41  Other / Meta / Re: How to improve the merit system? on: February 04, 2018, 05:13:37 AM
It isn't the merit system that need to be improved. What needs to be improved is the inability of some people to read thread titles.

Did you notice that there are a couple of threads on this board that discuss the merit system? Smiley

Well people are hard to change, what you need to is to provide them a track to which they could choose or automatically convince them to merit rather than allowing them to set too high expectations that was not asked of them in the first place. I really enjoy this forum and as much as i can i participate with ample researches and read through as a beginner. I just don't know how to define quality right now, based on what parameter? What's happening right now is  beginner's rank depends on the idealistic parameters of those in the higher rank. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
42  Other / Meta / How to improve the merit system? on: February 03, 2018, 05:11:10 PM
I have some inhibitions about the merit system since i'm still a beginner and at the same time i do appreciate and understand its purpose. Still i don't think that this works objectively since not all quality posts are given attention to compared if a specific parameter is targeted like  average word count maybe.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BTC, Btc forum, Altcoins, ICO, blockchain and Mining, how are these related? on: February 03, 2018, 05:04:24 PM
How are BTC, bitcoin forum, altcoins, ICO and mining related? i just want to see if we all have the same picture of these in this community.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 seems like a good year for ALTCOIN on: February 03, 2018, 04:54:56 PM
From the looks of things other cryptocurrencies are really rising this year
Look at Ripple it is second on the marketcap

Even 2017 has been good to alt coins but we could say that this year will even be better. Just looking at the stable prices of the alt coins already gives us so projections of opportunities to get more profit compared to 2017. Coins such as Stellar, cardano, EOS, Neo, TRON, NEM and ETH are doing great. Regardless of the negativity about the drop in prices, Im still looking forward that a pump in BTC will definitely peak these coins.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is this the end of crypto? on: February 03, 2018, 04:45:19 PM
as we know all altcoin prices are all down, and bitcoin prices have also entered the price of $ 8000 is this a sign that crypto will end? and bitcoin prices will return like the starting price in 2016? because every thing has its time and I hope this is not the time for crypto to expire and in the future I expect altcoin and bitcoin prices to return normal again and increase the price.

Crypto is far from dead. All these drop in prices are normal. You can refer to https://coinmarketcap.com/ so that you can better study the tends of the coins and the drop and increase in prices over time. Crypto has already established its role in the economy by providing new platform for the investors to capitalize in. Actually right now, the market is green, just you wait and you'll see and learn the opportunities you may take in these shifts of prices.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethreum the new king of crypto? on: February 03, 2018, 04:35:14 PM
Hello Folk, is it the time for ethreum to lead from the front ? As bitcoin is going through rough ride along with other altcoins but ethreum is turning out to be more stable platform for investment and also new ICO's are based on ethreum. Do you think Ethreum will dethrone bitcoin from 1st rank of crypto this year?

It still seems far fetched to me if what you mean by king is ETH overthrowing BTC. The market cap of BTC is $153,555,838,225 which is still way far from ETH 's $92,527,130,494. ETH is actually being used right now parallel to BTC due to its  stability but replacing BTC is still a far possibility for ETH.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategy to invest in crypto ? on: February 03, 2018, 04:22:24 PM
This is the Strategy I was following in crypto. This is the example.

buy coin 300A @1.00 = 300

Sell 150 @2.00 (Now you covered your initial investment(Excluding fee))
Sell 50 @3.00 = 150
Sell 50 @4.00 = 200
Keep remaining 50 for long term( If market is crashing you have to sell this proton immediately).

But this method can't apply if the market crash before it reaching to 2x. I would like to know the approaches/Strategies you are following and drawbacks of this method.
This simply implies that investments should always come with up to date information about the coins and maximize the profit the you can get by combining long term and short term investments. If you don't have a capital you could just join campaigns which will definitely translate into profit to which you can use as a capital for your investment.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What I do before buying an altcoin! on: February 03, 2018, 04:06:06 PM
So I thoght this could be of help for some that also in search so they will also be inspired .. maybe they could also ad stuff arround here that could be of help!

