If it was a 51% attack then it would have been possible for an attacker to:
1. Deposit IFC 2. Sell IFC for another coin 3. Reverse the IFC deposit (double spend by sending the coins from the original deposit transaction to another address, on a stronger version of the blockchain) 4. Optionally, repeat.
At this point the buyers of the dumped coins have an IFC balance, but because of the double spend the exchange doesn't actually hold 100% of the sum of all customer balances in their wallet. The exchange is technically insolvent (for IFC) since it does not hold 100% of the coins that customers have purchased, and will not be able to pay everyone their IFC.
Thanks for the info man, do you think there's any way to recover these IFC under the situation? Cryptopia is nearly impossible to talk to , and from what you said, seems like trying to get my IFC is a lost cause. I am open to any/all suggestions/ideas if possible to get these IFC back into my possession Thank you

how many coins u had there? I understand your curiousity to ask this question, but hope you understand for anyone holding any coins, not smart to publicly announce how many coins a person holds (no matter the situation) I have some, and am trying to contact Cryptopia support for 2 months already, they replied last month telling me I will be able to withdraw and closed that ticket. Was never able to withdraw, so created a new ticket last month and they have never replied to that one yet.

Awesome that's good news. So I don't miss anything? Thanks for your fast response As long as you registered your BTC address, (sign/verified sig message) on or before Jan 7th then you should be ok, afaik

@bitcoinrh
I am trying to register wallet account and I am getting error message:
"Sorry, but your registered BTC address is beyond our 840K BTR limit"
I see many others getting same error. Can you please instruct us, what do we need to do for claiming our BTR?
Thank you

yes, just wait, and they'll automatically give to you on Jan 25/26. You can also follow their Twitter https://twitter.com/YobitExchange they announce when give coins there

Joneskay, the fork is coming at block height 505888, (check here for block height, right now is 505176) so that should be around Jan25 or 26 Make sure you're coins are at Yobit, Okex and/or Exrates, if you have your coins there, make sure you have enabled 2fa for security. If you do these simple instructions, then those exchanges will automatically give your BitcoinAtom coins ok?

Thanks for the update guys.... looking forward to BTR!

Why only Yobit ? My bitcoins in my ledger wallet and binance exchange. What kind of a fork is that ? Why only yobit users can take fork coins ?
Yobit, Okex, & Exrates ... according to their site

I will deposit it in YOBIT! Thank you
Yes, if you hold BTC in wallet at Yobit, they will give you BCA after fork (block 505888) Make sure your Yobit account have 2fa enabled, be safe! when can we check this? check blockexplorer.com you can see what is current block height, when it reaches 505888 is when fork happen, so shortly after that Yobit or Okex should give your coins automatically to your wallet

I see option in Latium Dashboard to "withdraw your coins" has anyone done this yet? We can have the tokens withdrawn to our non-exchange-based ETH address (myetherwallet)?
(although, i do not see LATX listed in Myetherwallet tokens list)
Please let me know
Thank you
