21  Other / Archival / Re: Ethereum Will the Next Bitcoin? on: February 17, 2018, 05:11:42 PM
this has been discussed  over and over again, and we all see the potential of ETh but it's still a far fetched assumtion that ETh will actually replace BTC. There's also the question if ETH could reach the market cap of BTC. BTC is the universal crypto right now for reasons that it has been widely accepted which gives it a great market cap.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MyetherWallet Security on: February 17, 2018, 05:08:32 PM
What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.

I think the best way is to use the keystone file. As much as you can, you should protect your private key. One way to protect it is to actually just keep it and  hinder yourself from entering  it to open your wallet, There are instances of fake websites that gathers private keys and transfer funds.
23  Other / Meta / Re: Average Word count as a parameter for a quality post on: February 17, 2018, 05:06:07 PM
it is not the sole parameter but it could be one of the parameters. I get the things that has been said about being concise, but not everybody or not all posts are given enough attention that's why we need to be more objective about our parameters. Just saying.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin for Regular Transactions on: February 17, 2018, 05:03:01 PM
Do you use any altcoin for regular transactions? Which one?

I want to know which alt is best when it comes to regular transactions?
It needs to have two major features: Quick transactions and small fees.
So which one is best at that according to you?

I'd still go with ETH since it has already a well established trust and system. Aside from Eth, I think Litecoin is also promising sincec  it has a great group behind it who continuously innovate means so that consumers will have convenience in using the coin.
25  Other / Meta / Average Word count as a parameter for a quality post on: February 17, 2018, 11:48:42 AM
I've read so many things about the merit system and i think it all boils down to the system just finding new parameters to be more objective. Now, I have nothing against having moderators and empowering high ranks to give out merits i think that's a great idea. i just want to suggest to help out people like me who also wants to be able to join bounties and increase my rank objectively. If you will observe the altcoin discussion forum, the merit system there is stagnant. If there are people who merits, they're scarce.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Cryptocurrency To Watch In 2018 on: February 17, 2018, 11:35:49 AM
This is crazy! A newbie pointing us to an unsecured site to check for advert in what he called prospective coins for 2018. Just wasted my time doing that.

I also got a bit annoyed since i trusted that it will be a credible website instead of a a site that seems to advertise a training or providing information about cryptocurrency. Please stop doing this, in this forum it is actually dangerous to use links like how you did because there are so many ways right now to which credentials might be taken away. Be responsible in whatever you are sharing.

Going back to your topic, I think the topc cryptos to really look forward to are EOS, NEO, Tron, and Dew. Even though the latter doesn't have a high market cap right now, i think it will make it and if it does, a great profit will be made.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need some Altcoin to hold longterm :D on: February 17, 2018, 11:05:16 AM
Hi everyone,
Im a newbie, i just known about Bitcoin in 1 month. I decided to spend my money that i have saved for a long time in Bitcoin. Please tell me some name of Altcoin, i want hold it until i marry.

Thanks for all response

If we are talking about alt coins, I'd  recommend that you choose from those that are in the top 20 for a less risky investment while you could also do some research and capitalize on the less value of coins that are still emerging. Eth will not fail you specially during pump it will definitely give you great profit, so as EOS, NEO or tron.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Altcoin Correlation on: February 10, 2018, 11:04:53 PM
I had thought a while back people said if you are betting on altcoins, you are essentially betting against bitcoin.  However how is this even the case or is this statement wrong?  Because when bitcoin goes up, the altcoins basically all go up.  If bitcoin goes down, all altcoins basically go down.  Aren't they essentially correlated?

So let say you believe in bitcoin and buy bitcoin because you believe value will go up.  Well if you buy altcoins, isn't it very likely if bitcoin goes up, then your altcoin will also go up?  The only difference basically comes down to do you think that altcoin will grow a higher percentage than the bitcoin?  Thus thats the only question you should ask before you convert btc to altcoin?