Research it takes a few days/weeks so if u're in this fase take your time.

1.Forum search about the coin;
2.Join the telegram group and try to interact with the members;
3.Try to make a post on the forum and also see the crowd sentiment;
4.See some data on coinmarketcap.com , : https://icodrops.com/ , https://icorating.com/
5.Watch this tool from investing.com - find here the explination: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2873063.msg29503403#msg29503403

Doing this can be of help to get a sense of a really good buy... at least this is what  I do.

What are your thoughts ? How do you do it??

Cheers!

This is definitely right. Investments should always go with the right amount of reading and researching. Another important note on the coinmarket is the trend of growth of the desired altcoin and also the team that supports that coins. You won't want to go have a seemingly good coin but is actually dead.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe in ICO Ratings? on: February 03, 2018, 02:54:53 PM
I see many Websites that provide ratings for ongoing ICOs or for the future. Examples such as the ICObench.com Website, ICOrating.com and others.

Which is my question whether you believe in the rating provided by the website. Seeing many ICO's do not match what they value. Many ICOs are arguably good ratings but when the token sales of the project only reach softcap. And there are projects that I see have a fairly mediocre rating but their token sales reach hardcap. I took the example of Lalaworld on ICObench.com they get Rating 3.7 but their token is sold out.

So let's discuss ICO Rating!

Generally they provide a  great insight. You can consider it as a general feedback from people also. What i do is i use it as a reference and cross match the reviews of a certain ICO. What you need to remember is to always do your research and read all the essential information about a certain ICO.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS or Tron on: February 03, 2018, 01:56:37 PM
I wanted to know which is better EOS or TRON thanks Huh
Based on their market cap, I think EOS is better than tron. If we will talk about their potential to give profit, well both are potent and the difference in their peak and drop isn't that significant so you could choose any of those. or better yet if you could simply distribute your capital if you really can't decide.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bloody Markets on: February 03, 2018, 01:49:33 PM
most of cryptocurrency are red for now and down in USD terms,, especially bitcoin
at this moment bitcoin price down below 10K USD depends on coinmarketcap data

is this the best time to buy more bitcoin ?

Definitely. I believe that this was posted several days ago because the market right now is all green. Well regarding your question yes, may it be long term or just a day trade whenever the market turns red it is a good opportunity to find a /stable to coin to invest in. Now i'm not saying that that will be the case all the time nut generally it is.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regulating Cryptocurrencies" on: January 29, 2018, 03:58:17 PM
Great news,A new law in Russia has been proposed which is aiming to regulate and control the production of cryptocurrencies and digital assets in financial sectors.
The newly proposed legal framework would properly define regulatory requirements for cryptocurrencies, ICO's mining and traiding. The law was also proposed in order to curb or stop illicit and illegal activities that might be contracted with cryptocurrencies.

http://bitcoinist.com/russia-plans-to-regulate-production-and-control-of-cryptocurrencies/
Actually most of the countries are accepting the bitcoin nowadays but the problem is they are trying to regulate a decentralized technology.
But it is a good thing too, which stops the cryotocurrency usage by terrorist or illegal activists but the con is we have to pay the taxes for using cryotocurrency.
Not yet regulated they are just planning to do,hope to get a good news from Russian ministry.

I don't think BTC is made to be used by the government. I don't agree that the government should have power by being able to implement policies over BTc since it is a universal resource. If it comes to a point that the government will be able to regulate BTC the universality of it will be compromised.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do I need to sell all alts? on: January 29, 2018, 03:15:26 PM
Good day,
Do you think that BTC is going to reach 20k soon?
If yes do I need to sell all alts and wait for rising BTC?
What to do now ? I am confused!!!!

