6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what makes you trust a new altcoin? on: August 05, 2018, 01:00:52 PM
I find that communication is a real giveaway for scammers, they just have a way of not answering your questions or say the same thing over again in order to get people excited and buying just before they disappear or never develop anything at all and just keep posting things like 'yes our update is coming out next week' every now and then.

People don't know that if you're a good handler of bitcoin, it can secure your daily life. So much for that, bitcoin can do so much in transactions online but might not replace the tangible one.

In general public the best currency is still fiat and best store value is still gold. It is just that you and me are more or less dedicated into crypto thats why we see the fusion of it. But come on look at the world population and look at the number of people involved in it.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Dead" - Mike Hearn on: July 13, 2018, 09:04:20 PM
knowing that Bitcoin could fail all along, the now inescapable conclusion that it has failed still saddens me greatly. The fundamentals are broken and whatever happens to the price in the short term, the long term trend should probably be downwards. I will no longer be taking part in Bitcoin development and have sold all my coins.

If a way can be found for mining to remain as is in terms of profit and function but to greatly reduce energy consumption then that would be a big improvement.
