81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]⭐LIVE STARS ⭐ Revolutionizing Live Adult Entertainment on: February 23, 2018, 02:35:09 PM
hi dev, i was wondering about the proof of address.. do we have to send a utility bill? even if out address is already indicated in our IDs?
as you know, usually to government IDs, address are already indicated in the id itself. i need your reply, please.

They always require 2 forms of ID.  One is to show your face and name and the other is to confirm name associated with address on file regardless of whether or not you use an ID that lists the address.

See, here's the thing... I already have my LIVE tokens on my ledger.  Are they frozen?  I'm confused by this.  I did not buy 10k worth so this does not apply to me, but I'm wondering how this is going to work for the rest of us with the tokens sitting in our wallets.

Quote
Shakespeare had some intense opening lines, too. Try telling the encyclopedia industry that their pay model was not permanently destroyed by crowdsourcing. I'm comfortable with calling a successful displacement of the subscription model 'permanent'. Young doctors raised around a trustworthy free medical resource will never go back.

Excellent analogy.  I imagine it is smart to make an impactful opening line to grab the attention of the reader.

Quote
Well at first I do, along with Brad, and we're physicians. "Qualified" in this context means a medical degree, most likely an M.D. or equivalent. Yes we are inspired by the spirit of Wikipedia, but PeerAtlas is not Wikipedia, so don't get it twisted. Medical decision making and treatment is every bit as serious as the military. Wikipedia doesn't have peer review. "Peer" is literally in our name

Thank you for this response.  I did not intend on getting it 'twisted'.  Touche' with the 'Peer' is literally in our name.  Wikipedia has appointed fact-checkers, but you are correct in that it is certainly not a peer review.

Quote
How to you plan on separating the qualified community from the unqualified community?

Quote
By evaluating their...qualifications. We are doctors. Doctors are public figures. And again, the peer review process is a further safeguard

Do you plan on accepting other disciplines for different conditions?  There are multiple 'doctors' in the medical field: MD/DO, DPT, OD, PharmD, DNP, ect.
I would expect a multidisciplinary approach to the medical decision making as is the push in the medical field currently.  As you are well aware, the typical hospital rounding team in a teaching hospital consists of an attending physician, residents and interns, clinical pharmacy specialists, nutrition, charge/floor nurse, and associated students in those fields.
The 'push' was apparent at my school at least.  Interprofessional care is the future to ensure the best care is given to the patient and that is what I preached to my students.  I see this as a tool to encourage contribution from multiple specialties and sub-specialties in order to get the most appropriate decision.

Quote
Yes.
No.

Thank you for the clarification regarding who is able to vote.

You can't 'buy' CME. You have to earn it through research and use of the platform, the same as with the gold standard, UpToDate. Once healthcare professionals have earned the CME, we will redeem them for ATLAS tokens.

Forgive me, but from your wording in the whitepaper: 'Secondly, medical professionals using the site will accumulate continuing medical education (CME) credits that will be redeemable through the site in exchange for ATLAS tokens.'
I see this as only being able to redeem the CME by losing ATLAS tokens.  Are you saying that it is the other way around?  You earn CME through the site and then get a to-be-determined amount of ATLAS tokens for earning said CME?

Quote
Brad's personal interest is reducing physician error and improving outcomes though eventually introducing machine learning to medical treatment and decision making.
In the fifth century A.D., Saint Patrick cast all of the snakes out of Ireland by driving them into the sea. My personal interest, to keep our platform free from special interest dollars, is a smaller task.

I honestly hope that you can cast out the snakes of the big industry and allow a comprehensive platform free for the general public.

Thanks for your interest in our project and all the good questions.

Thank you for getting back to me and addressing every question!  I look forward to your further replies.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥[ANN][PRE-SALE] Skychain - medical artificial neural networks infrastructure! on: February 21, 2018, 07:21:23 PM
Theoretically is it possible the SkyChain network will replace doctors in 5-10 years?

Not in the slightest...

You have to have somebody to properly interpret the data.  Have you ever read webMD and gone through the symptom checker that they have?  You probably have every disease/ailment under the sun if you have.  It will take a VERY long time to develop something that could replace a real doctor.  Besides, physical exams are necessary for most conditions.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - ICO] PeerAtlas: Improve life by making all medical information free on: February 21, 2018, 06:10:07 PM
I debated on sending this as a private message, but wanted to be transparent and have replies visible to all.  I went trough the whitepaper and have a number of questions/concerns.  Overall, I am excited for this project as  I see a great need for it.  Please take my comments in stride.  They are only meant to aid in furthering the understanding of everybody involved in the project.
Quote
The ATLAS token represents the permanent destruction of the world’s most unethical
paywall...

This is pretty intense for an opening line.  The content costs money because they have to monetize its upkeep or it will remain stagnant.  I like this project's idea, but 'permanent' is never the case with anything.

Quote
Because of its highly independent design, the PeerAtlas foundation can direct its community to reward qualified individuals that help its mission in a transparent and ethical manner.

