1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with USD, EUR, BTC, LTC, XRP, NMC, XDG on: March 07, 2014, 10:21:37 PM
I have a question I haven't managed to find an answer to anywhere:

What are the minimum amounts to trade? I usually trade small amounts (<5EUR) at a time, just for fun, and often I get "amount too low" errors, but I haven't figured out what the ACTUAL minimum is, both for BTC and EUR trades. Anyone know? Thanks.

I'm trying to GPU mine on window, with a 5770, and I can't even get the miner to run. I've tried all versions, including the 0.5.3, but they all have the same issue. When running the .bat, I get "SUCCESS: The specific value was set" twice, but then the window closes in 4 seconds and the miner isn't actually run. The CPU miner works correctly though. Any help please? Sad

My miner stop working after a recent Microsoft update.  I tried uninstall it without success and have to reinstall windows from scratch and fortunately with SSD it only took 15 minutes to get it work and run again.  That is just my wild guess and no harm trying.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately this is my main PC so no way I could re-install windows now... it would take a couple days just go get anywhere close to ho wit is now hehe. Any other ideas anyone? Smiley

The fact that some idiot thinks I'm "authoritarian" for merely being unsurprised at Ulbricht's true nature just shows how deluded some people really were. You didn't have to be a genius to see that he might be dangerous.
You're an "authoritarian asshole" because you turned an unproven allegation into an indiscriminate political smear against an entire philosophical discipline, including some of the top thinkers in the world today and some of the highest profile and staunchest Bitcoin supporters.

You didn't condemn contracted murder, you used contracted murder as an excuse to condemned people who disagree with you politically.

By the way - I'm amazed at how many people are surprised that a drug dealer with extreme anarcho-capitalist tendencies turned out to be not a swell guy! Imagine that!

Some of the top thinkers in the world today are drug dealers?
I'm sure you've got a cite for that  Cheesy

He never said that. He said some of the top thinkers are part of the philosophical discipline (ancapism/libertarianism). Stop twisting words.

I might come under fire here - and I realize at this point in time we have no way of determining if the murder request was real or forged by authorities - but, assuming it is indeed real, I understand what DPR did and why he did it.

I share the opinion that the government has no right to prohibit consenting adults from engaging in a peaceful transaction - the drug trades that SR enabled. It is undeniably true that, should a buyer or seller be caught by Law Enforcement (LE), they would be subject to strict punishment - locked up in a cage, often in extremely unsafe prisons, have their life ruined, and in some jurisdictions even be subject to murder capital punishment.

DPR knew this, and the blackmailer knew this. The blackmailer knew that, if he followed through, he would be subjecting thousands of peaceful individuals who did nothing wrong to prosecution and persecution by LE. The blackmailer knew very well that thousands of peaceful members of SR would be locked up and have their lives ruined.

Consider an analogy: if someone went up to Oskar Schindler and said "I know you are helping Jews escape; if you don't pay me $150k I will tell the Nazis about it", don't you think Schindler had the right to prevent that person from making that known - even if the only way to do so was murder?

Tawsiz hasn't anything in what, a month? More? It's become clear he is a SCAMMER.
Ya think?

We need to try and spur some interest back in this, I don't want my investment to go to waste. Maybe if we got some of his info Tawsix might be scared into doing something - that's how you deal with scammers, after all...

So your method of scammer problem solving is to scare them into doing something...LOL...after you "got some of their info"...

Let's see how far you get with that.

I'm not saying it's an ideal solution; I'm saying that, at the moment and given the circumstances, it's the only option I see. If you have a better way, I'm all ears. Odds are, that fucker Tawsix is reading this on some other account and laughing his ass off. I think we should e.g. contact forum admins, get his IP and any other info we can, contact Nefario to make sure he didn't leave any BTC in the GLBSE account or maybe if we could retrieve some of his addresses he sent money to from there (and thus conclude that he IS act or using those addresses and a scammer). I mean, this is THOUSANDS of dollars we're talking about here; just because it's over the internet doesn't mean we can't try to hold him accountable.

At this point it has become clear that you, Tawsix, are either incredibly stupid, or a scammer. Unfortunately, I believe it is the latter seeing as plenty of people have offered their help (even investors, at no charge) to try and keep this "company" afloat. It should have been obvious to me you weren't capable right at the beginning, when your calculations were off and you refused to answer questions. I'm sorry to have ever invested in this company, and I'm taking it as a hard lesson learned for quite a price.

I hope we're thinking of liquidating hardware and cutting losses. Even if price goes up and difficulty goes down, this isn't going to work with someone who is very clearly stealing (which we can't prove since he shows NO calculations and now just "decides" that he's put enough work into this that his debt is paid) and/or totally mismanaging this.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3% faster mining with phoenix+phatk for everyone on: July 02, 2011, 08:37:18 PM
my GPU usage (and thus hashrate) has always fluctuated like a small sine wave from 99% - 90% , after this patch, they all stay a straight line 99% , so that's way more than a 3% increase in hashrate for me.
What's weird, mine went from 90%-96% to 96% straight but the added performance adds 1.5C to the temperature, I might have to clock down a bit to get tot he previous 90C stable line, which means I am forfeiting the benefits of the above optimization. At least I use less energy, the Earth will thank us all...

You're still being more efficient and saving money by using less energy. His optimization made your load a constant 96% instead of 90%-96%, so your GPU has less time to cool. You should still get as many hashes as you did before, if not more, plus less energy Cheesy

What equipment do you use for the minig rigs? Iv asked several times to no avail.  I'm aware you can't always get the same cards so I'm mostly insteaded in the other parts and which cards you prefer using.

Secret family recipe Wink.

Doesn't... seem too transparent to me :/
13  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - A Bitcoin Mining Company on: June 26, 2011, 06:35:41 PM
Thanks for the explanation - I'd say you need to wait until GLBSe is working, including the motion, perfectly until you try and issue motions... clearly it's not worth it to have them up now and then never work :p But in the meantime, you need to make any necessary decisions - that is, move to BTCguild. Worst case scenario, if someone sees a major issue with that (I don't...) we'll move back when motions are working.

Hey - I assume the couple of hours we've been going down dnd up were because of BTCmine? Don't you have a backup pool? Kind of sad seeing 10 ghash idle :p

I can confirm the connection issues.

I've been getting some "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC" too, but not always. Not a major issue for me since I used the -f flag to have a backup pool, but if if your only pool then yeah, it'll be idle a lot.

When will the automatic payout will be implemented? a 24hs auto-payout would be great =)

Or a payout for when you reach X BTC Smiley

Check the other thread: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=8167.300

There has only been 1 dividend payout thus far.

On another note, I find myself in an unfortunate position: using the current language of the shares I've sold, I'll probably end up paying massive fines at best and in federal prison at worst when SkepsiDyne takes off and makes it big.  There is a pretty easy solution to this

I don't understand what the issue is, mind explaining?

Thank you very much, keep up the nice work and go get your sleep! Cheesy (also, my hashrate seems to be about 30 mhash too high)
