didn't the Chinese recently land on the moon and take pictures and it was revealed that the moon is actually not gray and dead looking after all but has green moss like growth and even purple hues

I'm shocked, man. Thanks for the info. "The Chinese spacecraft landed on the moon on Dec. 14, 2013" according to:
http://www.space.com/23786-china-moon-rover-mission-photos-change3-lander.html

The site space.com seems legitimate. There are 63 photos with comments there. I'll read all of them.
Not that i'm a conspiracy theorist, but I just have to wonder how you land on the surface of a planet covered in a grey dust that has the consistancy of talcolm powder using high powered rocket engines without kicking up some of that dust onto your shiny metal lander? Even the upturned concave lander feet appear to be devoid of debris.

If a currency can fall 8.5% in a day on no real bad news such as today just proves the cronies and knockers correct when they say its too risky and volatile. Imagine if there was actually some bad news, sheesh.

You are assuming that people in general are pushing this down, your wrong. It was a flash crash on bitfinex.com caused by deliberate manipulation, absolutely nothing to do with public sentiment or news.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is panic selling their BTC on: August 14, 2014, 09:03:28 AM
It's all the over leveraged positions at bitfinex.com have been margin called, 3000btc dumped in 10 mins!
Manipulators got exactly what they wanted a flash crash.
64  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-14] The Bitcoin Price is Crumbling – Why? on: August 14, 2014, 04:48:42 AM
http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/bitcoin-price-crumbling/2014/08/13

The Bitcoin price continues the downward trend with hitting an all time low since mid June 2014 with 550 USD per Bitcoin. Two days ago our author Venzen Khaosan posted a Bitcoin price analysis that could help explain why the price is falling the way it does now. Beyond the below factors which are always driving down the price, one large event that may be triggering this price drop is the sale of Ethereum’s bitcoins.

If the Ethereum all stars sell their bitcoin on the open market then they are not the smart people we all hope they are. There are plenty of people/institutions looking for sources of bulk bitcoins, as evidenced by the bidding on the silkroad coins auction.

No, this is manipulation, plain and simple. Anyone that dumps 1000btc in 10 mins on an illiquid exchange in the dead of night is not trying to get the best price, they are trying to get the best price drop!
65  Bitcoin / Press / [2014-11-08] Payza introduces bitcoin withdrawals on: August 11, 2014, 05:03:47 PM
https://blog.payza.com/payza-updates/why-use-payza-announcements/buy-bitcoin-with-payza/

Payza has a huge global footprint (10 million I think), allowing people to convert fiat to bitcoin through their payza accounts is a very very positive big deal.

Payza discuss this on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2d8fmj/payza_introduces_withdrawal_by_bitcoin_blog_post/

Thomas_s/bobsag3 you have both ignored requests made a week ago to provide proof our money was actually passed to BA. If you don't respond within the next two days I will be contacting your local law enforcement to register a formal complaint of fraud.

You have been warned.

I thought UK banks were the worst, but sounds like US bankers are about as bad as you can get! Most startup businesses just want an ordinary current (checking I think you call it) account, no loan, no overdraft, where the hell is the risk in that? why does it require a spanish inquisition type process, and then rejects you anyay.
68  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-06] George Osborne embraces Bitcoin as London aims to be centre of glob on: August 08, 2014, 01:04:57 PM
This creates a moral conflict for me.  On the one hand, I can't stand the tories and think they're odious, corrupt, self-serving scum.  But on the other hand, they appear to be supportive of bitcoin, so they've got one thing right at least.  Still wouldn't vote for them or anything.  I suppose purely by the law of averages they'd have to make something resembling a smart decision at some point.   Roll Eyes
What a coincidence, I was thinking the same thing about Labour, with the exception they never get a single thing right!

Can't really say I'm a fan of Labour either.  They might be marginally less corrupt, but not by much.  All the major UK parties are essentially looking to line their own pockets and claim expenses while screwing everyone else over.  Maybe it's just politicians in general I'm not a fan of, heh.
The sad thing is, if you get involved (as I have) at grass roots party members are actually salt of the earth types that are committed to helping everyone, it's only the power grasping sleezebags on both sides that let them down.