Who gets to decide who is 'qualified' enough to participate.  I'm worried that this could turn into another Wikipedia where anybody can change anything.  You wouldn't want somebody going around and saying the medical treatment for every sort of pain is jelly beans would you?

Quote
ATLAS will transact in two major pathways that directly benefit the project. Firstly, direct donations of ATLAS will be enabled for verified creators of medical articles and
algorithms that the community finds useful.

Using UpToDate as an example, they look over multiple peer-reviewed articles, studies, and guidelines before writing their recommendations.  How to you plan on separating the qualified community from the unqualified community?  Just because somebody went to a professonal school doesn't mean that they are an expert in everything.  I don't pretend to know everything and I practice within my scope.

Quote
This allows contributing professionals to receive compensation for their time and effort.

Will this be based on a 'community' vote or will each article be a true peer review from qualified individuals?  I see that you have civilian accounts.  Are they able to take part in such votes?  I see this as a possible source of collusion.

Secondly, medical professionals using
the site will accumulate continuing medical education (CME) credits that will be redeemable through the site in exchange for ATLAS tokens.

Quote
How does this work for claiming CME?  Typically, these are tied to specific activities that have to be vetted.  Even sites like UpToDate tie each individual amount of CME to each article that you search for on their site.  Are you implying that one could simply buy enough CME for the year and not have to read articles, takes quizzes, etc?

Quote
These direct transfers of ATLAS from the community are
the best long-term strategy for PeerAtlas to offer paid content for free.

Now, I see this as a good idea in the long run if you answer that the general civilian population is unable to vote for quality of posts as I stated above.  This makes collusion pointless and the donations would be anonymous.

Quote
This is to avoid indirect donations to PeerAtlas from drug companies and
other special interests that would benefit from influencing the library.
Quote
PeerAtlas Co-Founder Ling Wu is currently employed by a pharmaceutical company as
a chemist, and will submit her resignation at the completion of crowdfunding.

BRAVO!  This was a welcome part of the paper!

Quote
PeerAtlas anticipates a shifting focus towards the use of
AI (Artificial Intelligence) to create individualized treatment recommendations and
algorithms for specific patients through the use of the patient’s existing EMR data. AI
could work with anonymized EMR data to offer a worldwide live rolling clinical trial for
evidence-based recommendations.

Now this is definitely interesting.  The HIPPA regs would likely need to be circumvented, but who knows what sort of regs will exist in 20-40 years from now.  I could see anonymized EMR data being used in the near future for such a project.  There are number of current projects that are attempting this such as Medibloc and Medicalchain.

REDACTED

I sincerely appreciate this redaction. You should know that I am extremely suspicious of healthcare projects on blockchain and would short 85 percent of them if crypto was a more traditional market.

I will join the telegram and see if I can help at all.  I'm in the healthcare industry as well and clearly I'm suspicious of most projects like this one.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO FINISHED]PECULIUM - First Saving System in Crypto Driven by AI on: February 19, 2018, 01:46:26 PM
Did and followed every step to update old PCL to new PCL successful with MEW and took me only 10 minutes.
Very easy guide with step by step detail with the images to help the newbie. Thank you, PECULIUM Team.

Yeah my only hiccup was that I couldn't name it PCL as it was a built-in token name.  I just named it Peculium.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 42-coin Development Discussion Thread on: February 16, 2018, 08:25:50 PM
I found today a wallet of 42 coin with 0.0036 42s inside, which I mined back in the days and I have totally forgotten in the meanwhile. I just learned about this new chain and swap. Is it too late?

I would PM Lasergun, but I think it is indeed too late.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum can go under $600? on: February 16, 2018, 07:38:38 PM
There is a possibility for everything and also the worst case scenario that it will go down as lower as $400 and below, so fasten your seatbelt and ready your heart. As a part of course for the Bitcoin community, let's do our best to spread the word of bitcoin to gather more investor to our side, it will help to sustain the price of ethereum.

Good thing that the worst case scenario did not happen because ETH is on its $900 mark today. I guess it is working to break that $1k rate too and its possible that we will see ETH on that rate again after a couple of days. Hope there'll be no FUD for the meantime so our coins could get back to its original prices soon.

I would rather it crash and burn and I will buy it all up when people panic-sell on the super cheap  Grin
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why hackers can get into Myetherwallet on: February 16, 2018, 06:48:17 PM
MEW is easy to hack compared to other conventional wallets because two factor authentication can't be used with MEW. That's the glitch of their process. You need to extensively use your private key to access and send funds. There are lot of articles available in reddit with similar hacking stories. So it is advisable not to keep very high amounts in MEW.

Also stop using etherdelta exchange. You need to export your private keys to that exchange and your activities are monitored through browser cookies. That is the reason why decentralized exchanges are not able to gain popularity. Their security are worst.

Read the below article and choose your wallets carefully. If you have a licenced version of internet security package installed in your system, choose a desktop client.

https://tokenmarket.net/what-is/ethereum-token-wallets/

Thank you for that great post.

