I am a fan of Kraken because you can buy crypto using fiat. A disadvantage of kraken is that the amount of coins that you can trade is very limited. To trade more altcoins I use binance.

Thank you for the information! Smiley

I don't understand about Merit? what exactly I must do?

Some users are able to give "merit", based on how much merit they have been granted already. If these users feel like giving someone merit, they can. Ideally, if you post quality content, a user, with merit giving potential, will give you merit. Smiley

Poloniex froze my account with my bitcoins, trying to figure out what is going on, support for 3 days is silent ... The future is unequivocally behind decentralized exchanges ... Well, there's a Binance... I'm trying to rehabilitate myself there. Take care of your bitcoins guys, centralized exchanges clamp ordinary people on the money... Huh

Very sorry to hear that! Thank you for sharing. Hoping you get access to your funds ASAP.

my favorite exchanges are currently binance for large volumes of traded altcoins and forkdelta for its anonymity, in the past I used bittrex too, but I find myself better with binance

Thank you for your input. Smiley

Personally, my favourite excahnge is Kucoin. It is a relatively new cryptocurrency exchange based in Korea, that has a wide variety of cryptocurrencies for sale. Kucoin’s trading fee is .1% , it is too low.

Thank you!

For now i love binance and bittrex but i love bittrex more because they have new platform and it's very comfortable for me to trade there

I can't comment about Binance, because I never had an account in that exchange. I have used Bittrex and liked their UI and setup, but I have used it only for low volume trades. The advantage with Bittrex is that they haven't asked me for any ID document till now.

Thank you! Smiley

I often use etherdelta / forkdela when I trade because it is user friendly.  There are cases however that I use other exchanges too. It sometimes depend on what exchange is the coin listed. You just have to make sure that you always logout and use 2fa authenticator to make your wallet secure.

Thank you for your advice! Smiley

Sometimes ICOs aren’t depended on experience. It even has a lot of ingredients to rely on luck. Those scams and garbage ICOs, they also have exquisite websites, rigorous white papers, you can't see them clearly.

Thank you for your input.

Have you ever promoted an ICO, and if so, what did you learn?

Indodax, because it is based in my country so it will be easier if I want to cash it and easier if I want to pull it into my country's official currency. The process is quite fast up to the bank account.

Thanks for the info. Smiley

In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member300
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000

You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points can be sent by you to other people.

Certain users are designated as "merit sources". They can create new merit out of nothing, up to a limited number per month (which differs per source). I will not be posting a definitive list of merit sources (so that people don't bug them too much), though you'll soon figure out who they are if you pay attention.

There is currently no such thing as a "demerit". I'm hoping that the positive merits alone will be fine. I could add demerits pretty easily later on if necessary, though.

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.

While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.

Do not beg for merit excessively.

Useful infographics

Forum users have helpfully created some infographics to explain the merit system:
paxmao's infographic
ibminer's infographic
8Habits's infographic
JetSet11's infographic
zentdex's infographic
alia_armelle's infographic

If you want to be a merit source:

 1. Be a somewhat established member.
 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.

Trivia:

For current members, your initial merit score is equal to the minimum required to your rank. Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year. A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit.

If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point.

There are stats here, and you can find someone's merit summary by clicking the "merit" link on their profile.

Thank you for this helpful post.

In my view, most people here like to see their coins listed in Binance or Bittrex because both exchanges have good trading volume and Binance gives the user a good experience. You can feel that the withdrawal is fast and customer service is very active. Since I use Binance, I rarely visit other exchanges.

Thank you!

What exchanges would you prefer to see your crypto coin listed on?  Smiley
if it is a question of which exchange is best for trading a new currency to a newcomer, first of all I advise the following sites:
Binance - https://binance.com
Bitflip - https://bitflip.cc
HitBTC - https://hitbtc.com

Thank you!

I like Bittrex and Poloniex because I started off there, but lately they have not been the best in the world. Hard to argue with Binance not being #1 and I also like Kucoin quite a bit. Cryptopia wasn't bad last year, but they really have not had their stuff together this year.

Thank you! Smiley

There are some exchange that I often use like bittrex, okex, kucoin and binance but binance becomes the favorite exchange because at the time of new coins listing in the average binance prices will immediately rise so I often buy new coins listings in binends in the hope that the coins will immediately rise.

Thank for the tip. Smiley

I heard that Coinbase is good reliable exchange but I can not register on this service. That’s pity thing but in my country this service is unavailable so I need to find any alternative ways to keep and provide money.
