I've long considered myself a libertarian, but until recently I believed in small government. Now I believe in no government. Yes, I'm an anarchist. No I don't think disorder is good. I am an anarchist based on the non-aggression principle. That is, it is immoral to initiate the use of force against another person. Any other political party may be more or less just based on how much force (I.e law) is used, but only with the elimination of government can we eliminate institutionalized violence. eBay forbids the selling of currency. They will suspend your account.
Really? http://coins.shop.ebay.com/I think it's more of the "you must sell something tangible" rule. For example, I doubt a band could sell mp3 albums on eBay. I'm going off of a message eBay sent to me today after my posting to sell bitcoin was flagged. The message says the posting was removed after a review determined that the listing was selling a currency....specifically.

Be cautious. I currently have several BTC listings on eBay (I am TokDiYel). One of them was flagged for TOU violations, specifically: Currency cannot be sold on eBay.
I think I will either stop selling, or do something like put them onto a USB stick or CD or something...
Shame, too. My flagged post was for 10 bitcoins and had been bid up to $405 and ending this eve.

Ebay specifically prohibits the sale of currency. I know, because I tried to sell 10 as an experiment, some dick flagged my listing, and eBay sent me a message with clear threats of shutting down my account if I ever list one again.
Anyone know a way around this?

Wow, what a roller-coaster! Down to $20, straight back up to $25. Down to $22 now. I'm sure it'll get even more interesting. Where's it gonna land? Any bets?

Listened to your first song, P2P. Actually pretty trippy. I'll check it out more later.

It's a foreign concept and I understand where the author is coming from. In the end, though, he says "it will be shut down because it's anonymous." There seems to me to be a contradiction in that statement somewhere.
That being said, government action is a huge risk factor. It will show a lot about our government if they use threats of violence (i.e. make a law) against us for trading nothing but strings of numbers among our computers.

Bitcoin hasn't left the underground.
Yes, that's more accurate.
|
|
|
Would I follow bitcoin underground? Well, because of the thought police monitoring the Internet currently, I will say the opposite of what I really think.
NO WAY, MAN!
Seriously, though, I'd argue that it's already underground.

Yeah, who knows the origins of slang, but I feel like many slang words are just shortened versions of the original word. Maybe we'll say something like: My new car cost me 10 bits.
Whenever I am writing about Bitcoin, though, I've already gotten into the habit of writing BTC, because it's quicker.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
I don't believe in God, but if I did, it would be the Internet God.

I really wish that the sender could attach a message to the payment. It would be great to know where donations are coming from. It would be great to get a personal message along with the transaction.
In the future, I guess. The way that Bitcoin is growing , it doesn't seem like it'll be too long...
HAHAHA they can't win, this is so amazing!
Triforcelink: haven't I seen you on YouTube? You're right, they can't win. It's one thing to screw the music labels with bitorrent. It's quite another thing to screw the federal reserve with Bitcoin. This is so much bigger. So much more important. They will try and stop Bitcoin but they will fail. Peace.

High of $28.68 as of 12:15 am EST.
Some big investors getting in?
Glad I went with my gut and bought at $22.50.

Perhaps this is in anticipation of Bitcoin's Al Jazzeera debut?
$24.30

I've got bitcoincharts.com in a small window on my desktop computer 24 hours a day. It updates the price automatically every minute.

You think this will affect the market negatively? I'm not sure - could be some truth in the saying "there's no such thing as bad press."
BUT I agree with other posters here - the best way to positively promote bitcoin is to use it for legitimate trade. Sure, the war on drugs is a complete disaster and 90% of drug violence could end tomorrow if all drugs were legal, but IMHO it's best to stay away from hard drugs regardless of legality, and therefore I'd like to see bitcoin being used for less illicit purposes.

Ron Paul may be the best candidate, but even if did have a chance of winning, what a waste of money and resources. When we try to work within the system (i.e. voting) we are validating, endorsing, and supporting the existing, corrupt system.
Bitcoin is working outside the system. Don't hand it over to the politicians, however well-intentioned they might be. This is our money.
Democracy is nothing more than a suggestion box for slaves.
