Could be.

If his neighbors expectations are that people contribute more to their community than they take he's right out evil. That Joe's a real SOB!

Good and evil, right and wrong; perceptions of white and black, black and white.

And no more messages from nakowa?

I'm telling you.....again my theory....

Everytime a "BTC stolen" story gets bumped to the bottom of the page or off the page a new one pops up. Legit? I don't know.

But it's like clock work. It's like the troll brigade just wants that front page of threads to be tainted with scandal. I don't buy it. Or I should say, I'm very skeptical.

What do you have in mind?

I updated some info by editing the original post.

You're not skeptical, you are dark.

Don't you see the blockexplorer link I've post?

I lost all my BTC. However, do you think I should cry for it everyday?

In fact, I'm busy on updating my BitcoinX (An AutoIt Shell for the official bitcoin client for windows. ) http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=23791

Because I have to work on a virtual machine - I'm using a Macbook air, I had no time to back here for crying...

Well obviously after you had your good cry you were still reading the board!! Your only statement is against me and you call me "dark" (whatever that means) for being skeptical and pointing out a trend.

I'm not calling you a liar. People are getting robbed and I sympathize. I was compromised as well within three days of getting into BTC but I think someone was punishing me for something stupid I did. We all know it's happening.

Nonetheless, I'm skeptical. I and a few others exposed an obvious scam right on the board here so there are reports like yours that are false. If you're going to bring it to the board back up your claim.

Otherwise you are just spreading fear and pessimism and in my world that would be considered "dark".
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin7 - Official letter, following first week of operation on: June 30, 2011, 01:21:29 PM
Directed to both sides (Tradehill and Bitcoin7):

Having read both sides, I would be hesitant to go either with Tradehill or Bitcoin7.

People who try to prove something about OTHERS on a public forum instead of relying on proving THEMSELVES and their own INTEGRITY through their work and their business, do not seem attractive to me to say the least.

I understand it's competition and there's money involved, but I wouldn't trust my money with someone that goes out of their way to convince me that someone ELSE is NOT trustworthy, unless if I had asked them to give their opinion.

In my view this discussion downplays both of you, and for the sake of your business and the Bitcoin community I would humbly suggest that you refrain from it, and try to promote your exchange in a positive way instead of going with negative comments on competitors. This means not interfering on each other's threads.

I don't even mention the Referral spamming which is getting to be a burden.

I'm not using an exchange yet, but if I need one in the future, I will look for someone who is decent and honourable from start (their 1st post) to finish.

This is written with all respect due to your efforts, which I believe are well intended to start with. And I sincerely hope that we will have many good competing exchanges in the future.

I can understand your sentiment but slightly disagree.

First the forums are a little bit removed from "real world" and I think this IS the appropriate place for the members of BTC community, including the exchanges, to air thier voice so the community can understand the thinking going on. It would be easier for them to go behind closed doors but here they are opening themselves up to the public. I think it's healthy.

Secondly you speak of trust issues. I think your understanding of the world of business may be a little naive. No disprespect. I live near Detroit, MI and it is very common to see cars driving around with test apparati and big leather (nylon?) coverings over the vehicle as to hide the design of the vehicle. Why? Because the competitors were on the look out to steal ideas. Right or wrong? They all do it. You drive a vehicle don't you?

I had a Hynudai Sonata, 2004, that had a front end that looked very similar to a Jaguar. Obviously bogarted. I would get compliments on my "nice Jaguar". Did I mind? Nope. I got to experience that "Jaguar" feel for about $10K less!!!   Cheesy

I will use TradeHill and Bitcoin7 both with no reservations.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There might be another virtual currency following BTC on: June 30, 2011, 01:04:05 PM
Inflation benefits the people that have more wealth because it props up their assets, while it goes against the people that earn a wage (usually the middle class and the poor) because it devaluates their wages. The basic mistake you are making is believing the wealthy keep their wealth in currency. They dont.

I don't care who will profit - rich or poor - from inflation currency.

In order to have big enough lending activity people should be discouraged from storing value in currency for long term.

If wealthy do not keep their wealth in currency - objective met. If they are running successful businesses - they have right to be wealthy.

Another enabler....... Seems you haven't put a lot of study into the monetary systems of the world and how one becomes uber wealthy. Their goal is to own nearly everything and make you a slave. At least they want to own everything that can be the facilitator of some type of transaction fee. Indenturing the world....

You're ok with this?

Anyone else failing to have their payment sent out?  My threshold was 1.0 and it failed to send.  So I put it at 1.3, which is how many coins were in my Slush account, saved, and still it fails to pay.  Now I'm holding 1.4.

Do you have correct wallet address filled in profile?

Oh, Hell.  I'm an idiot.  It was missing a couple letters on the end for some reason, as though the copy and paste didn't totally work.  Probably fixed now.

 Cheesy

Status?

Give it a little bit.

Well, it's been half a day.

Mine just went through..... Is your block chain updated in your wallet? I'm showing 133892.

Is your wallet address accurate on the pool website?
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watching amateur finance types flail on: June 29, 2011, 05:38:49 PM
This is a bit silly to anyone who's ever lived in a country outside of the G8... there are entire areas of the world where the local currency, while strictly used for local, small scale transactions, is not the de facto currency. In much of the world, when people assign value to anything of substance (a house, a car, the monthly rent), they do so in USD, because their local currency is ineffective.

In that sense, the only thing preventing BTC from being "as good" is a lack of exposure.