70  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-07] George Osborne hopes to turn Britain into bitcoin capital on: August 07, 2014, 07:45:20 PM
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/aug/06/george-osborne-britain-bitcoin-capital

The Treasury has launched a review looking to turn the UK into a centre for virtual currency trade, the chancellor, George Osborne, announced at Canary Wharf in London.

Officials will study the benefits and threats unregulated digital currencies including bitcoin, which peaked with a market capitalisation of around $14bn at the end of 2013 but has since declined to about $8bn according to bitcoin market watcher BlockChain.
The title is very much putting words in Osborns mouth. What he is actually doing is commissioning a study on the impact of virtual currencies to ensure we keep London in the no 1 position for international finance and financial innovation. Specifically he talked about helping businesses seek finance from means other than the banks which have demonstrated themselves to be too slow and inflexible.

I've seen a lot of posts knocking George Osborne over this, but he's actually a very progressive intellectual, and if it's good for the UK he WILL make it happen!

72  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-07] Bitcoin Price Strong Move Possible on: August 07, 2014, 07:35:30 PM
"Trading position (short-term, our opinion): long, stop-loss at $550, take-profit at $880."

This might be why we seeing a slump in the price from $800, because of all the traders, selling at around $800 and floading the market, reducing the price.  Wink
Well they are not the first to offer derivatives in bitcoin, which is why we already  see so many attempts at manipulation.

Doesnt really tell us anything we didn't know already, other than confirming high levels of institutional interest, which is a really positive sign.
74  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-01] ria.ru RUSSIA TO BAN BITCOIN on: August 07, 2014, 07:24:40 PM
China, Vietnam, Russia ... all those current and ex-communist countries are eager to ban bitcoin, that says something.
What it says is the (non-democratic) state believes it can control everything. They will get a harsh lesson in the reality of crypto when they miss
the chance to get their share (for their people of course!  Tongue) of the worlds greatest wealth tsunami.
75  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-01] ria.ru RUSSIA TO BAN BITCOIN on: August 07, 2014, 04:10:12 PM
It's a serious threat to the bit coin ecosystem if Russia or China decide to switch off their servers.
Give us a break, Russia is of zero positive significance to the bitcoin community or the currency.
Except that 90% of network hashing power is produced by hardware based on BitFury chip invented by russian.
What so they are going to uninvent their chip? or restrict it? you think there are not a zillion KnC's out there drooling to fill that void? get real....

I am not sure what you point is, but if I had to assign "zero significance" label I'd rather assign it to the zillions that are just drooling than to someone who actually invented the best mining chip out there.
You are attaching way to much significance to mining speeds. The bitcoin network at current transaction levels could still be happily mined on personal PC's let alone GPU's or ASIC's, all the mining 'arms race' has done is alter who gets the benefit of mining, it's of little intrinsic value to the bitcoin network at this stage of it's growth, it's a completely artificial phenomenon, ie "zero significance"
76  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-06] Britain eyes Bitcoin, rivals, with virtual currency rules on: August 06, 2014, 04:26:23 PM
I don't understand why they need to make new rules? They have the "e-money" rules, related to electronic payments and staff. Bitcoin should just fit into that category I think.
They have not announced new rules, simply a  review of the technologies and potential impact. Thats not saying it won't lead to new rules, and those rules might not necassarily be bad for bitcoin. I doubt they will go as far or be as restrictive as New York, but legitimising bitcoin with the banks would go a long way to freeing up innovation, since main problem at moment is no UK banks will knowingly hold business accounts for bitcoin linked companies.
77  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-06] George Osborne embraces Bitcoin as London aims to be centre of glob on: August 06, 2014, 04:19:33 PM
"Launching a review" = How can we tax Bitcoin?
I seriously think you are underestimating George Osborne, he's a very progressive thinker and definately understands the importance of keeping London as the No 1 spot for international finance. I very much doubt he will be anything but a friend to bitcoin in the UK.

It's not suprising that he is known as "the most hated man on wall street", most of the street knows what bitcoin means for them, and they know how much he's doing for it.
