Why do people think it is funny to post dumb things? Why do they be morons?

Mind blowing

Agreed.

Can't recommend enough.  Check out the LTB episode.  Everyone needs to hear this.

Think of the demographic.

Paranoid, anti government people.

Getting O'Reilly to present Bitcoin as an alternative to the "hitler muslim" president's controlled currency would get them on board, and increase bitcoin adoption.

In the end that's all that matters.

684  Economy / Speculation / Re: China Closing. China Buying?! on: April 10, 2014, 04:10:27 PM
Well, fiatleak is 100% reliable in what it's doing - showing every trade from exchanges.

The graphic shows the coins flying *into* china.  This creates the impression of purchasing by Chinese citizens.  When in fact they could all be cashing out.

Fiatleak shows EVERY trade (buy and sell) on the exchanges it's monitoring.

So a SELL could look like a Bitcoin flying INTO china then right?

That means Fiatleak is 100% unreliable.

686  Economy / Speculation / China Closing. China Buying?! on: April 10, 2014, 03:50:39 PM
Update:  See conclusion drawn below:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=565250.msg6158549#msg6158549

--------------

I realize Fiatleak.com isn't 100% reliable, but its strange watching the price tank because China is closing exchanges today, and yet mass quantities of BTC are still being purchased by China, as per:

http://www.fiatleak.com/

And its midnight there right now too.

Is fiatleak 100% unreliable or is this accurate?

Uh...

Dear Captain FUD (Cosmofly)

There is absolutely *nothing* in that article that states MultiBit scammed anyone.

Nothing.
688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Industry Group Aims to Change Bitcoin Symbol on: April 09, 2014, 11:14:06 PM
As much as this may make some here roll their eyes, the whole "inverted cross" thing is going to be milked beyond belief, if this symbol is adopted.

Trust me.  And you're looking at hundreds of millions of people.   While you may consider them idiots, they are still an issue.

Put the line at the top like one guy joked on Page 1, and you may end up with a completely opposite response (good) from hundreds of millions of faith.

They will spin it as Bitcoin being sent from above to provide help to the masses, and ruin the power of the corrupt.

Trust me.  I know how this demographic thinks.  Was part of it once.

But the proposed one will only cause extreme drama from huge groups of people.

689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Industry Group Aims to Change Bitcoin Symbol on: April 09, 2014, 04:45:06 PM
I wanted to comment on this.

It's funny that some "industry group"   (anonymous people who made a web page) publicly declare that they "aim to change" the bitcoin symbol.

The community will need to rally behind the idea or it wont go anywhere.

And I'm not seeing much enthusiasm.

PS:   Why are some companies using the wrong symbol already?   Lamassu ATM's have the wrong symbol?
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Energy and Enthusiasm is Dying. Bitcoiners are Growing Tired. ZZZZzzzzz.... on: April 09, 2014, 04:42:33 PM

I'm not a skeptic, I'm hopeful. I've invested quite a bit in mining equipment and still continue to mind this day… It just seems as if it's such an uphill battle, that never ends. Now governments getting involved, well the list goes on and on...

This mentality is where the term "weak hands" comes from.

As I recommend to everyone who views Bitcoin with such a tiny hyperfocus, please download PodCruncher app to your phone and subscribe to Lets Talk Bitcoin podcast.
Make an effort to listen to the newest episodes every day.   While you make breakfast, while you drive places, etc.
Especiallly the official podcast within it by the actual name:  LTB / Lets Talk Bitcoin.

Coinsider This is another good one.

You will start to gain an awareness of what is going on in the industry.  The vastness of the adoption and growth going on.
Speakers from the conferences.  Your hyperfocus on the minutia and short term view of everything will hopefully start to dissolve.
Then confidence in long term growth will happen.
I'll meet you there.

1)  I dont speak Chinese

2)  I got a warning that a potentially malicious website was blocked when I loaded that link.

3)  I always figured Macau specifically would be the place.   I realize they're right next to eachother.  Did it mention Macau?

697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holder: Bitcoin raises law enforcement concerns on: April 08, 2014, 09:23:26 PM
Ok.

1)  Briefcase full of cash:   100% undocumented 100% untrackable.

2)  Bitcoins:  100% documented 100% publicly trackable for the whole world to see.

Why aren't law enforcement folks grasping this?

Foundational definition of Bitcoin:   Worlds first publicly viewable ledger.

Finally bringing accountability to financial transactions.

Just because it doesn't have a first and last name slapped on every movement of coins, doesn't mean its anonymous.

I remember listening to him discuss this on Lets talk Bitcoin podcast a few months ago.
It was just in the planning stages back then, and he was commenting somewhat timidly that it was a "long shot", because BTC hadn't even been recognized yet.
Now that the IRS ruling has come out, its a bullseye.  Perfect timing, and really glad he got this ball rolling early.
I cant stress how awesome LTB podcast is for this stuff.

Yes.
Obsolete because its just morphed into a virtual form.
My question still stands.   Whats stopping them?
