2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Orders Order? trader question. on: May 12, 2014, 06:07:34 PM
Typically Exchanges execute orders at price, then time priority. So your order should have been filled before any subsequent orders.
Were you looking at the public market data to determine who came first? or looking at Bitstamp's acknowledgement of your order?

Specifically with Bitstamp, we've seen that there is a lag between the time your order is acknowledged as Submitted to when it appears on their orderbook. What may have happened is that the orders that were executed before yours were actually sent in before as well.

The order of events might have been:

1. Other market participants send orders at price $400
2. You send in your order for the same price
3. Your order is acknowledged by Bitstamp
4. Other orders appear on public order book
5. Your order appears on public order book
6. All orders are executed in Time Priority, yours is filled last

If this service is free, how exactly does your company make money? Are your front running your clients orders?

BTX Trader is operated as a freemium product, we make money on advanced orders (https://www.btxtrader.com/#/info) that are placed through our system from users' prepaid BTX wallets at a fee of 0.2% (0.002) of the trade value. We do not front-run any client orders.

We recommend that you create API key's without withdrawal capabilities. In addition, we encrypt all API keys and store them on Google App Engine.
Check out our Youtube channel for how to link your Bitstamp Account: https://www.youtube.com/user/BTXTrader

Also, BTX Trader is a NYC based start up.
Our office address is 25 Broadway, 9th Floor, NY, NY 10004. Our telephone number is +1 646 461 6799. Feel free to reach out to me at ilya (at) btxtrader.com to schedule a demonstration of the product, support inquires or to just chat about digital currency, trading, wall street or technology!
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how to set a stop loss on btc-e? on: April 24, 2014, 09:23:04 PM
Give BTX Trader a try. We have a PC desktop client as well as a web version that we just released.

www.btxtrader.com

More info on how our stop limit order works:

Sell Stop Limit

Objective: Sell-stop orders protect long positions by triggering a market limit order if the price falls below a certain level. These orders are not guaranteed to be filled.
Example: You place a sell stop limit order with a stop price of $350 and a limit price of $375. When the last price at the exchange reaches $350, a limit order with price $375 is sent to the exchange by the BTX trade engine.

Only 7 votes. Are most folks just passive investors/buy&hold?
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for a good trading software on: April 21, 2014, 05:40:20 PM
I am looking for a good trading software which at least supports stop loss, API for different exchanges and charts.

I`ve tried BTX Trader and QT Trader already, but both of them could not fully satisfy my requirements.

Which software are the "Pros" here using?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, just curious, specifically what was missing from BTX Trader?

Ilya

I was able set orders, but they never got executed. Support didnt help at all.
I`ve tried any kind of order. API from Bitstamp AND Btc-E was connected correct.

Also programm was froozen few times. Over all it did not make a good impression to me.

Apologies, we are a small team and were in the middle of releasing additional features.
We have since greatly improved order handling and execution of orders in the system.

I encourage you to give BTX Trader another try. As for freezing, we have not seen this come up. It might be caused by the fact that BTX Trader now pulls in realtime market data for *all* exchanges (even the ones that dont have realtime feeds).
You can also try our new web trader, while it is still new, we're iterating on it at least biweekly.

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Active Traders (at least 1 trade/week): How do you enter your trades? on: April 16, 2014, 10:10:31 PM
Hi All, This poll serves to gauge the community on how active bitcoin traders place trades.

Do you code your own bot against exchanges' API's?
Do you click trade via exchange websites or 3rd parties?
Do you avoid electronic trading altogether and use LocalBitcoins?
Do you speculate using Coinbase? (a dealer system with a wider spread)
None of the above? leave comments in the thread if I missed any!

Thank you!

Hi Mazeinc,

If i am understanding your question correctly, assuming the current market price is say $600: you can place a sell stop limit order with a stop limit of $550 and a limit price of $575. In this example, if the last price on the exchange touches or goes below $550, BTX Trader's servers will send a sell order to the exchange with a limit price of $575. If the price rises back to $575 then your order will get executed/filled. If the price stays below $575, then the limit order will sit resting on the order book.
Hope that helps clarify how our advanced order types work.

13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A new platform to trade Bitcoins: BTX Trader on: March 07, 2014, 10:11:53 PM
I agree completely - we'll put that feature on our to-do list.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A new platform to trade Bitcoins: BTX Trader on: March 07, 2014, 09:39:14 PM
Yes, the application is free for the time being. We don't yet have the ability to trade via the charts. But you can click in the depth of book in the montage to populate the price box when trading so you dont have to type in prices manually.

MasterMark, feel free to download and install our desktop application on our website (btxtrader.com). If you have an account at one of the following bitcoin exchanges, you can link your account and trade via BTX Trader: BitStamp, CampBX, BTCChina and BTC-E.

We are launching a web version of BTX Trader soon. It will have similar workflows to the desktop product (customizable layout, etc)
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A new platform to trade Bitcoins: BTX Trader on: March 04, 2014, 05:33:18 PM
Hi guys, we just refreshed our website (btxtrader.com) and up next are launching a web version. We will continue to support both web and desktop versions of BTX (both of which connect to the same backend servers).
In addition, we're connecting to Bitstamp's realtime feed to speed up the market data.

Are we missing any features that you'd like to see?

BTX requires .NET 4 but it needs to be up to date.
