Please start paying divs. We are mining for quite some time now. I would at least like to see that you are technically capable of paying divs. What is causing the hold up?
122  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 21, 2014, 05:46:05 AM
THX for the links. Seems to suck. Let's see what happens.

Edit: Bad typos as usual
123  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 20, 2014, 10:25:41 PM
OK I seem to have missed several pages here. Could someone please point me to the relevant LRM post about these regulatory issues. I gather there isn't much but anyway... THX
124  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: March 04, 2014, 03:29:49 PM
Hi, I made a transaction for 2 BTC this morning and it has still not confirmed, the blockchain says "Estimated Confirmation Time Within 6 Blocks (Medium Priority) and then there is a Confirmation Warning message to say "The Transaction Fee is Less than Recommended"

I did not set the transaction fee 0.0001 BTC it was automatically set when I broadcasted the transaction via Armory.

1) How long will I have to wait for the confirmations to show?
2) Can I manually change the transaction fee for future payments through the Armory client?

Thanks

Yes you can change it. Somewhere under settings or tools. You may have to go to expert mode.
125  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (500 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: February 25, 2014, 03:58:44 PM
... any update on the dividends? How will they be sent? will they go to the BTC address that was signed and on my account page?

Or better will there ever be any at all? Maybe icedrill was ment to be a secret mining operation to make BTC to save GOX...

Would be nice If at least a satoshi or two per share would be payed out soon. This would show that a system is actually in place to pay dividends.
126  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: February 21, 2014, 04:02:41 PM
So for giggles, I just mined ~$2.6 million worth of BTC.... On Testnet.

Leave me my illusions...  :sigh:

grnbrg.

Edit:  Bumped it up to over $8 million.  I can Test-retire to the Test-Bahamas now.

Please send some to GOX so they can fix their potential liquidity issues.
127  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (500 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: February 18, 2014, 07:38:48 PM
Quick update:

1. Heads up: Incoming testing invitation from info@cryptomex.io.
2. Stabilization work going well, ongoing along with full mine audit. Will share consolidated report when complete.
3. If you're a confirmed investor you can see the current mine state @ https://www.icedrill.io/minestate (has been the case for about a week now). Working on better (over time graphing) visualization, will follow when rdy.
4. Final draft of financial report has been done. Traveling at the moment, will post when I get back.

Some of you have heard me say this in the last few days:

Stabilizing a stack of engineering Sierras is not dissimilar from taming a wild, mathematical horse. The experience is magical Smiley

I can't log in.  I have username, password right. I set up 2FA and it never worked.  All I get is "invalid token" when trying to sign in. I copied the 'secret key' directly into WinAuth. "Forgot Password" function is useless.

Waste of 10 minutes.

Undecided

I first had the same problem. You have to create the opposite of a time based token n authenticator. So you just refresh manually every time.

Feature request. Please have a functionality to show the token once more if required so it is easier to set up  2FA on multiple devices.
128  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (500 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: February 17, 2014, 04:34:56 PM

We never know what will happen to those exchanges, bitfunder is gone, BTCT is gone, and decentralized exchanges are at an early stage.

Agreed. Right now it's all about responsibility, trust and technical adoption. Right now I love Ripple, Ethereum and Mastercoin equally (personal, researched opinions). Right now there are too many wild technical/software/regulatory horses to ride comfortably...

I'd throw CounterParty in the mix and arguably on top as a superior near-term solution to all of the above. Ethereum has not yet launched, Mastercoin is not feature complete and Ripple doesn't have the decentralized power of the Bitcoin blockchain behind it. I'm a fan of all of the solutions and have invested or plan to invest in each - no need to turn this thread into a flamefest. I'd just throw it out there that CounterParty is functional today and seems like a real competitor.

Let's not forget about OT.

@DeaDTerra

What is the divident payout scheme? Monthly, weekly...? When will the first dividends be payed out?
130  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: January 10, 2014, 08:00:55 PM
I'm not planning on buying GHS on CEX, no worries.

But I'm also not moving over the rest of the HW due to the high network percentage.

