481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: *Updated* Bottlecaps NEW v1.2.1 [CAP]| No Premine | 0.25 Start Diff |Proof Stake on: July 06, 2013, 04:38:07 AM
Yep I'm on Silverwolf's pool as well.  Been here since he started it.  My only problem, I switch between mining LTC and Caps, so 50% of the time I'm not here.  Not that my hashing rate would be missed much any ways  lol.

Holy crap, that would be awesome to buy Nuka Cola with Bottlecaps.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eMunie (EMU) - NOT a BitCoin fork/clone - call for beta testers on: July 04, 2013, 02:06:36 PM
This one I have had my eye on for a while.  I am definitely in.  Add me.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][SBC] StableCoin ¦¦ A new breed of cryptocurrency ¦¦ v1.2 RELEASED on: July 03, 2013, 10:38:14 PM
Dead people usually don't log into Forums, but not put any updates in their threads.  He has been on multiple times since we have been asking him for an update, or asking about the premine attempting to be stolen ect.  Yet he remains silent.

A "Hey I am getting close to being complete the store" or even "I am no where near completing the store, stay tuned" would all have better outcomes for his coin then just silence.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Mining Rigs RIGHT HERE! CryptoCoinMiners.com - UPDATES ON 1st POST! on: July 03, 2013, 05:19:03 PM
My biggest question.  I like that you accept Bitcoins as a payment option, but your selling Litecoin miners.  Shouldn't you be accepting Litecoins as a purchasing option for your rigs.  And yeah, possibly a pic and spec sheets would be needed as well.  Your price for a computer with a 7970 is quite high, unless you have alot of good hardware inside.  But there are no details on what is inside.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][SBC] StableCoin ¦¦ A new breed of cryptocurrency ¦¦ v1.2 RELEASED on: July 03, 2013, 04:55:09 PM
Lol, eagle eye.  that we know he hasn't done (yet), as people have been watching as someone has been constantly trying to steal that pre-mine but they don't have the passcode to complete the steal.

The way he is going, the coin will be dead before he has any hopes of dumping those coins.

487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ASICS killing BTC ? on: July 03, 2013, 03:48:53 PM
You are forgetting the way the US Gov't is trying to shut down Bitcoin atm, right now would be the perfect time for them to attack and kill the coin.  Not saying they would go to such extreme measures, but the way things are atm, BTC is at it's most vulnerable point in almost it's entire history.  This will however settle once more ASIC miners are shipped to more and more people.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC fees on: July 03, 2013, 01:42:23 PM
The minimum fee is now 0.02 LTC.  A few weeks ago it was 0.1 LTC.

You are all proving a true fact though.  He has been on the forum multiple times, even after people have been stating here that we want to hear from him, yet he hasn't posted in the thread for his coin.  Not sure why after such a great launch he is just letting the thing nosedive, but I can say I was a big supporter of his coin, but have since moved on, as I am sure alot of others have to.   I may return if he shows he is doing something, but I have a feeling this coin is going to be nosediving off the boards very soon.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would anyone use BTC to buy LTC? on: June 28, 2013, 04:44:50 PM
The same reason people use Fiat to buy BTC is the same reason people use BTC or Fait to buy LTC.  There are many vendors starting to accept LTC.

And let's face it.  If your really going to base value on the amount of places that accept your currency, then BTC and every other Cryptocurrency are totally worthless, as 99.99999% of places don't accept anything but fiat.  It would be good for everyone using Cryptocoins to get on the same page.  It's Crypto (tiny) vs Fiat (HUGE).  We don't need to be thinking any cryptocurrency is better then the other until 1 or a few are globally accepted as a type of currency.  Next we will have Paypal customers jumping on these forums saying "Why would you buy crypto crap when Paypal is accepted everywhere??"

I personally prefer alt-coins, but I am hoping BTC actually takes off and is accepted as a global currency.  I don't wish for it's fall, or for any alt-coins to take over as the dominant coin.   Not sure why others can't do the same.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone having issues with Cryptsy? on: June 28, 2013, 08:42:40 AM
Yep, it's safe, since it's Google's free service.  And some computer magazines claim it's actually faster looking via their DNS.  But you may want to return to your local providers DNS after Cryptsy's problems are resolved.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BOT][POOL][PPLNS][STRATUM][VARDIFF] Silverwolf's Bottlecaps Pool LAUNCH!! on: June 28, 2013, 07:01:14 AM
FAIL..... damn newbs, why dont you throw hash power into something legit and be productive in the crypto community, LTC or BTC... wow