I think there will be a pump soon. But that doesn't necessarily mean that you need to sell all your alt coins because you worked hard for it and you held it for good reasons i believe. the pup in BTC could also affect the alts in a good way. The fact is you have so many options as i see it. Do what what you think will work like keep on holding or invest in BTC for long term holding or do a short term like sudden shifts of investment when you feel that there will be a shoo-up.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Money on: January 29, 2018, 02:53:13 PM
But you haven't even been here a few years? Lol
That makes the OP's statement looks pretty ridiculous.  Roll Eyes

There a thing makes the bounty hunter gets a lot of money. Since the project become successful and raised a lot of money. remember there are some project that has putted a lot of money to be the bounty for advertising its project.

I remember someone from amber coin reach over $33k from bounty and populous.

The thing that makes bounty hunters get a lot of money is having dozens or hundreds of accounts and spaming useless posts.

I wouldn't mind all the multi accounts if people would actually write something constructive but it seems the campaign managers don't crack down much on post content and only look at basic metrics like subforum posted in, number of posts per day or number of posts within a timeframe.

This is also the reason I'm a pro merit system though it makes it hard for the likes of me who's just beginning  to explore the cyrpto community. BTW, my friend helped me learn about the crypto community and slowly I'm beginning to understand how revolutionizing at the same time profitable this is. When i first joined i thought it'll be easy to rank up because all i need is to wait for my posts to be counted but then the merit system was implemented which i understood. It's some sort of quality control for everyone to be really contructive about this not just for the profit but really for the  sake of interaction and experience sharing.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins do you like besides Ethereum? on: January 27, 2018, 02:21:19 PM
I will choose a coin after a while. The coin is too much now. Which coin do you like? Please tell me some reasons. I will thank you very much.

There are some coins that i really like and eyeing right now dues to the fact that they're building a good trend this 2018. Some of the tokens that i see very potent to be a good investment are EOS, Stellar, NEO, NEM, and ETH ofcourse. you cango and check the market and observe their price trend.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT or Ripple on: January 27, 2018, 02:15:53 PM
The fact is, i didn't expect what's happening to ripple right now since its price is really dropping flat. Though it's still in the top but its not a good indication. On the other hand, Basic Attention Token seems to be really doing great this year. Well i suggest to also consider other tokens like stellar, cardano or EOS. But for me, you could go wit BAT.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: January 27, 2018, 02:06:51 PM
Evryone known what xrp in the last year ( something like 30000% ). The ripple project is workin' like future bank. In Your opinion is possibile for Ripple become the new global currency for the world?

I'm sorry but i think ripple is there yet to be considered as a universal cryptocurrency. Much must be done to how ripple for it to be really a potential and accepted by those who knows about ripple since it could be regulated by policies. Maybe ripple is considered since it's third in the market plus it overtook ETH this early of January but still its far from BTC.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION on: January 27, 2018, 01:55:39 PM
DID EVERYONE SURVIVE THE GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION OF JAN 2018???

I don't agree about depression rather i'd like to consider it as a period where the prices stabilizes. We all know what happened in the last motnh of 2017 where BTC really sky rocketed after that it can be expected that the prices will fall just like any trend of anything that reaches its peak it needs to go back to its more stable value.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice for Newbies - Day trading VS Long Term - POLL on: January 27, 2018, 08:58:40 AM
I know this has been looong way discutated arrund here but I did not saw a poll for this and to know how the bitcointalk community.

A few words for your choise will also help, cheers!

i always say that both is very profitable depending on your aim. If i were to really choose, i ll choose long term. For BTC it is really fun to understand the sky rocketing of BTC's price so as its correction period. i believe that that'll be the same for other stable alt coins. Many people waits for the "mooning" of the btc this year since its in the phase where it drops and rises. So you could go for long term but make sure to keep yourself posted.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get more profit? on: January 27, 2018, 08:50:34 AM
Though its in the different platform i still believe that you earn more if you enjoy what you're doing and i don't think think that focusing on earning more is an enjoyment instead it will just stress you out and sometimes disappoint you if you didn't get what you expected. aside from this, wise investments and up to date information is necessary may it be holding or short term trade. Things change in this  platform so fast that's why a lot of reading and verification is required. Also, this is what make investors different from gamblers.
