1721  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitebtc.com - SCAM!!! on: July 03, 2018, 06:15:57 PM
I have no idea how this exchange is functioning however looking at the information you have provided - it  looks like a very poor customer service. You can not tell someone or something is scam without having more data.

I hope you and that exchange can resolve the issue. Good luck.

1724  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders depositors: Reimbursement available (please read!) on: July 03, 2018, 05:53:54 PM
I think I am going to follow this topic to see where it goes, after reading few replies on the topic so far. However I really hope people get the reimbursement. It does not feel good to hear people lost their assets. Good luck.
1725  Other / Off-topic / Green hover color for bitcointalk.org links to avoid phishing sites on: July 03, 2018, 05:45:33 PM
Now when a link leads to bitcointalk.org, it has a green hover color. For example:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0
Meta
"Legit bitcointalk.org link"

(If you don't see it, you probably have a cached version of the CSS -- manually refresh this page or wait a few hours.)

This should make it easier to identify phishing, especially once your eyes get used to seeing it.
1726  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk phishing sites sticky and warning? on: July 03, 2018, 04:29:09 PM
Notice that the real bitcointalk link appears in green when clicked in the forum.

If you are looking at green lock to identify the real and fake then you are wrong. Any domain owner can by SSL and add it with their domain to show it's trusted.

The best practice is to bookmark the site and make sure you do remember the correct spelling. Also you will need to remember which TLD (.com, .org, .info etc) the domain have.

Another practice is to copy the root URL and paste it in a notepad. Whenever you need to visit the site, copy the URL from notepad and past it on your browsers address bar.
1727  Other / Meta / Re: Another Merit Abuser is rising! on: July 03, 2018, 02:37:13 PM
I think you should add your disclaimer in the OP thread, as it does not look sarcastic.
I DID (later) lol but with a link only also used smaller font so that those who don't care about reading and getting the concepts - they miss  Grin

I am quite enjoying the conversation started in between actmyname, Quickseller and bill gator. We need more of these.

digaran....should not be taken seriously.
Without no doubt.  Grin I wonder if he realize it.
1728  Other / Off-topic / Re: how to save google authenticator ? on: July 03, 2018, 11:43:50 AM
first take a pic of the qr code in your mobile camera and save the image file in secret area, (like mail) then scan via google authenticator app.
then if you missed the google authenticator you can use this image file for scanning the qr code.
be safe, thank you.
Forget about google authentication, if you lose your device then you are in deep shit!!! I moved to Authy Desktop. It has recovery system - so, if you lose your device then you do not need to manually contact with all the customer services and ask them to remove your 2FA.

PS: My list is fairly long...

1729  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: July 03, 2018, 11:39:58 AM
by the way I can't find the application form kindly help thanks,
Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin made my day  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

If you want to be a merit source:

 1. Be a somewhat established member.
 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.

You really need to read the entire topic (Merit & new rank requirements) or this (following) will be really hard for you.

Wow, just went through the forum and see lots of high ranking members , hopefully I will get there

Good luck  Smiley

1733  Other / Meta / Re: Email security notifications on: July 03, 2018, 10:23:25 AM
I am not sure if it has been discussed here or not but excuse my rush here...

Looking at all these hacked/locked account issues and the time needed to recover them manually, I feel very insecure for my account too. Although I always use strong password, 2FA where applicable - all sorts of things to ensure the highest security but still anything can happen anytime. It could be my mistake or it could be system leak, which actually does not matter. What matters is once an accident happen then the account holder is facing all sorts of hassles which is frustrating.

Coming to my point...
Whenever your password is changed (except by an administrator), you will get an email about it.

Whenever your email is changed (except by an administrator), your old email will get an email about it with a link to lock your account. The link is valid for 14 days.

I actually do not understand why the email to lock? Instead of the link to lock the account why can not the system send an email asking to revoke the request if the change has not made by this email account holder?

I think this could be a decent procedure....
If an account (bitcoinTalk) requests for password and/or email change then send an email to the last registered email address asking for approval. Send a link which will confirm manual approval for the change requested. If the original user requested the change then they are liable for their action. Now, if the user do not have access of the email address only then ask the mods/admins to help them out. I believe this small tweak in sending email, will be saving a lot of time for both the users who are victim and mods/admins.