Because if bitcoin fails, well aren't all altcoins going to fail?  And if bitcoin goes up etc, well then isn't almost all the altcoins going to go up?  The thing that i want to ask is also this.  If btc goes up, then aren't essentially any altcoin let just say in the top 30 altcoin list going to basically go up?  Thus some go up more than others etc?  Because people say to buy this altcoin such as say dash or monero or iota.  However, if btc goes up, does it even really matter?  I watched a video where someone mentioned in a bull market, everyone thinks they are a genius.  Well if its a bull market, does it even matter which coin you really buy?  Like if you were told bitcoin will go up today, well does it matter if you buy iota or deeponion or monero?  Because bitcoin basically controls the entire crytocurrency market right?  And is it even possible for bitcoin to do really bad and the altcoins go up a lot?  Or if bitcoin goes up a lot and altcoins go down?  Because i dont think i seen any graphs or charts like this.  Basically everything follows bitcoin.  So its basically saying... if you believe in bitcoin and it will go up, well you can buy bitcoin and hold it or just buy altcoins since it will also go up.  Its like does the projects of each of these coins even matter anymore?  Literally everything goes up on the list.  Its like what research do you even need to do.  Like if you were told okay bitcoin will go up a lot today, well you could just randomly buy 10 different altcoins in the top 50 even and almost all will go up right?  Because my issue with the crytocurrencies is basically bitcoin seems to determine everything.  Why isn't it like bitcoin goes up a decent amount, and say 1/2 the altcoins do decent and 1/2 the altcoins do bad etc.  Like to hear all your feedback on this.
I've had the same post about the correlation of bitcoin and altcoins. Well as we all know most of the alt coins are also derived from bitcoin. What i think is that in order for a certain altcoin to have value an the existing value of bitcoin must be utilized so that the flow of currency will be balanced. About the trade and how each of the altcoins follow BTC, well simply becuase these coins are derived from btc and inorder for us to convert it to any conventional currency it must go through btc.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins vs Tokens on: February 10, 2018, 10:57:47 PM
I just want to verify if all of us are on the same page about the difference of altcoins/coins and tokens. If you are using https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/ as a reference you will be able to observe that cryptocurrencies are actually divided into two, coins and tokens. Leading coins that we have are of course Bitcoin, ETH, Ripple, etc while the leading tokens are EOS, TRON, tether and Vechain. Though these cryptos could be converted to another, they are different in a sense that coins do have their own blockchain while tokens are derived from a platform(ETH, Omni, NEO)
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like airdrops? on: February 10, 2018, 09:22:06 PM
Hello guys!  Wink

Today I wanted to ask you, what do you think about airdrops?

As for me, I work in the KickCity project and recently we launched airdrop. I do really like the result! We have a lot of newcomers and new people who are interested in the company. If you want to join you can ask the team in the community https://t.me/kickcity_chat

SO  Shocked

Are you taking part in airdrops? Do you like the result? What is the feedback?
Or maybe you are working in a project launching airdrop?
Yes,Actually Airdrop poses a great potential as an extra profit for users in this community. you could actually get a few bucks out of Airdrops but of course with easy registration and few requirements to get extra coins it is already a great deal. You simply need to find or qualify a airdrop.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet get hacked? on: February 10, 2018, 08:47:03 PM
Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?

The only way that your etherwallet could be hacked is if  you accidentally give you private keys to a fake website to which you could be redirected. Myether wallet always requires the PVkey before you could be able to transfer funds. All you need to do is to take care and be careful where you put your PVkey; always verify the site where you put your infos.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts are Bleeding What To Do? on: February 10, 2018, 08:32:40 PM
Currently the cryptocurrency market is going through a big correction (especially to those who have recently joined). We are seeing coins lose 30-50% of its value in a few days and everyone is panicking. These are the times that will define who will succeed in this market and who will fail. You have to keep your emotions in check and be confident that once you have done proper research in the coins you have invested in they will go up when the market rebounds. Corrections are inevitable and is needed for the overall market to grow. So if you are feeling overwhelmed by the drastic decline in your portfolios just take a few days off and enjoy some sunshine. If you want to be aggressive throw some more fiat into the game and take advantage of the low prices.
This is a good opportunity to actually buy a coin. Well most of the  stable coins lost around 5-7% of their prices the only coins that i saw that lost 14-28% were Bitcoin Gold, ICON, NANO, and Populous. Since these coin's prices were down, you could go and do a researh which of these will probably gain the highest may it be for short term or long term.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: February 10, 2018, 08:27:06 PM
The entire market is in the red. Everyone has lost money. What do you think?

