Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Mandatory Wallet Update

GPU Coin LLC now has no money and owes the bank $1500(should have never signed up for the business credit card). I originally bought the R9 280X cards for $472 each from a distributor since they were the only people who had any stock of any graphics cards, most likely due to their over inflated prices. The 270 and 240 were also bought at slightly above market value at the time. Shipping charges (including materials) averaged $27 for each item sent due to many international orders. I was selling at a loss thinking that the pre-mined GPUC and the inherent quality that most crypto coins are deflationary would make losses much smaller or negate them entirely. Then all the gpu prices across the web came crashing down and BTC dropped down real low effectively snubbing the market. The 8 way splitter I hired a company through e-lance to create cost me $4500 and it still has another 2 months of development before the milestone for delivery is completed. There were also various lawyer fees and legal documents I had to pay for just to set up the business end. The grand sum of the endeavour that I now have the 2 R9 270s and 20 R7 240 cards that I saved for the signature contest which I still need to front money to ship and now hundreds of millions of GPUC that there is no way of cashing to buy more stock. My private mining rigs have been churning away at other coins and dumping BTC to the Mintpal vote in hopes that this business venture could be saved, but with a lack of funds and essentially no stock, there seems like nothing I can think of to bolster this coin.
If there is anyone in the community that can think of anything that may help this coin, please come forth and share. I currently work two full time jobs to cover my sisters rent and my own so she doesn't have to worry about any more shootings, so my free time is limited, but PM me and I'll try my best to fix this situation.
I think there is way too many coins, this is the main problem! So a good way to fix this would be to make a GPUC 2.0, with a lot less coins, while also making sure all current mined/bought coins remain valid. So in GPUC 2.0 you would have to lower the block reward to say something like 100-500 coins. I think Scrypt-N algo is too hard for new people to use, and the future is all about energy efficiency, so maybe switch the algo to something easier to mine like Keccak or X11 etc. Another thing that can boost adoption/price would be implementing POS into GPUC. Maybe do something like Blackcoin and switch to POS only after a certain future block, but not too far in the future (maybe a month or so). People would be mining/buying these things like crazy, imo. Then you would have a coin that is energy efficient and easy to mine, plus gives people another incentive to buy/mine (not just for buying GPUs). Imagine people would be able to buy GPUs with their POS mined coins (basically free).. now if that's not incentive enough, i don't know what is. Good Luck!

Memory usage is related to the sieve size (-s), and by the amount of cores your CPU has, or threads you use. Default sieve size is -s 500000000. If you find it is using too much memory, or freezes or crashes upon running the program, just decrease the sieve amount to a lower size. If you have more memory you might want to increase it, it may help performance. For reference i'm using -s 675000000 for the 8 core i7, which uses about 6.5 GB of RAM. On other systems with 4 core i5's i can use -s 900000000 which uses about 6 GB. https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dga/crypto/ric/readme.html

What's going on here at Bitcointalk.org right now in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sub-section, with threads like these, plus all the scamcoins etc. is the very reason why the whole Alternate cryptocurrencies section should just be removed. Just let these coin developers use their own forums to promote their scam coins. See how far that goes.. Theymos has been talking about it for some time. And i think the time has come! Please Theymos do Bitcoin a favor, and all of us! Just close it down! Look what it has come to! Do you want/need all this happening on the back of Bitcointalk.org? This section will remain, it's original purpose 'Alternate Trashcan" does a very good job of keeping this out of the main forum! ~BCX~ Yeah, i realize that. But why not delete this section, and just hire some more mods in the other sections to delete the garbage threads about other currencies? I've been doing some real thinking the last few days, and think that this would be the real long term solution for these problems, and would probably be the most effective, with little to no financial damage to others. Sure some people would go to cryptocointalk, but i believe the majority would still be here and to the other more established coin forums like litecointalk etc. But most would still use this forum and that other forum, whatever their favourite coin forum may be. People can use two forums at once. The main thing is that all of this scamming etc, will not be happening on the back of Bitcointalk.org. And at the same time it would discourage scamcoins from existing because they would find it hard to 'get off the ground'. They would have to rely on their own forums for that, instead of riding off the back of Bitcoin/Bitcointalk.org. And of course, they would have little support with the very limited exposure they would have, since it would be a much smaller user base on these other forums to begin with. Therefore it would limit the coins that could exist to innovative/non- scam coins that could get peoples attention, since that is the only way they would be able to survive with so little exposure. All of this still works on the basic fundamentals of the free market. Plus it would help Bitcoin! Three birds with one stone..

Love the idea of this coin. But what i'm wondering is how is the store going to keep up with demand for these cards when GPU manufacturers can barely do it themselves?
The only stores that have any in stock are the ones that bought tons of them last month from the latest shipment from China. I've been in contact with some of the GPU manufacturers like GIGABYTE, and they have been waiting for a shipment from china for the last few weeks.
Seems as fast as China can make them, they are being sold. So if you are not buying shit loads of them, like for example Newegg, you will be constantly stuck in the "waiting for shipment from China loop", which takes weeks, or sometimes more than a month from what i see.

What Happened to mcxNOW being a "Cryptsy Killer"
What the hell happened to Realsolid's volume?
It's just nonexistent.
~BCX~
Guess Maxcoin didn't work out.. Then there is always the *BCX Effect* What do you mean maxcoin didn't work out. Just today they pumped back to 0.00024 LOL ~BCX~ Haha!! Maxcoin has been such a fail. At this rate they'll be adding an extra zero to that price every two/three weeks.

Can't choose which pool to be my primary pool.
miners-eu most miners seem to use it, ~5% rejects
CryptoPoolMining not so many miners, ~3% rejects
Both have a 1% fee and prop payout.
Now using miners-eu as primary pool and cryptopool as backup
I think it won't matter which I choose as primary, or will I make more KGC if I choose CryptoPool as primary due to lower rejects? I have done a little comparing, and It looked like I got equally much KGC from both pools.
I'm doing the same. Plus add solo as pool #3. If they both go down, you can solo a bunch of coins.

I actually had a negative balance issue a few moths ago. Bitjohn gave me the funds back from his own wallet. +1 Cryptsy!
