I suspect Bitcoin is to him, what ebay is to most of us, we all hate it, but if you can still make money using it, you do.

Black Arrow Update 5/15/2014 We have stocked all required parts, except the LCDs and cases for X1 which are due to be delivered next week. The miners are in production including the X1 boards. Several software issues have hold the shipment for few days but we expect to start shipping any day now. http://ecointalk.net/gallery/album/22-15-may-production-update/any new info thomas? Clearly not, DZ communication is piss poor. I was also disappointed to note thomas is now part of minersource, so any DZ neutrality that was there is definately out of the window now.

That's significant news! Peter Schiff is a well known character in the Gold/Silver-marketplace. His company generates significant sales on a global level. ya.ya.yo! I agree, being able to go back and forth between precious metals and bitcoin rather than touch fiat is going to be very attractive going forward.

The timing of the rise implies it was a purely western phenomena, the most likely explanation for which was the Winklevoss twins doing a press release that Bitcoin would be bigger than facebook.
Of course it doesn't really matter what started it, belief feeds itself, so if enough bulls believe this is the start of the next upswing, then it will be.

You do realize that they cannot make the hardware appear from thin air, right?
The manufacture didn't delivered the hardware, so we got a refund...
The mining industry is a continuing changing business, you adapt or die and as far as I can see cryptx is doing a good job, or at least trying very hard, adapting to new circumstances.
Was it that hard to explain, share and call for quick vote? We were all for the long term and most likely voted in favor of the logical option... That's the problem with virtual companies, there is no corporate governance, we have no 'rights' as shareholders, in fact we are not even represented by shareholder elected directors. So we should not be entirely suprised when so called 'founders' steamroller through their own decisions regardless of whether they might represent a conflict of interest. Having said that, I knew I was taking a chance on the people behind honest when I got into this. But there IS a very good reason why none of these IPO's would be legal in the developed world.

Thanks for the update thomas, very much appreciated.
yeah looks like this will finally start to happen. how many share do you have left howard ? I have 5 Still holding 14, but would have taken the refund if BTC had not tanked and refunds were in BTC not dollar value that shares were sold at.

Could someone please just cut through the BS techno updates and give R17 members the basic need to know facts:
a) When will we be hashing?
b) What rate/power will we be hashing at(ie final specs of x3)?
c) Given that we will probably not make ROI even if we started hashing today, and taking account of the BA 50% upgrade, what are DZ doing to get the compensation adjusted so that an ROI can be made?
And i'm talking to DZ here, NOT minersource.
A) When minersource receives them, end of this week or next week. B) They are currently hashing at 100gh/s per chip, based on the units ordered and compensation given by BA there will be 3th/s per machine or 60gh/s per share + any OCing we can do (the 2th/s is expected to be able to hash at 2.4th/s) C) We have talked with minersource who is relaying our concerns to BA. We have already gotten minersource to allow us to use PSU's at no additional fee and no colocation fee's for OCing. If BA gives more it will be passed on. As for the updates, we will continue relaying all of BA's updates in this thread when only the big important updates were given people complained that there weren't regular updates. Thanks for the update thomas, very much appreciated.

say hi to your jetlag
Im so jetlagged I tried turning on my macbook pro by shaking it. IN seriousness I hope to have a metric ton of pictures and information over the next few days, so bear with me Best of luck. I think it's really fantastic that you flew halfway around the world to get "feet on the ground" answers for your customers, and I just wanted to thank you for doing so. +1 +2 -1 last time he flew to BA UK office, the update largely consisted of being told he couldn't say anything because of NDA he had to sign! but plenty of hints of pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. So don't get your hopes up to much!

As has been said many many times, these are not the final specs. Its a waist of time to calc numbers using that. Says it all when the 'final specs' are not known months after the product was supposed to ship and days before they are currently saying it's shipping! And when is a good estimate when the hosting by the group x3's are gonna start hashing? Today tomarrow? Thanks. Their online store says: "This is a PRE-ORDER (Batch 2), available for dispatch around 15/05/2014"
|
|
|
I'm not sure when it changed, but BA's store is now showing both the X1 and X3 as 'in stock'.
Edit: scratch that, second page shows "This is a PRE-ORDER (Batch 2), available for dispatch around 15/05/2014"

A comment on youtube said; Bullshit. The only the way the Fed can be destroyed is to repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. You seem to forget this in a constitutional republic, and the Fed is here by law ...
He has a good point, because there is 0% chance for that to happen(That Bitcoin will be the "killer"). But, you are both wrong. FEDs current monopoly is GLOBAL. And it is already under way to come to an end due to the fact that Russia and China are now enemies of the US. Bitcoin will not be the killer. But it will benefit from the dollar collapse. This might also be what will cause it to be "banned". Neither China or Russia have any interest in an imminent dollar collapse as the ramifications on themselves would be negative and massive. IMHO that is why both of them have taken steps to slow Bitcoins growth to "buy time" to move their dollar treasury exposure.

I am curious, how long will it be before all bitcoins in their ETF are stolen?
EXACTLY! +1 "If you don't hold it, you don't own it" as the old saying goes. Holding BTC for an ETF is the complete antithesis of what BTC stands for, but they will still make a bundle out of the fools who don't understand that. It will only be a short hop from listing to naked shorting and the same situation we have with precious metals today, where most people who think they own gold/silver in futures contracts would never be able to get it delivered.

Bitcoin Difficulty: 8,000,872,136 Estimated Next Difficulty: 8,943,758,354 (+11.78%) Adjust time: After 189 Blocks, About 1.1 days
And what was the difficulty back on Feb 24th. when the BA gear was supposed to ship? Feb 28 2014: 3,815,723,799 difficulty. So we would need twice the hash (to get the same return) if they were delivered today! Probably three times the hash by time they are actually delivered.

Blackarrow have announced the first units have gone into production should be finished for Monday Yeah they also announced that manufacturer chosen for PCB assembly let them down by two days, so they switched to another company!! WTF!! Doesn't look to me like they are really in control of any of the critical paths of this product. I hope to be wrong, but i'll be amazed if we see a product this month.

It's really very simple, either Black Arrow hope to continue in business after this product release, or they do not. If it's the former they are certainly going to have to improve on the compensation plan for their customers. Customers don't forget, bitcointalk.org never forgets...

so bluesticker and btc6000
you guys are out in the cold?
how much btc for you:
bluesticker?
btc6000?
Out in the cold to the tune of precisely 0.45574319 BTC. Yeah I know not a fortune in the grand scheme of things, but it's the principle that counts. Seriously DZ et al; is it worth gaining a poor reputation for amounts such as this? Cheers, The whole DZ "cooperative" concept has been compromised since their organisers became profit motivated reseller for BA. I certainly would not go with them again whilst the current structure endures (And I used to be a huge fan).

Seems nice, but reality is August is a BTC difficulty lifetime away, so doubt it will make much of a dent in the return on investment model. Black Arrow are shipping imminently and giving their pre-order customers a 50% free boost in next few days!! Having said that they didn't HAVE to do anything, so Kudos to Knc for being customer centric.
