1601  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 20, 2013, 08:19:30 AM
What percentage of ownership does the 10,000,000 shares represent? Because 75% dividends on profits of only 30% ownership are much lower than if they were 75% of all operations at 100% ownership. Anybody know?

10m shares = 100% of the company.  Only 7m shares were distributed in the IPO. The other 3m shares were deposited in the BTCT.co accounts of the founders, bringing the total to 10 million.  They'll get their cuts through the dividend process, just like everyone else (Although I would assume they're also going to get paid a salary).

So i guess the 75% of profits, is from the 70% ownership? or from 100% ownership?

So for example say profit is $1,000 dollars for the whole 100% company. Will we get 75% of $1000 or 75% of $700 which is our share?
You will get your shares * 0.75 * 1000 / 10000000.
1602  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 20, 2013, 06:51:09 AM
The current price trend of DMS MINING is really difficult for me to understand. The price almost increases every day, when its value apparently decreases every day. This surprisingly made the buying MINING in the beginning of this round very profitable. The price increases by 20% plus around 1.6% dividend paid every day.
1603  Economy / Securities / Re: XPM Coin Miner [ONLY 23 remaining!!!!] XPM Computing Mining Subscriber Shares on: August 20, 2013, 06:23:00 AM
1 May I know how the estimation of 8-16 XPM per share per day is obtained? Simulation or real data? Is it equally possible to be in the low side(Cool and in the high side (16)? It's important cause with current exchange rate, at least 10 xpm per day per share is required for the subscribers to earn some BTC.

3 you said you will dedicate to this full time. But what you get is at best 1 BTC per week - all the maintaing and server costs. I don't think that justify your efforts.

Moreover, is it possible to provide the exchange service for some subscribers?
 From a potential subscriber. Thanks.

1. Most of the tests come from my tests. Primecoin is about 1 month and a half old, so its all relatively new data to all of us, however, I collected that in some small split tests, and the rest is educated guesses.  I must have started this somewhere... this isn't a current exchange gig. This is for those who want to contribute to mining, that are not, and need to hold more coins, and do not want to receive low shares with public pools, and don't have the consumption for solo mining.

3. This line is very disrespectful to me. I really rather not have you investing, if you are going to question my value.

It is like telling the Doctor, he doesn't deserve getting paid to save anyone's life. I may not be in a doctor, but I would like to say, I am one when it comes to Primecoin Mining.

I think that the BitThink meant to say that you're only receiving 1 BTC for all of the work maintaining mining and for the server costs and that you are't getting enough for your efforts.

Thanks, but it didn't come off that way to me. I would hope to hear him clear that up, maybe I didn't understand it properly.

"But what you get is at best 1 BTC per week - all the maintaing and server costs. I don't think that justify your efforts"

He was being nice and saying you deserve more, ....."at best"   so at the most you will only get 1btc,  that is not enough for all your efforts.   100% that means he thinks you should have more than 1btc.

Thanks a lot for your helping to clarify. Yes, what I mean is that only get 1 BTC per week for maintaining 200 servers does seem too little. Maco seems said he would dedicate to this full time, which seems not practical to me. No offense intended, sorry if my expression is not clear enough.

2 It seems the 8-16 per share per day is based on 200 servers. May I know how fast these servers be online after 50 shares are filled? Cause subscriber cannot get their investment back before all servers deployed.

The difficulty, 30 day timeframe, went from 46% to 71% and is now at 94%.
% of what?

I guess he means now the difficulty increases by 94% after 30 days.
1606  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANN] Hosted-Mining (revenue shares) / BTCT.co on: August 18, 2013, 07:52:11 AM
Q1: Could you get  a big discount from Alydian?

As I pointed out, if the price is $650000 for 10T, it will not even break even, let alone any profit. If there's a big discount, the investor needs to know about it before give out any money.

Q2: How do you get the another 80TH? Still from Alydian?

If the whole plan all depends on the big discount of Alydian, it only make sense you are part of Alydian. Otherwise, why Alydian does not do this thing themselves?

1607  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANN] Hosted-Mining (revenue shares) / BTCT.co on: August 18, 2013, 12:33:31 AM
Spending $650000 to buy 10Th/s cannot break even with the current difficulty increasing rate, even the electricity and maintaining is free. Have you realized it?

With current difficulty, even assume it increases 25% every 12 days. That is the value decrese 20% every 12 days. To compensate it, the mining income in 12 days should be at least 1/5 of its total value. therefore, the value of 1G is 5 * daily mining income * 12 = 60 * 0.0098 = 0.588.

