin in the initial stage is hard to exam because it is one of the most complex currency available today. On a larger scale crypto currency is a digital currency where you connect to others directly without a third party inteference.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas to make some bitcoin on: October 16, 2017, 05:25:25 AM
How can I make minimum of 0.3btc in a month without trading and gambling?
As I've heard bad experience with both, but still need to make money

In earning bitcoins there is no shortcut. Earning them is a very slow process. Bitcoin  mining is one of the most famous and efficient way to earn more amount of bitcoins in short period of time. Why mining because It is the only source where you can mine bitcoins without any effort.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: October 16, 2017, 05:16:47 AM
Bitcoins has regained its strong value, As of this posting, the value per 1 bitcoin is exactly 4786.59 US Dollar.   Soon we will see more ways people can squeeze the most out of bitcoins.   Since the advent of the internet to be profit oriented in the 90's, no one would possibly have imagined that the Internet would breed Facebook, Google, Uber, online streaming, etc. This is where we are with the Blockchain now. There exists a whole world of opportunities out there.

These opportunities have the unrighteous users of this cryptocurrencies to also used its advantage. We cannot deny for a fact that cyber crimes have been committed since the birth of the internet.  Once, stealing was done with having guns, now, robbers can easily hack bank accounts or counterfeit credit cards to their advantage.  Sooner, cryptocurrencies can be used to pay crimes such as services for creating counterfeit birth certificates and this is not far from happening.  Actually, the US has already cases on this matter.

Another is the crime of buying illegal-drug emporium that used Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, politicians and policymakers took notice. Criminals, it turns out, really like bitcoins, which can be exchanged for nefarious purposes on the "Dark Web," with complete anonymity and, it seems, impunity.

Although, there are some articles that i have read regarding criminals cannot hide behind bitcoins, still, there are difficulties tracing transactions using cryptocurrencies. That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.
Bitcoin is a need of todays world. Bitcoin are mostly used by hackers. Hackers ask for bitcoins by blackmailing them. Recently there was a case about HBO hack where the hackers demanded huge amount of bitcoin in exchange that they would stop leaking their script and videous.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Device? on: October 16, 2017, 04:48:03 AM
Why isn't there a bitcoin device separable from phones and laptops, it would be something like Trezor & Ledger Nano S but as a stand alone device. This would be a great invention where you can load bitcoins on it and use it to buy things. It would be used for spending instead of storing like the hardware wallets.

You only need to connect it to the internet, and can only send or receive coins. No emails, browsing, or apps, so it's harder to hack into.

Or is there?
Yes there is a crypto based phone which will allow you to deal in cryptocurremcies. Bitcoin device would have many features such as in built miner cloud miner and give bonus deals. It would be a whole lot easier and people will surely opt for it.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll never stop buying Bitcoin on: October 16, 2017, 04:38:56 AM
I just wanted to ease everyone's fears, I will never stop buying Bitcoin. Every paycheck from now until forever, I'll continue buying Bitcoin during the fud, the bank bans the 'North Korea is mining bitcoin' BS. I don't care.

I might just burn it all at some point but I won't stop buying it. It might be the only thing I can do against the 'establishment'. Every time they call it a fraud/bubble etc.. Don't care, I support this honey badger as much as I can and always will.

It's wild but don't forget, Bitcoin is the first thing in human history that you can 100% trust... Not to always go up in value, not to make you a millionaire, it will only do exactly what it says it will do.
Yes u can trust on bitcoin 100%. But remember that the ever growing price of bitcoin will surely have a bubble burst and the price will fall down and become standstill. Better to be aware of further consiquenses.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest now or wait a while? on: October 16, 2017, 04:27:20 AM
Hey guys, my name is Thamos and I'm fairly new to Bitcoin. I've been reading up on Bitcoin for like, only, 2/3 weeks now. I was already planning on investing but I wanted to have a bit more knowledge about it all. I guess now I do.

I was just wondering, seeing how Bitcoin's price has increased by a lot over the last couple days, when would be best for me to hop in the pool. Should I buy now or should I wait till the price drops (even if it's only by a small percentage)?