I already do throw most of my hash power towards LTC.  I just really like Bottlecaps, and the PoS part of the coin, making it more secure and more energy efficient in the future.  Sure it's a copy, but when you consider the other things in the mix, and the support behind it, Plus it's just a fun coin to have, makes it my fav alt coin, aside from whatever you consider LTC to be.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BOT][POOL][PPLNS][STRATUM][VARDIFF] Silverwolf's Bottlecaps Pool LAUNCH!! on: June 28, 2013, 06:33:50 AM
Awesome Silverwolf.  I thought I saw some post a few days ago that mentioned you might open a Bottlecaps pool.  Looks like I either tried jumping on before you got the site up, or your missing a URL in your announcement.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone having issues with Cryptsy? on: June 28, 2013, 04:30:10 AM
They fixed everything up from the first attack.  Then looks like their DNS was DDOS'ed.  You can get to the site if you use Google's DNS entries atm.  8.8.8.8  and secondary 8.8.4.4.  (This wasn't found by me, but I confirmed it works)
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Fix - Change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on: June 28, 2013, 02:32:19 AM
Thanks, that has me up and running for now.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I get the most out of my GPU miner? on: June 28, 2013, 12:48:10 AM
Those looked a lot like the hash rates  I was pushing when I first got my 7970.  After some tweaking, and help from the guys in my mining pool at www.netcodepool.org, I switched my settings to:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o netcodepool.org:3333 -u user.name -p password --thread-concurrency 16320 --gpu-engine 1055 --gpu-memclock 1500 --no-submit-stale --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 2

And that jumped my 7970's into the 750 KHash/sec range everyone else seemed to be getting.  Mine of course is only a single GPU atm, so you will have to make a few minor adjustments.

And I have the latest AMD drivers, and am using Sapphire TRIXX (Even though my card isn't from Sapphire) to clock the card for GPU 1055, Memory 1500 and voltage 1175.

Hope that helps.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][SBC] StableCoin ¦¦ A new breed of cryptocurrency ¦¦ v1.2 RELEASED on: June 28, 2013, 12:20:49 AM
Is it the network hashrate?  Or is someone else weird going on?  I just looked at the Silverwolf 2nd pool, and noticed the Pool hash rate is higher then the network hash rate.  Even if no one else was mining, that should be impossible.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][SBC] StableCoin ¦¦ A new breed of cryptocurrency ¦¦ v1.2 RELEASED on: June 27, 2013, 07:55:01 PM
You are right, and this problem goes for all the 50 or so coins that seem to be launched every week.  The coins aren't worth anything aside from speculating and trading until the developer or someone else sets up a few stores.  Arthos has promised a store and a money laundering service  (LOL) to be set up for this coin.  The value the coin has is betting on whether these 2 things will add value to the coin, and thus making it worth more in the future.  Or betting on if other businesses will take it on as well.

Lets not forget even Bitcoin had to get through this.  Thus the 10,000 Bitcoin Pizza legend.  Some people had to bet on this valueless coin being worth something in the future.  Right now all the other alt coins, aside for a very small handful are all sitting in the same boat, waiting for something to happen and speculating if each one is special enough to get through the growing pains.  Stablecoin isn't dead yet.  Or even dying.  It's in limbo waiting for a decent store to go up, or waiting for something to knock it down.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time for Bitcoin to bite back against clonecoins and scamcoins? on: June 26, 2013, 09:31:23 PM
The average persone doesn't care about mining. Hell, I don't care about mining. Differences in ability to mine isn't going to make a difference to anyone but miners and if the majority of your users are miners then your currency is a failure.

The currency is also a failure though if you don't care about the miners, especially in a Proof of work system like Bitcoin.  The coin's security doesn't have anything to do with how high the hash rate is.  It has to do with how much of the hashrate is sitting in different pools.   For example, This is purely fictitious, but if ASICMiner's output went up to 1 Petahash/sec, and all the other miners decided they were turning their miners off because the cost of electricity was costing them more then they made, would Bitcoin's security be higher or lower then it would be if the hash rate was 100 Terahash/sec and there were thousands of small pools mining away?

The answer is the 100 Terahash/sec network would be vastly more secure, because in the first case, ASICMiner has more the 51% of the network's hashing power and can do anything they want with the coins.  Or someone could attack ASICMiners network, then with their miners being the only ones left on the network, they would have full control of the coins in the Blockchain.  The reason scrypt is around is to try to keep the network power spread to as many miners as possible, as it makes 51% attacks that much harder to complete.  This isn't saying scrypt is ASIC proof either (or 51% attack proof), as I know people are already trying to design a scrypt based ASIC miner.  But if/when that happens then scrypt based PoW altcoins will be in the same boat.  One great innovation is the Proof of Stake (POS) security some of the altcoins are testing out, as it makes taking over the chain that much more difficult, as you need to not only take over the hashing power of the network, but also have the majority of the coins age to attack it.  Things like that are some of the innovations having alt-coins bring to the table.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time for Bitcoin to bite back against clonecoins and scamcoins? on: June 26, 2013, 07:35:19 PM
What I find funny is people that continue to make the comments that LTC is worthless because there are limited places you can spend them.  BTC was in the same boat not long ago, and I am pretty sure no matter how many sites BTC is accepted, anyone would be a fool not to think that exponentially more places accept fiat.  Should we be saying BTC is worthless because according to the marketplace only a small number of places accept BTC?

A bad argument to try pushing upon people, especially ones that are on your side.  It's funny, it's very common to see Bitcoin users constantly call for all alts to be destroyed, yet when you go to other forums, never once have I seen people wanting to overthrow Bitcoin and take over as the king of the cryptocurrencies.  Makes it seem like you're scared of losing that title.

Instead of spending all this time trying to push down other cryptocurrencies, why not spend that time and energy trying to recruit some places to actually accept your coin.  That would benefit BTC alot more then trying to rally a 51% attack on all alts would.  Plus the last thing BTC needs right now is more negative press.  Serious businesses won't venture into a currency that looks more like the wild west then a functioning business platform.