Touché... but I never said (I don't think?) that BTC can never be as good, or anything like that - I simply said it isn't now. Which is the crux of my argument - that real work needs to be done before BTC will become anything other than a geek toy and a speculative vehicle, and the majority of the community don't appear to want to do it. It's massively inconvenient to buy things with Bitcoin at the moment (beyond small person to person trades, particularly for digital goods, at which it's terribly convenient) and the only other argument for Bitcoin's utility is that it's a "good store of wealth" which is bullshit because the only reason it's keeping it's value hinges on it's possible future utility.

I guess the root of my point is that if you've invested in Bitcoins and you aren't actively working to make the Bitcoin economy better, you're actively sabotaging your own investment (or delusional, there seems to be a fuckton of that going around these forums).

Aren't those investing in silver and gold (moreso gold) counting on it's future utility value (currency)? Or is that bullshit too? I suppose you'll say next that BTC is not a store of value like silver and gold is? True but only because a proper amount of time has passed. Silver and gold are largely recognized as they are due to the fact that they were the best alternative.

We are in a digital age now. BTC may develop to have it's value in a niche for certain types of transactions. Currency for others. Silver and gold yet for others.

I have no problem right now selling my metals if I need cash bad enough. I have to convert that into currency. Did I error in my ways when I bought silver at $9.00 and sold it for currency and then bought stuff with it? Trust me, I wasn't complaining.

Real work does need to be done and time needs to pass.  The fact that it's a speculative vehicle doesn't invalidate it. Au contraire, it demonstrates that there's a demand for it. Patience is the key, grasshopper. Trying to rush this into the mainstream is also delusional.

People should stop trowing ideas out their a$$ and try to convince users making it looks like an article.

Yes, this guy intentionally mislead people so that he could use that emotion to create debate.

When asked in his comments section he to provide sources he simply stated they were hard to come by therefor you should respect that. "Just a heads up". Sorry but that doesn't cut it.

And I will NEVER trust anyone who defers to "what will the children think" to support their argument. Using children to support one's arguments is as cowardly as you can get. Highly manipulative.

If only there was some secure currency that could be easily and quickly traded over the Internet that wasn't subject to regulation by governments or companies like PayPal -- we could use it to easily buy and sell Bitcoins.

All right, later on today, if I get bored enough, totally making a Parody site that allows you to buy and sell Bitcoins using Bitcoins as the form of currency lol

But you can't use the USD to buy BTC or you'll be delisted!!!
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help with my builld! on: June 29, 2011, 01:03:37 PM
Well the 850 watt PSU exploded.  The 750 PSU powered 2 of them fine.

I purchased a 1000 watt PSU and it has been running all 3 gpus overclocked for a week solid!  Though thanks to this ridiculous difficulty factor increase this rig I built is not even close to being profitable.

It was worth a shot...

And that kids is why you buy decent power supplies.

Right. Two Gpu's, 850W minimum. Three Gpu's, 1200W.
54  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (1.8Thash/s) on: June 29, 2011, 01:01:25 PM
so what is the average time? and what can we do to lower it?

The average time is a moving target as it's random. The difficulty rating would have to lower in order for the times to speed up.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay removing Bitcoin listings... on: June 29, 2011, 12:58:04 PM
The alternative is a system where we cannot sell Bitcoin through eBay at all, I don't like that system lol
Fair enough.

If only there was some secure currency that could be easily and quickly traded over the Internet that wasn't subject to regulation by governments or companies like PayPal -- we could use it to easily buy and sell Bitcoins.

Lol!!
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Laws Imminent on: June 29, 2011, 04:19:31 AM
that story has 0% credibility. it would survive for no more than 10 seconds in a newsroom, but it's got 3 pages here. oh well.

what's a FUD?

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay removing Bitcoin listings... on: June 29, 2011, 12:45:54 AM
So they cancel your listing and then ask you to narc on others? Classic.

You mean right now..... Keep mining and hang on to your coins. That's an option. Do you just have the one rig?
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank on: June 29, 2011, 12:27:21 AM
Well thanks for plastering my picture on the forum...  lol.

ok we're going to be mining,  hence dividends will be paid via the mining earnings...    no one is getting rich from it.. but guess what.. it's something rather than zero.   The only other alternative is to perhaps charge a transaction fee...  but mining WILL pay less, but at the same time will cost users less as well.

there's no secret that we're behind it (my company) ...  I didn't hide the whois...   but it shouldn't be branded the same as our search optimization business, where we have fortune 500 clients.

at least you didn't plaster my e-mail so I get tons of spam... jeeze..

And someone asked if there is insurance if the site get's hacked?  Though we're taking every single security option we can think of,   Last time I checked the FDIC doesn't insure bitcoins....  if anyone has any ideas I am all ears.

Regarding the above post "in your wallets where they belong"  I STRONGLY disagree..  the whole reason I am tasking the whole company to build http://www.flexcoin.com is because a few weeks ago someone sent me bitcoins to my work machine.. and I needed them at home...  the wallet is fine if you have one computer...  it becomes a substantial problem if you have many...  and a smartphone to boot.

Couldn't resist with the pic....  Cheesy

I don't think anyone thinks you are hiding anything, you seem to be pretty transparent; there's just a lot of concern about experience, security, regulations and financial backing.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Laws Imminent on: June 28, 2011, 09:00:19 PM
I don't really care for the http://nerdr.com's tone. Everyone affiliated with Bitcoin is "driven by greed" according to the post. But that's true of any business venture.

As others have mentioned, the search for anything 'bitcoin' related on the site referenced by the 'article' turns up nothing. I agree, the nerdr articles relating to bitcoin are just trollbait. I replied in my usual tone, just so people would realize he's talking out of his ass.

He states his intent in his reply to you:

Quote
This article highlights US laws are imminent based upon an increase in research activity into Bitcoin by the US courts service.

It WAS total bait.
