Hello,

Looking to sell this as a lot if possible. Gear is located in Northern Virginia, willing to ship within the USA and use escrow. All gear is in good working condition, used in a commercial datacenter. Moving to newer hardware. Looking for best offer, cash or BTC.

20X Avalon 841 - 6 months of use
4X Avalon 821 - 9 months of use
24X SORCERER PSUs - 6 months of use
2X Controllers - One is Avalon, other is generic. Includes power adapters.
6X AUC3 USB Converter - Includes USB cables to connect to controller
24X AUC3 Cable

All you would need is networking the controllers and power cables for the PSUs.

If you have any questions/offers please PM me.

Thank You

Check the posts in the Hardware section. I know in one of them, frodocooper, posted Canaan's documentation on
"extra options" for clocking. Personally, on a hot day 90°f and above, my 841's push ~14TH/s with no adjustments.
However, they also draw more power as a result. Goodluck!!!

Edit: it was this thread. Ha!!!

thanks for linking. I saw the commands but assume it is a combination of commands like adjusting voltage and frequency. I need to setup a test machine and try some.

has anyone tried overclocking these? I know Steve mentioned they should be capable of going up to 16TH or so.

ccminerx16r-x16s

Shame those just cause errors and reboots on 6*1080ti rigs
something about memory, before ccminer throws a wobbly, and if not manually terminated will crash sys

Tried latest, and then master, same issue.

Works fine when those are deleted from the list.

Leave core below +100 overclock and depending on the cards 75 or 50, i have 3 different brands of 1080ti and whenever i set clock more than 100, they crash.

another tip is to bump your computer's virtual memory up, i was having the same issue until I bumped it up

Canaan updated their WiKi for the 851, official firmware and MM released...no specs on the miner yet that I have seen

I haven't seen a new version released for a while, should we just be downloading the master from github as I see changed have been made.

Thanks!

Let us just remind you that we have S9 hosting for $125 a month and L3+ for $80 a month.
We also offer 5 kW for $450 a month!

You can connect up to 6 L3+ on one outlet with 5 kW and that would be $75 per L3+ a month.
One L3+ is about 850W! Meaning low cost per kw!

We also offer best insurance possible on the market! Included in the price! No Setup fee! FAN replacement is on us no charges at all!

How is your facility cooled and what temperatures do you keep it at?

Thanks!

PG value describes the power supply condition.

Which psus are you using? Sorcerer psus? Do you have better luck with other psu?

I am using Sorcerer PSUS, switching units does not have a change. The PG started going down when exhaust temps went really high, I saw over 155 on the exhaust before it stopped hashing. I am running March firmware too which is suppose to have the updated thermal protection.

So is it the last miner on the chain?

If so I would suspect cables.

But if it is one of the miners in the middle of the chain I would need to think about it.

What is the power brick 5 volts 2.5 amps

Or 5.1 volts 2.5 amps.

The official rasp pi brick used in the cana kit is 5.1 volts and 2.5 amps

one is middle of chain, i have another one acting similarly which is first in chain. I was able to watch one fail first hand, not sure if it is root problem or a symptom but the fan RPM went to 0, it continued hashing ( i am surprised it would still do this), exhaust temps continued to rise, PG start going down (I assume it was pulling power to reduce hash to in turn reduce heat), than the unit fails, after that it will start popping in and out of CGMiner until a physical power reboot. Weird thing is the fan runs fine after the reboot, makes me think maybe there is an issue with the module. I am surprised the unit doesn't instantly stop when the fan goes to 0. Still waiting on resolution from Canaan support.

edit - just to add, they say there is less than 1% failure rate with these units, I have been having issues with 3 so I must be extremely unlucky. My other ones have been running great however.

Under the listing it shows,"+5.1V 2.5A output" I haven't confirmed it my self

if you look here, there is a folder with firmware for the A831

Check out your Vo values.

It seems that you could have issues with the PMU boards.

I appreciate the help, the interesting thing is after a power cycle things look ok until it fails again which is typically withing 1-3 days.

Phil, did you mention you found a generic for the AUC cable on Amazon. I tried searching your posts but couldn't find it.

Thanks, another just dropped too. No word from Canaan yet, if anyone has seen this before please let me know. If I physically power cycle it will start mining again, sometimes for days before dropping out of CGMiner.

I am going to check the draw next using the HP 2450 PSU , this model

Also note that I am using the testing firmware/mmc dated 2018-Apr-21

Hey thanks for the merit Phil!

have you noticed any difference with the testing firmware? were you on the original or March firmware before?

Hello,

Any idea why a 841 miner or two may drop out out from CGMiner after X amount of hours. This has been randomly happening. After it drops it will continuously drop in and out from cgminer with a primary red LED light and 0 for hash, PG and rpm. Logs show

ECHU[1 1 1 1]
ECMM[197]

However a physical power reboot brings the device back up and running with no errors in log once it is up and running. I have tried reducing the string size per AUC to 4, and only running 3 AUCs per controller for a total of 12 units. I thought that worked as the environment has been stable for its longest period of time but one just dropped on me this morning. Sometimes it is not the same miner and it can be from a different string. I have a case open with Canaan but wanted to check here as well.
