41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POS] [MASTERNODE] BIC-COIN LOAN SYSTEM on: July 13, 2018, 11:54:56 AM
Why no whitepaper?
Who are the team?
What is your experience with blockchain?
What is your experience with lending?
Why have you used a false street address on your domain registration?

How I wish for a world in which people didn't think 10 minutes work on a template is worth 9 BTC... If anyone invests in this as it is then you really do deserve it to be a scam. They haven't even bothered changing all of the references in the source code after forking it...

43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the crypto market recover? on: July 11, 2018, 11:25:44 AM
Selling or HODLing can be both the right and wrong answer depending on why you are in the asset.

For a trader you should be buying/selling assets whenever you think the price is going to move.
For an investor you should be ignoring short term price movements and buy assets for their long term potential.

I'm a firm believer in blockchain but have never really understood BTC as an investment proposition - people have made fortunes from trading it but long term I don't see a practical use for it and other cryptos are more advanced and better suited to having real world applications. In my opinion those are the ones that should you should be investing in and who I see leading the market recovery but it probably isn't going to be tomorrow...

We can get between $13-$15 / day (before electricity) from a 12 card 1050ti rig.

Please elaborate how this can be done...

Purely dependent on coin choice - nothing exceptional on the rig setup/clock etc.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is It Worth It? (Pool + My Rig) on: July 11, 2018, 12:13:36 AM
1050ti has low hashrate, it can't even profit well when mine in bulk.

They do have relatively low hashrates but also low purchase costs. We can get between $13-$15 / day (before electricity) from a 12 card 1050ti rig. Depends on your definition of 'profit well' but I would say that's quite respectable for the cost of the parts.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is It Worth It? (Pool + My Rig) on: July 10, 2018, 11:52:32 PM
I like the 1050ti as a mining card - quiet, easy to overclock, max 75W power and doesn't get above about 52 degrees at 50% fan.

The problem is that with only one you'll be waiting weeks/months to meet minimum payout if you are on Nicehash or a pool with autoexchange to BTC. If you are getting paid in the coin which you are mining then it makes a bit more sense but still a lot of time investment choosing coins and exchanging them yourself for the payout you will be getting.

A good card and still profitable - fill a 12 card rig with them and then they make sense.

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NORT] Northern: The first masternode hedge fund on: July 09, 2018, 09:05:24 PM
I am interesting with this project..but..your team is not clear..I really doubt...

What would you like to know about the team? Happy to help if I can!

The linkedin profiles for the core team are in the post a couple up and will be added to the next update of the whitepaper later this month.

I got onboard with the team literally just a few hours ago (although have been a supporter and MN holder for quite a while) - you can find out more about my own company at lanticmining.co.uk, heck, there's even a telephone number on my site* - how many people offer that in crypto? Cheesy

Yesterday we announced the integration of Northern with The Blocknet (blocknet.co) allowing for dApps to be built on top of the Northern blockchain and atomic swaps through their decentralised cross chain platform. Progress is also continuing with the Northern Equinox Fund and everyone in the team and community is truly excited about the future of this coin!

See our whitepaper for more details of the Fund and how such a simple concept can have such a huge potential!

(*obviously a joke and to be clear none of the staff who answer that phone will be able to talk about Northern although they will be more than happy to talk to you about mining rigs! Wink )
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NORT] Northern: The first masternode hedge fund on: July 09, 2018, 07:17:50 PM
Is the dev working on several projects simultaneously? If that's true I think he should decide which one is the main project or otherwise they are most likely going fail.

Two projects yes and it's a team in both cases not just one person - just like every other type of project management job in the world I think you'll find that many/most devs work on more than one project at the same time doing whatever they specialise in e.g. coding, community management etc. A team working on more than one project doesn't have any correlation to the likelihood of any of them failing.

What is important is that the team is active on any project (for Northern, responses usually come within minutes from one of the core team on Discord), that the project has a clear purpose and use case (Northern does - a simple concept with a huge market and is one of the few coins that can claim that) and that progress is being made in line with the whitepaper (it is and some very exciting developments on schedule for the very near future).

Of course, as with any project, time will tell and there are no guarantees but if you are looking for a good bet for your money that has the potential for 10x or 20x returns then Nort should be close to the top of anyones list Smiley
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sell your old Baikal miners.... on: July 09, 2018, 12:13:53 PM

...
There is no profitable any coin on X14 ... algorithm.

That's simply wrong.

I want to have highest hashrate for solomining. I will create my own coin and I will get first block's rewards as miner.
Otherwise, I cannot get any profit.

...and this is a ridiculous statement. If you can't code a premine then there's no way you should be creating your own coin.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining multiple cryptocurrencies on: July 09, 2018, 11:58:44 AM
We review every rig's performance each morning - typically looking at 24 hour earnings to see if they are inline with predictions.

