1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin heading to 1000 which alts will survive? on: October 21, 2013, 08:52:33 PM
all clone of bitcoin wont survive. only coin with innovation or unique or science value will rise - like PPC,NVC,Prime now. The speed of cryptocurrency has also a big matter. Prime is 12x faster then BTC, NVC and PPC should be fast when more people will make POS block. Another big factor is hard work of devs + promotion.
Agreed, any clones of bitcoin will suffer the technical issues or failures. Any digital currency with a more unique approach will survive the clones, but how many out there are actually unique and not just a copy/paste of the bitcoin code with the title renamed? I only know of one.
which one is that?  Smiley
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 21, 2013, 08:51:56 PM
Litecoin took some hits lately like the shutdown of the only LTC stock exchange Litecoinglobal and Atlantis.

There is innovation and development going on. For eg just yesterday a new LTC stock exchange launched and another interesting one is to be launched in the near future. https://www.litecoininvest.com & https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4582.msg50201.html#msg50201 CipherTrade.com

MtGox will list LTC eventually. Some say will happen this November according to answers received from Gox.

by the time gox lists LTC, i fear that so much time will have passed that gox will not even matter that much to the btc economy.
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anyone tried to measure mood to predict trend? on: October 21, 2013, 08:49:29 PM
Someone made a bot which buys or sells on certain buzzwords in the BTC-E Trollbox ^^
As far as I know it lost money (was only a small amount for fun though)

Well, if it can do that reliably, they only need to flip the buy and sell commands  Grin .
i used the trollbox bot and lost 0.5 btc so yeah, flip it and it will work  Smiley

Is the trollbox bot available somewhere with a link? Would love to look at it.

not sure if that post was serious LOL..... but i'd love to check it out too. link anyone?
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 21, 2013, 08:48:51 PM
im glad i have been all in for a while, but boy am i getting worried that this will reverse soon!

Same, i'm looking at the depths. big ask walls ahead on both gox and stamp. Maybe a bigger correction is coming, if it doesn't go higher in the next 24hours, it will probably go down and shake weak hands.

All of the alts in the top 10 marketcap are taking a dive. http://coinmarketcap.com/

Does this typically precede a correction?

naw btc rises like this, all alts fall together.....

can anyone comment on the returns they are seeing from this? worth buying into? thanks.

I made some returns trading up to 40 GH/s back and forth. Around 0.5 BTC + the mining income. Most likely I was just lucky, though. I don't really understand how people overvalue this hashpower so much.
that's what i don't get. it just seems like a bad move to make given other investment options. the only way it works, it seems, is because so many people overvalue the hashpower, so basically just passing the buck onto the next gullible person. kind of like the bitcoin potato....
1091  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone worried how fast BTC is climbing in price? on: October 21, 2013, 08:31:41 PM
This whole move started since Second Market entered the game. They can drive up price to 1k in no time as they have quite a few billionaire clients buying whatever they pitch and Bitcoin is their featured top investment right now.

I find it surprising people don't get it and come up with various crap explanations like "Silk road" this or "US gov shutdown" that.

Angry birds market cap sits at $7 billion. A revolutionary payment system like Bitcoin should sit somewhere at $200 billion atm and it barely touched $2billion. Bitcoin is hugely undervalued. Price should be somewhere around $20k/Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has a potential market cap in the trillions. Mastercoin built on top of it puts it at least at 5 trillion (Forex level). Readjust your calculations.

Wait, master coin does what?

(Disclaimer: I own master coins)

Other then that- YES I am VERY worried how fast the price is climbing. As thrilling as it all is, the faster it climbs the harder it crashes tends to be my thoughts. If it's going to be a trillion dollar thing, I'm more then happy to wait ten years for it.

exactly how i feel. we're going up so fast, it's starting to feel like april. gosh, watching it crash below 200 down to 50 was an incredible and sickening feeling!

1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC Coin Supply Rate on: October 21, 2013, 07:41:30 PM
Are you sure that 55K coins are created daily?

no idea i'm collecting cheapies off bottom the exchange = weak hands!!!  Grin T3RR4C((((((01NNNNN

Really? Wow, good luck. Of all the older alt-coins, TRC looked to me like it was one of the most assured to die off a slow, painful death.

lol no imo Devcoin is prolly the worst ~ its like a virus!  Roll Eyes

(Shrug.) I support the theory and ethics behind devcoin, but I don't buy it hoping to catch a pump and dump. With TRC, you can only hope for a pump that, at this point, may never come.....

~*~TRC~*~you can talk about it or you can be about it! dvc ethics now thats hilarious!!! Grin

i like dvc.  Cheesy

DGC bouncing a bit here!~ the name seems like an obvious winner!  Grin

You read the DGC thread and it's all hardcore propaganda...
No talk of price or any problems whatsoever = Heavily Moderated, baby?

Nice try.  I guess the first thing you need to do is learn how to read.   Shocked

1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zerocoin is like Bitcoin, Except It's Actually Anonymous on: October 11, 2013, 05:57:53 PM
As far as I know zerocoin is in alpha state at this moment, so it needs time and more active devs.
this was my understanding as well, though to be honest, it has been a while since this has crossed my radar. any new information about zerocoin as of late?