650000 / 10000  = $65/G = 0.65. Why do you launch a huge IPO based on a contract losing a lot of money?

Seeing as how we are starting to slowly shift discussion to the bot, anyone have any opinions regarding this security? Is it worth investing in, stay away, very risky, over priced?

Which one are you referring to? DMS.MINING, DMS.SELLING, or DMS.PURCHASE

* PURCHASE is a very conservative investment and the return is low.
* MINING is basically a "perpetual mining bond". It pays the highest dividends of all the PMBs, but it is still a PMB, so it carries all that baggage. Don't invest in this without a thorough understanding of the economics of mining.
* SELLING is very complicated. Don't invest in this without doing a lot of research.

I will try to explain SELLING as well as I could.
Disclaimer, I own some shares of SELLING myself.

Suppose PURCHASE costs 0.02, you buy SELLING at 0.017. Then actually it means you SELL someone the MINING at 0.003 and will give she daily dividend as she owns 5MHz/s miner. The 0.017 you paid plus the 0.003 you got from the selling of MINING, i.e. 0.02, is the deposit to ensure you can pay the mining dividend for 400 days. After mining difficulty decreases, so does the deposit needs. You may be refunded part of deposit so the rest can support the new dividend for 400 days. The refund is called SELLING dividend.

Sum up, the MINING dividend is paid by the holder of SELLING, not Deprived. The SELLING dividend is mostly the refund of deposit, plus small part of investing gain.

So why we buy SELLING? Simple, we are shorting MINING. We believe the MINING holders will lose money in a certain period. That is the MINING price in the future plus all the MINING dividends received will be less than 0.003, the price she paid to you now.

So the strategy is simple, if you long mining (at the current MINING price and your prediction of future difficulty), buy MINIMG. If you short, then buy SELLING (or buy PURCHASE and sell MINING)

SELLING order book has been cleared and it's back open.  I won't be touching it again today.

Thanks a lot for this. You saved many buyers who trust you and you've proved you deserve their trust Smiley Before the system can auto adjust the bidding price, clearing the order book seems be the best thing can be done now.

Would clearing the orderbooks after SELLING div payout be that bad?

I think this is also a good solution. Does it work as this now?
1611  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 14, 2013, 02:57:34 PM
May I ask a newbie question? After the dividend paid out, will the price of SELLING drop automatically by system? Or it drops due to the market? Is it safe to leave pending buying orders on before dividend paying time? Will they be filled in the huge dip due to the dividend? Thanks.

No, it's the market. If you leave your buying order hanging after the dividend it will be gobbled up within seconds. Caveat emptor.

Hours before dividend. Still a lot of buy orders hanging there. Would it be more fair if the bidding wall in a certain range be reset after dividend? Otherwise many buyers may suffer a lot.

Why will buyers suffer? Are you assuming that the new price of DMS.PURCHASE will drop below the current price of DMS.SELLING buy orders?

I am afraid the answer is yes. Current bid of Selling is 0.002452. The new purchase price will be around 0.022 to 0.021. I think the price of Selling will drop to around 0.0019-0.0018.
1612  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 14, 2013, 02:10:17 PM
Maybe one solution is to lock the fund for a day after dividend paying, and people can only cancel orders in this period. Otherwise at least announce the dividend time one day in advance and warn those buyers leaving buying orders pending. Especially when there's a bot there to help converting Purchase.

The panic sell off after the dividend payout is pretty funny as the price starts rising again pretty much immediately. You're better off waiting until the day after if you want to sell. A look through the trade history will confirm this.

Maybe it is not due to panic. The price of Purchase drops after dividend. The price of Selling roughly equals Purchase - Mining. So it should drops equally. Otherwise people may buy Purchase and sell Selling for a large gain. The price of Selling only comes back if the price of Mining drops. According to figure in coinflow, the price dropped almost the value of dividend, and the slowly comes back after around 10 days. But we can see that one month ago, the price increased only half of the dividend, maybe due to low hash rate increase.

1616  Other / Beginners & Help / A pattern in labcoin stock trades today on: August 13, 2013, 10:10:30 AM
If you look at the trade history of labcoin in btct.co today, you may also notice this pattern.
There're many small buys with 1 or 2 shares (considering the price is < 0.002, that's really weird) to push up the prices and then a large sell (> 1000shares). I'm not an expert of stock market. Anyone with more experience can help to explain this? Thanks a lot. Appreciated a lot if you help to quote in the labcoin thread in "securities" board.