I'm just looking for some advice. Thanks a lot!
Now or never. Because there is hardly 24 months left where you can have the maximum profit. If u invest now your returns will not be much but still it would be profitable. 2019 is the final year of bitcoins make it fast. Now the bitcoin rates wont fall make it fast.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: October 15, 2017, 06:56:38 PM
Bitcoin is something radically new. Nothing like Bitcoin has been possible until now. I would go so far as to consider it sui generis; "in its own class".  This makes it important to understand what Bitcoin actually is before we try to describe it to others.

We're getting a good handle on the code, and of course on Bitcoin's function and utility, but what words should we use to describe Bitcoin itself? There has been some debate in other threads [mostly my doing] over how it is like/not like money, cash, dollars, etc. I'd like to start this thread by focusing on the term "money", and play Devil's avocate by asking for your best arguments that Bitcoin IS money.

My legal dictionary states "In usual and ordinary acceptation it [money] means gold, silver, or paper money, used as circulating medium of exchange, and does not embrace notes, bonds, evidences of debt, or other personal or real estate." [cites omitted]

Wikipedia says "Money is any object that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context. The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange; a unit of account; a store of value; and, occasionally, a standard of deferred payment." [cited omitted]

Webster's Online Dictionary defines money as:
    • 1. The most common medium of exchange; functions as legal tender; "we tried to collect the money he owed us".
    • 2. Wealth reckoned in terms of money; "all his money is in real estate".
    • 3. The official currency issued by a government or national bank; "he changed his money into francs".
    • 4. A piece of metal, as gold, silver, copper, etc., coined, or stamped, and issued by the sovereign authority as a medium of exchange in financial transactions between citizens and with government; also, any number of such pieces; coin.
    • 5. Any written or stamped promise, certificate, or order, as a government note, a bank note, a certificate of deposit, etc., which is payable in standard coined money and is lawfully current in lieu of it; in a comprehensive sense, any currency usually and lawfully employed in buying and selling.
    • 6. In general, wealth; property; as, he has much money in land, or in stocks; to make, or lose, money.
    [links omitted]
    [/list]

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

But that is just my point of view. Are there any that can convincingly argue otherwise, that Bitcoin IS money?

Bitcoin is a type of virtual currency which u can't see just have it with you. Bitcoin is on the verge of replacing the physical currency and its growth is for sure.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't see how people profit largely on: October 15, 2017, 06:40:28 PM
Okay so first of all you buy bitcoin through places like coinbase and cex.io and so on, and they usually have a higher price for bitcoin then the market price, so you get screwed there. Then there is a huge fee to actually purchase the bitcoins. Then there is a transfer fee to the exchanges. Then there are trading fees. Then you send it back to coinbase or wherever for fees. Then you try withdrawing to cash out...and there is fees. Then year end you have to do tax, which is the biggest fee.

These "profits" are reduced by like 60% by the time you cash out.

Are people doing something different or am I not understanding this? Because there are WAY too many fees and then you gotta do taxes? Like damn.

    What's everyone elses method?
There are huge amount of fees in each and every process of bitcoins it is the only reason that bitcoin will be replaced by other cryptocurrencies. At this point holding is the only option and this fee structure will surely change.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass adoption of blockchain on: October 15, 2017, 06:28:59 PM
What do you think is needed in order for blockchain to adopted by the majority?
Maybe more number of user worldwide and advertisement would help blockchain to be adopted. Because it is more safe and secure.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get easy btc from an investment? on: October 15, 2017, 06:21:01 PM
Question? I want to learn how to get easy btc from my investment? and how to easily get earn my money back?
Investment are of two types long term and short term. At this moment do not go for long therm investment because its a period where bitcoin is at a peak of bubble burst. Invest small and short will help you.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: October 15, 2017, 06:11:25 PM
Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin
Paypal will actually be a gateway through which you could complete your transactions so no overcomming.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: October 15, 2017, 06:01:48 PM
What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?
People would go in tremendous amount of loss but i don't think that crypto currency would be banned because many people are supporting it and it is a valid currency.