We have custom software (although quite simple) which pulls api data on coin prices, volume, net hash etc for the different algos and then compare that with the 24 hour earnings and decide whether to switch any rigs.

We wouldn't generally switch coins though unless there was a greater than 10% difference in earnings and the coin was stable in terms of hash/price/volume.

It's very easy to get sucked into chasing the most profitable coin 'right now' and (by the time you actually get some in your wallet to sell) then the price has fallen away from the spike that caused it to get to number one on the calculators or nethash/difficulty increased dramatically as lots of other people switched to it.

Overall don't try to overanalyse the market - pick a profitable coin, stick with it for a while, watch others but change only when you find a coin which consistently offers better earnings.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BERN] BERNcash - X14 PoW/PoS Hybrid - BERN the big banks on: July 09, 2018, 10:31:21 AM
I don't see any pool having x14 Berncash
why ?

No idea for anyone else but we were just testing with it and disabled the coin when we had finished. If you want to mine then I've reenabled it on our test pool.

URL: pool.lanticmining.co.uk:3933
WORKER: Your BERN Wallet Address
PASSWORD: c=BERN

Deeponion and Speedcash are also on there on x13 assuming you have Baikals - SCS looks good for solo mining as well as BERN at the moment.

If there are other coins you'd like to see then let us know - happy to put them on that pool although it may take us a day or so to list them.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NORT] Northern: The first masternode hedge fund on: July 09, 2018, 09:55:44 AM
Team members = zero proof information(?).
Why is that?
Where are Linkedin links?

I don't think who they are is any secret but if you want LinkedIn profiles then it's essentially the same dev team as for KYD coin. Names, pictures and LinkedIn profiles are on that website (http://kydcoin.network/).
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NORT] Northern: 85% Masternodes, 15% Staking, 100% Community-driven on: June 27, 2018, 08:01:33 PM
So are there any specific coins planned yet for the fund? Are you open to suggestions, or will all masternode coins be in the fund?

Good question -will be interested to hear once the details are sorted as well.

I'd guess from the whitepaper's description of high ROI MN's which inevitably crash due to the oversupply that the fund would be looking at 'safer' coins with a stable price and some history. If so then I'd completely with the safe and steady approach even where that may not be the highest returns - my fiat savings accounts offer 0.35%pa, if NORT can beat that then I'm going all in Cheesy

I pointed a few GPUs at it to help you test, though I do not have a Baikal either. But I am sure we can get some blocks with or without one.  Smiley

Everything, including miners (connection, expected diff/shares) and pool stats, seems to be working perfect thus far. Thanks!

Well, it's a fact - testing code to make real time profit switching and 'we' (I) broke the auto exchange. Going to take a bit of effort to fix the issues and so we've disabled the exchange facility.

The pool stills works fine for mining BERN and getting paid in BERN so anyone feel free to use it whilst we are playing.

CryptoCanary - thanks for lending the GPU's - I've just manually sent your balance and a (small) bonus over Smiley No reason to keep your rigs pointed at us now but appreciate the help!

I see in the Bern blockchain that mining is in progress. But that's not from Zpool.
Is there another pool where Bern can be mined?

Scroll up a post or two and join us at pool.lanticmining.co.uk  Wink

EDIT: woot woot!

[13:48:53] Found block for lantic!
[13:48:54] Accepted 0316be47 Diff 82/0.072 BLOCK! GPU 1 at lantic

Haha, thanks - I see you there Smiley

It's looking like we have broken the Yiimp exchange code - poking around in it now but will make the payments manually before the end of the day in case we don't get the auto part jump started again.

Thanks for the help!

Anyone looking for a pool? We're using BERN as a guinea pig for some new code but with only GPU rigs to hand testing is taking a while Cheesy

Anyone with a Baikal on x14 is welcome to point to us but please make sure you set a backup pool as we've got a lot of custom bits going on in the backend and it might break or be down for periods whilst we are making changes...

Auto exchange is set on so you can use a BTC or BERN address although this is one of the bits in particular that might break - we're keeping an eye on it and will sort all payments out, they just may take a while Smiley Pool fee is 0%.

If there are any payment issues that don't look like they are being sorted out or you are missing coins then contact us at team@lanticmining.co.uk.

Pool Details:
URL: pool.lanticmining.co.uk:3933
WORKER: Your Wallet Address
PASSWORD: c=BTC or c=BERN

Thanks,

LM

(p.s. please don't try to mine any of the other algos/coins with a BTC address - those will definitely fail...)

Does anyone have a list of seed nodes for BERN?

Playing with the code a bit but can't sync past 1708356 - currently 230 blocks behind the explorer...
