 Undecided Huh Undecided

Sent a bank wire to bitstamp 6 business days ago and it is not yet credited on my account. Traditional banking is bad but the bank wire should have arrived already.

I should say I omitted the reference number in the bank wire but it should still be easy for Bitstamp to find it, yet they say it didn't arrive.

The support answers more quickly than before they got hacked of 19,000 BTC but they apparently still struggle to credit a simple bank wire.

Share your experiences.

New information from Bitstamp :

"The information on your screenshots appears to be correct. However we recently learned that an intermediary bank, Standards Chartered Bank, which is processing USD denominated transfers for one of our banks, appears to no longer be processing bitcoin-related wire transfers. As a result, those customers who have made a USD denominated wire transfer since Monday may have their deposits returned.

It appears this may have happened in your case as we are unable to locate transfer with the provided details. If you did not receive the transfer back to your bank account yet we kindly ask you to please contact your bank and request a transfer trace."

"may have their deposits returned." Lol.

323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hongkong lawmakers wants to ban Bitcoin!! Bitfinex, Huobi, Okcoin in danger!!! on: February 11, 2015, 12:33:34 PM
"Hong Kong lawmakers on Wednesday urged authorities to ban bitcoin as more than 25 people flocked to police headquarters to complain over a scam involving the digital currency that media estimate could have duped investors of up to $387 million (253 million pounds)."

"The government should clamp down on bitcoin, said lawmakers Leung Yiu-chung and James To, who accompanied the complainants, among them Nepalese and mainland Chinese, as well as Hong Kong citizens.

"The government should not just stand aside," Leung told reporters. "It's simply not enough to just ask people to exercise caution when investing ... it has to ban the circulation of such virtual currency in the market.""

Most of the huge exchanges (Bitfinex, Huobi; Okcoin..) are located in Hongkong. These are pretty huge (and bad) news for Bitcoin, at least the price of it.
I am a bit worried what will happen when those bans will be outspoken? Will the exchanges dissapear with the money/coins due to fractional reserve banking.
Or willl users have the possibility to withdraw their funds in a given timeframe?
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2015, 12:26:21 PM

Fonzie. Come again, please?

Seller is buying his own asks in huge single chunks (1000&600BTC) in order to encourage at least a few idiots investors to throw their money in before we go down.  Undecided
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2015, 12:07:12 PM
so you think this time you will break 210? you tried a couple of times...yesterday you did break 215 (for a second or so)

anyway...do people really care about bitstamp numbers? 1 month ago the exact same persons talked about bitstamp like they would not even use it if their life depends on it...personally i dont even have a bitstamp charts window open anymore

People are moving their coins out of China due to the risk that all Hongkong/Chinese exchanges (Huoibi, Bitfinex...) will get shutdown.
326  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another MtGox happening right now in China! 500 mil.$ lost. Prepare for a crash! on: February 11, 2015, 11:59:15 AM

That Mycoin company was using the BTC aura to serve its own interest, it could as well have promised some anti-aging medicine. The only goal was to lure naive investors of a huge return. BTC should not crash because of this.

It will probably trigger new and tighter regulations in China. Also a lot of new potential BTC buyers in China might turn away from Bitcoin due to the news and think twice about puttin money into BTC. The name BTC will now, more than before, be linked to a ponzi in the mind of the chinese, which results in less demand for BTC at real exchanges. Therefore price will probably go down more, altough not in a flash crash.

"The name BTC will now, more than before, be linked to a ponzi in the mind of the chinese..."

1) The Chinese still remember Bernie Madoff, and this, more than before, links the USD to a huge Ponzi.
2) This fact will contribute to crashing the Dollar much worse than you can ever imagine.
3) Bitcoin/USD will have an amazing rally, but keep an eye on btc/Gold since that will bring real gains, while your paper profits will be almost worthless.

Stop embarrassing yourself. I can smell the reek of your butthurt bagholder attitude through of my monitor. Cut your losses and get on with life.
Protip: Next time sell earlier.

You have re-exposed yourself. Please, try to contribute something more valuable next time.

No you idiot, i just made a pretty good prediction:

If this turns out to be true then China or the PBOC will probably ban Bitcoin in China once and forever. With all the chinese money disappearing Bitcoin will probably crash to ~50$ according to financial bitcoin experts.  Sad Embarrassed

Look what just came in:

Hongkong wants to urge a ban on Bitcoin:

"The government should clamp down on bitcoin, said lawmakers Leung Yiu-chung and James To, who accompanied the complainants, among them Nepalese and mainland Chinese, as well as Hong Kong citizens.

"The government should not just stand aside," Leung told reporters. "It's simply not enough to just ask people to exercise caution when investing ... it has to ban the circulation of such virtual currency in the market.""

That īs the reason for the huge asks on Stamp.
Itīs just getting worse every day, i donīt know how much longer i can take it. Embarrassed
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2015, 11:42:09 AM
Those huge sell orders on Stamp somehow remind of the 10000BTC wall @600$? on Stamp, just before the Gox news were made public and we started to crash down hard.
So can we expect real bad newses or is it just some more early adopters (bitter bagholders) sellin out?

Edit:
Maybe this?:

335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2015, 11:04:28 AM
not seeing it yet...looks pretty weak...worse than yesterday (for bears)

When was the last time it looked good for the bulls?
Is stagnation and if we donīt crash 2-3% every day already bullish?
336  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin is 1 Bitcoin no matter what the price ... on: February 11, 2015, 01:23:11 AM
1 BTC = 1 BTC correct. However 1g of (insert the drug of your choice) on SR 3.5 gets more expensive every day. It seems like drugs are clearly in bubble mode!
337  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still holding?? on: February 11, 2015, 01:21:12 AM
It'll be a while, I think, before it goes back to 450$.  I think we're in for a long period of stability around 200$-300$.  Rising again perhaps at the end of the year.

I think we might get some stability once the US feds stop dumping/auctioning the silk road coins, and all the huge IPO devs (like Ethereum) stop dumping their IPO coins. Each time they dump it crashes the market. When they finally run out of coins to dump we might get stability, provided there is no new giant exchange hack that gives a hacker a huge amount of coins to dump.

We should not forget that there are 3600 BTC mined daily that(at least most of them) also get dumped. And then there is huge amount of new bagholders who will start dumpin 10īs of thousands BTC as soon as we get near 150$.

339  Economy / Speculation / Re: First day I have doubts on: February 11, 2015, 12:19:17 AM
Well today I am having doubts.... If Bitcoin were to dwindle and fail, is this what it would look/feel like?Huh

I feel this is train is going nowhere, too many people on board and the track and engine just weren't designed well enough...... we are stuck and devs and miners don't want to improve fast enough.

Not trolling but definitely losing confidence today.....

Its gonna look and feel like its been looking and feeling for the last 12 months!

Thatīs a pretty optimistic view  Undecided

Needless to say that we are already far beyond that point...  Sad