This is a normal thing here. Please stop saying that alts are dying just because it is read, even conventional currency goes red depending on the status of their economy but of course after some time, it'll be again gain. Actually, this is a good opportunity for you to buy a coin.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency? on: February 10, 2018, 08:23:25 PM
I discovered bitcoin when it was about $5 per coin and during that time for several reasons I could not buy it. I discovered eth and xmr when they were around $10 per coin and I could not find a good place to buy them. I discovered netko when it was about $0.05 and I could not get the wallet compiled. I probably had around 40 bitcoins and cashed them all out under $800 and I could name more.

You?

Same as you, I've discovered bitcoin at the same time this forum on earlier but i didn't buy the idea of joining or even investing in any of the coins because i was reluctant due to the fact that i don't have any knowledge about it. If only i've started earlier, I wouldn't be affected by the the new merit system, also i could've gotten bigger profit by i know. Just imagine that BTC is at 8k$ right now, to which i could've bought it at a small amount.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin alternatives in 2018 on: February 10, 2018, 08:14:18 PM
What do you think which will be the best alternative of bitcoin in 2018? Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Verge or Zcash?

In all aspects, ETH is the best alternative for bitcoin in 2018. as long as ETH remains to be the second in market cap it will be the best option aside from BTC. Actually there are instances that ETh is unaffected by the drop and peak of BTC, which is a good indication. But generally, what we want is for it to increase in price in line with the increase of BTC. I can't say ripple because many have said that ripple is a stagnant coin already.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can world Government Kill Crypto? on: February 10, 2018, 08:08:05 PM
"Regardless, just because South Korea, China, the US and other countries can crush Bitcoin by issuing new regulations and influencing cryptocurrency prices, it doesn’t mean they can kill it".  The above quote is from the research information I got when I was trying to find out why world government is fighting crypto. Please read the full text here: https://www.ccn.com/fighting-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-trading-threat-government-policies/ and make your own contributions. It will help cool the nerves from the crypto dip we are experiencing recently. Happy reading. Thanks

I don't think that the government will intend to block bitcoin and they don't have the capability to do so. what the government would want to do is to influence the flow of crypto so they could put tax in it or in any transaction that involves it. In short, it will be capitalized on by, just like what yousaid, policies that they could make for BTC.
37  Other / Meta / Empowering everyone for a better merit culture on: February 06, 2018, 02:17:39 AM
I think we're not on the same page when it comes to giving out merits. As a newbie, we also have the capability to give out merits when we receive atleast two. This makes us realize that we aren't only a receiving end here rather we could also acknowledge one another though we are still reliant on "sources."

I think we should post and encourage more people to acknowledge one another. I received 2 merits and actually I'm having a hard time how to spend my smerits but I will do so.
38  Other / Meta / Re: Positive vibe about the merit system on: February 05, 2018, 04:38:07 AM
Thanks for appreciating the merit system but why a new thread here. Post your opinion on official thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.2280

I don't want to get mixed up with all of them. Due to my rank, I think people will just scan through my post atleast if I make a positive thread about it more people will be able to read, stop and think before reacting negatively. I don't want people to generalize beginners like me as beggars there.

Just think of a situation where all the members take the same route. We will have this section flooded with threads expressing same thing.

This scenario also works for my arguement. I just want to be able to emphasize how we could better react to what's happening so that newbies won't be called beggars. Most of the things said by the high ranking people here are correct, "just forget about the merit system."

40  Other / Meta / Positive vibe about the merit system on: February 04, 2018, 04:21:50 PM
I don't want to sound like i'm kissing asses here just want to ease some tension about the merit system because reading its main thread is really stressful. I've taken a great point in scanning through the conversations of high ranking users here and it makes sense that we are primarily here to really discuss about cryptocurrency, investment and amplify the universality of the bitcoin. The rank really affects how we are qualified in profitable campaigns but  i think we are also guilty that sometimes due to requirements of these campaigns we are forces to post without substance.

Another point is, when a newbie(like me) posts anything negative about the merit system i think that fact that we are newbies make it annoying at the same time justified. Most of time it'll make us look like we are appealing for a merit. I think some high ranking people already knows our sentiments and there's no sense in adding salt tinto it. Just enjoy learning in this forum and just like what they said, if you really deserve it it'll come.