Buying back bonds right now is just not a good idea as I'm trying to raise as much funds as possible to get LRM to expand.  There are a couple projects going on that are limiting LRMs flow of cash making that move irresponsible.

I'd have no problem with this in April or so.

I'm likely going to take the alt coins for the time being to use 100% toward hardware.

Are we going to be part of 21e6?
131  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: January 10, 2014, 01:34:26 PM
Buying GH on CEX is a bad idea, imo.

A better idea would be for LR to buy LRM bonds from people selling them. And deleting the acquired amount from the list of outstanding bonds.

Good point

This is a tried and true strategy for companies which feel their share (bonds) are undervalued. It is also a huge confidence statement on the part of management.
Agreed.

Check out the Open Transactions update and video from Fellowtraveler

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=212490.msg4283648#msg4283648

The tool is evolving quickly and it looks as if it could manage the exchange / bond side of LRM

+1 OT will do it!
133  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ColdPi - Offline bitcoin wallet on a Raspberry Pi on: December 30, 2013, 01:28:18 PM
This is pretty cool. Now I'll have something to do with my raspberry pi I got for Christmas.

Glad you liked it, if anyone has any suggestions on other relevant software that I can add to the Cold Pi please let me know.

As previously mentioned, all compiled code is available freely for download. You can also choose to pay for the kit or the SD card alone if you don't have the knowledge or time to deal with it.

Could you also fit a browser and the offline version of https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/ in? That would be awesome. I could replace a whole PC with this setup.
134  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ColdPi - Offline bitcoin wallet on a Raspberry Pi on: December 29, 2013, 08:15:31 PM
Love the project. THX. Would prefer just an SD card image as I already have the hardware. Armory is the best wallet for my purposes. I hoped for a long time that someone would provide a ready made image. I there a downlad link somewhere? ;-) Which one is the best dumb dedicated printer for the Armory paper backups?

When are we getting divs? I need some new alpaca socks.

I just got mine. THX.

Edit: Divs not socks!

Merry Christmas!

Here are some brand new videos of this app:

===> P.S. in the videos, I mention a couple of articles. Here are the links to those articles:

THX FT! How is that with the password when cash is exported. You set it to "blabla". You didn't need it to import, though. Or was it copied to clipboard together with the rest? Is a PW just needed for the blinding process?
137  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: December 22, 2013, 09:05:42 AM
Guys,

I am using Armory as my main bitcoin wallet. However, I keep seeing [[change received]] with this associated bitcoin address. Do I use this address to receive bitcoin, still? This is why it's confusing. It's irrelevant to show "[[change received]]" in my wallet, just my bitcoin address. I hope you can fix this on the next version. Thanks!

I guess its a feature not a bug. You receive change to other addresses then the input addresses. This is good. I have not looked fully into this but receiving change onto another address then the input addresses somehow protects your privacy plus you would even be safe if quantum computer would exist as you could easily never use the same address twice. I am not sure if you can configure if armory receives change to the same address or to a new address which will be labeled [[change received]]. What you can do, however, is use coin control in expert mode so you can set everything manually. Please make sure you don't end up being the guy who pays 200 BTC transaction fees because of a number entered in the wrong field.

Dividends have gone out, enjoy your fresh coins everyone.  Go buy a pizza and regret it in 3 years  Wink

Funny: My wife and I just ordered curry tonight with some of last weeks divs. You have to keep the coins rolling in order to increase the value of the coins you're holding. I very much like the MM news.
139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Swiss parliamentary postulate: Bitcoin is a currency on: December 18, 2013, 05:22:22 AM
I'm not really convinced the parliament should recognize bitcoins as a currency like e.g. CHF, USD. What advantages would this recognition provide aside from having recognition from a parliament? Less taxes?
Also, wouldn't it be enough if the parliament recognizes it as a legal asset or commodity (like gold, silver, etc.)?

Commodity would not be desriable as you would have to pay VAT on it (except for gold in bullions). So if you sell me your cake for BTC we would both have to pay VAT. This would basically kill legal BTC trade in Switzerland. And yes, I think it is very desirable to have legal clarity. No medium to big businesses would want to sell things for BTC if it is not properly defined how to handle it.