Update:
A little correction...
For password change send approval email to the current registered email account and for email change send approval email to the last registered email.

আমি নিশ্চিত এটা scammed হতে পারে, বলতে কিছুই না
What makes you sure about that? Would you please lay out some facts?

Listen, without knowing anything prior and without giving any reference how come you end up with a justification? Your thoughts are very cheap and your words do not have value at all. Mind your own business please. Thank you.

1736  Economy / Reputation / Re: Possible merit abuse (please check) on: July 03, 2018, 09:10:18 AM
PM them and ask an explanation, they will come up with an innocent story. Like...
And these are the translations (I might bring you more in future) we are seeing through out the forum.

Quote
Why the negative feedback? Flodner is a friend of mine, am I not allowed to send him some merit? :/
Quote
He is a trusted friend he asked for some merit and I did.
Translation: Award merits to friends

Quote
...mostly i gave my merits to who gave me ?
Translation: Award merits who send your merits

Quote
Because meriting is not prohibited and everybody are free to distrubute theri1 merits to everyone without any reason etc.
Translation: Awarding merit need no reasons so keep awarding.

PS: It's a parody post. Merit abusers, please do not use it as a reference ground for your merit abusing activities.

Update:
New translation 1: Award merit to the bounty managers to show your appreciation/like of the project.

1distributed their

There are too many gray areas to justify merit abuse. I used to investigate and I gave up now. Too much time and work. In return I made lot's of enemies in the forum.

Things went so wrong that I felt like there was a virtual court asking me for my life history, accusing me for the things I have not done (mdayonliner ponzi promoter, mdayonliner), trying to snitch the reputation I have earned in the forum. I have been called many unpleasant words like hypocrite, snitch forum etc. It hurts when you know you are not the person, that they are calling you.

To me now, these abuses are system lose. Every system has a certain amount of lose and we need to accept that fact. Merit is working fine to improve the content quality of the forum. Abusers will abuse until they have those airdropped sMerits. Once those will dry up then we will not see many cases like this. So, I let them do whatever they like to do and gave up my investigation against them.

If you really think that they abused then my suggestion is: Tag them.

By the way, good work on the findings.
1737  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders depositors: Reimbursement available (please read!) on: July 03, 2018, 08:41:55 AM
After looking at your trust page I realized the mess that happened. Reading your OP gives me a positive impression for now. I hope it works out for all those people who lost their assets because of your mismanagement and you come out clear. Good luck.
1738  Other / Meta / Re: My PM whitelist on: July 03, 2018, 08:23:42 AM
" but because of restrictions on those accounts, we use third-party services such as Skype, Telegram, and Gmail.
There used to be restrictions but now you can send message to newbie (assuming you are not aware about it yet). You need new settings in your Personal Message Options page

https://i.imgur.com/VEalxJT.png
1. Click
2. Click
3. Make sure it's checked, and
4. Finally click Change profile.

Suggestion
I can add newbie accounts to my Pm whitelist where I "only me" can send more messages to this account. [Other accounts will not be affected by this list]

Unfortunately it's both way not one way only for you.

Sorry my bad, I did not understand the OP correctly. I thought something else instead of this...
I’m talking about daily limits. 2 PM/day. New PM limits
I never encountered this New PM limits topic though.

[ANN][ICO] {WORK} WORK Coin- Service Performers (21.06.2018 - 5.08.2018)

These scammers are very likely using ICO bumping service to bump their scammy self moderated thread several times per day.

There is a scam accusation topic against them and it has been proven that they are in fact scam. The entire teams pictures were collected from different websites and Photoshoped.  I tried too warn the posters three times but seems like those newbies (actually the bumping service) are keep bumping the topic. I know scams are not moderated but this kind of bumping should not be accepted at all. Rest is on the mods hand. Thanks marlboroza for bringing it here.

Almost anyone can become an investor of the Easy Work platform. You just need to have a desire and a couple of dolars in your pocket)
Seriously!!!

How could you miss this post?

~
...buy tokens, wait for the end of the ICO...

Did you guys even see the post I made earlier or you are just paid actors posting on the topic to keep bumping it on the top?

@MaryanaBit how could you ask people to buy the token?

Guys open your eyes!
This is a scam project. Do not risk a single penny on this project.
