Day 21. Deposit was released and my last Kraken crypto holdings have been withdrawn. That's it for me. I'm done with Kraken! Good luck to the rest of you still stuck in limbo!

Hardware is better for security. But paper is free!
Sure. Hardware not worth it unless you're holding enough crypto.
|
|
|
My suggestion would be to get verified with the exchanges first then transfer funds/coins in. That way they can't use the "you're not verified" excuse to lock up your funds.
Though I've now since moved to ATMs to my paper wallet personally. Then I can always shapeshift to other coins if needed.
They never did, and I was verified. Paper wallet? Wouldn't it be better to use a hardware wallet?

Day 20. Finally! Deposit arrived on account!

We're having a major upgrade to our trading engine next week. Please have a read through our blog! You're having 50.000 new account registrations per day? While your site hasn't been working for weeks already??? In the meantime, Bittrex, which has been working MUCH better than Kraken, has halted their new user registrations. Suggest you follow suit! At least it would signal to your users that you are taking the problems seriously!

Day 19
Wow that's terrible. I've never had that issue with Bittrex. They've been really good... so far...
Yeah, I'm sure. I just tried to sign up with them to get some NEM. Unlike Kraken, they are taking responsibility when they see that they're being overloaded with traffic. They've halted new user registrations until they can handle the higher load. That's the way to do it! Are you listening Kraken?

Generally been happy with CoinBase. Once I got verified, there's been no hickups for me, except once when the site was down for a day or two. I withdrew some funds, just to test it out, and it worked fine. Suggest you remain patient for a while longer, I'm sure it'll work out.

18 days... And all BS automated replies from their support system.
|
|
|
16 days. And counting... I know it will never happen but come to think of it, why are the exchanges the only ones allowed to have terms and conditions?
Yes, I might not have T&C's, but should have some legal rights. Wonder what options I might have in that regard?

On hold... For 15 days now. How much I could have profited with that money in crypto these past days....

I missed various trading opportunities during the volatility in the last days.
Exactly. With this kind of volatility, opportunity cost is huge. Shake on Kraken for doing this to their customers! But If you like your exchanges humorless and corporate, i would suggest you to use Bitfinex.
Agree. I like that site very much. Only problem with it for me, is I can't transfer fiat to them, due to their verification requirements. For that I use Coinbase.

Deleting apps doesn't "delete" any of your coins... you are free to remove the BCH app, install another app (say LTC app), then remove the LTC app and reinstall the BCH app and all your coins will be fine. Remember, coins are "stored" on the Blockchain, NOT in your device. The only thing in your device is the seed/private keys... and ALL the wallets are generated one the same seed (your 24 words) When did you put the BTC on your Ledger? if it was BEFORE August 1st, then you're looking at the BCH you got from the fork Thank you. That's a much better explanation than what Ledger support offered! (Their response time is excellent. Quality of their answers is not) Well, here's the funny thing: All the BTC's were bought and put on the Ledger long after August 1st. And I have never put any BCH on the Ledger. 100% seems like a but that I have a non-zero balance on my BCH wallet.

So I want to free up some of the limited space on the Nano S for adding another app. I am not holding any BCH, so I was going to delete that one. To my big surprise though, when I open the BCH application, just to double check the balance, I see the same balance as I would when I open the BTC app! So now I'm scared to delete it, fearing that I might inadvertantly delete bitcoins along with it! Anybody seen the same thing? Thinking I should temporarily transfer all my bitcoins off the Nano S, then delete the BCH app, and then transfer back the bitcions.

Just be patient, almost all the exchanges that are online at the moment are passing through the same issues.
Yes you could say that the other exchanges are "passing through" these issues. That's no problem. I can live with passing through. On Coinbase and Bitfinex I haven't even noticed these kinds of issues. On Kraken it's been non-stop for weeks!

As if Kraken is reading my post, suddenly I can log in. I can also navigate around the site, but when I make it to Withdraw, and select bitcoin, guess what. That's right. Error 520.
Kraken is giving me an ulcer...
By the way, a high BTC price and high traffic is no excuse for all this BS. They can levy small fees for small transactions, like Bitfinex does, to keep the volume down.
The way this is going, I certainly plan to do my part to keep traffic down on their site....

Haven't been able to log in for weeks. Either it says "Invalid login", or it accepts the login and then gives me a 520 error.

When I go to coinbase.com, the web site says:
SERVICE UNAVAILABLE
Coinbase is currently down for maintenance. Please try again later or see our status page for more information.
So I go to their status page, and there's nothing there about the whole site being down. Are other people seeing the same?
Worries me when I have these issues, and it seems nobody else is. Starting to suspect spyware / malware on my computer. Maybe I'm just turning paranoid...

Been unable to log in to Coinbase for weeks now, because the web site keeps sending invalid SMS codes. After navigating through the maze of FAQ's (No faq for this problem), I found their email form. After about a day they reply with the answer to a problem which I don't have They tell me all kinds of reason for why the SMS'es might not reach me. COINBASE: THE SMS'ES YOU SEND ARE RECEIVED, BUT THEY ARE INVALID! Seems the reply I got was automated as well, based simply on the categories you have to choose. Very disappointing.

Hello! New to the forum.
Planning to get a few Antminer S9's set up. I'm lucky enough to have free power, but no cabled broadband. I can get 3G/4G though.
Seeking anybody with first hand experience with:
1. Monthly data usage for one S9? Preferably recent measurements.
2. How much pool performance % is lost due to the latency?
On-topic answers only please. Thanks!