One caveat is that you can use a hardware wallet on MEW without any hesitation.  The private keys are never transmitted or stored on cookies as the transaction goes through your ledger, trezor, or equivalent.

The use of a hardware wallet on EtherDelta makes it very safe to use as well.  Decentralized exchanges are the future if proper precautions are put into place.  Zero fees sounds great to me.

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - ICO] PeerAtlas: Improve life by making all medical information free on: February 16, 2018, 06:39:58 PM
This is a scam ICO I would stay far far away before you lose all your money.

FROM THE ROADMAP:

July 2013: Dr. Mattson enters a five-year radiology residency.

4 years later:

July 2017: Dr. Closser completes the first PeerAtlas whitepaper, and officially postpones his medical career to work full-time on the PeerAtlas project.

SAME DATE!!!

July 2017: Dr. Mattson becomes a board-certified radiologist.

This is a scam.  First off, nobody finishes a residency a year early and there would be a fellowship following residency for radiology.  You say you postpone your medical career on the same date you supposedly become board-certified.......

REDACTED following proof as listed below:

Quote
Dr. Mattson is a board certified radiologist that is finishing up his final year of residency and you should click on https://www.baystatehealth.org/education-research/education/residencies/radiology/current-residents and then "PGY5" to see his current profile and then you should feel bad about yourself.

I do indeed feel bad about myself.  I'm sorry.  You have to admit the roadmap wording is a little off though.  Typically, when somebody says that they are postponing their medical career, they stop medical school, take a gap year prior to boards, or something similar.

I do think that this sounds like an interesting project and will start following to see further updates.

...Also, looking back over the thread it looks like this was posted at one point: 'TheCoin.pw Joulecoin (XJO) SHA256 Mining Pool is partnering with Mining Rig Rentals to help users mine Joulecoin. TheCoin.pw is also a great pool if you do have mining equipment.'
Is this legit or was @ComputerGenie trying to say it was a scam?
...
I wasn't saying anything about the pool, one way or the other, outside of the fact that "partnering with Mining Rig Rentals" was an outright crock of shit.

Okay thank you for clearing that up!
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XJO] Joulecoin | SHA256 | First SHA256 data coin | Major upgrade 0.10.4.2 on: February 16, 2018, 05:20:04 PM
Hello everybody.  I have been introduced to this coin very recently by @IMZ and I have to say that I am very interested in where this is going.
'XJO -- No one is going back in time to create more 2013 coins.' -IMZ

As @harlanjs did last year in Oct 2017, here is my XJO address: Jd5UpsnNd11zAqVCL1ZVf4PrxSNW9jNMcp
IMZ is already going to fund my beginnings.  Just posting for placeholder and I'm not asking for handouts.

I have a question right off the bat that maybe somebody can answer.  I see on the github that a new update for version 0.12 was just completed.  What will be the process of updating 0.10.4.2?  I literally just downloaded the 0.10.4.2 version last night and it's currently syncing.  Please tell me that I can reuse the synced data Smiley

Are the mining pools still active for this project? which one is best if so?  I would like to get more into mining if it's active.  Any tuts on this particular coin would also be very appreciated.  Perhaps @virtual_miner could help out?

Also, looking back over the thread it looks like this was posted at one point: 'TheCoin.pw Joulecoin (XJO) SHA256 Mining Pool is partnering with Mining Rig Rentals to help users mine Joulecoin. TheCoin.pw is also a great pool if you do have mining equipment.'
Is this legit or was @ComputerGenie trying to say it was a scam?

@remistevens - whats the ETA on the new site?  I loved the new site design and mobile wallet app mock up.  Lightning bolt may be confused with lightning network for BTC, but that may work in our favor Smiley

@remistevens - you also asked 'Do the transactions write to the blockchain, are they permanently recorded? If so could that be used for publishing/proving ownership of text?' and never got a reply.
I looked into a transaction that IMZ posted as a test to spazzdla and this is in the raw transaction data:    "txid": "31b3cd6c1cf4ee3bfc96eaed8f87843bd0e8bee3786e70dc2f014a459ad268f2",
   "version": 2,
   "locktime": 0,
   "tx-comment": "text:spazzdla",
Pretty dang awesome!  It would be really easy (maybe) to utilize this for much more with a well-designed mobile platform.

Looking forward to more discussion on this project!
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO FINISHED]PECULIUM - First Saving System in Crypto Driven by AI on: February 13, 2018, 08:14:56 PM
I highly recommend to subscribe to their newsletter.

Recently they have partnered with Accuracy, Acurracy is a financial consulting firm. It was created in November 2004 by a team of Arthur Andersen.

This shows that the PCL team is serious about this project and they are being advised by a real company that has offices in ten countries around the world.

I second this.  It's interesting that they are pretty vocal (in a sense) on their newsletter, but don't really have any updates anywhere else.  These newsletter updates seemingly come out of nowhere.  Then, about 1-2 days later, they post it on telegram.  They really want people to get over to Reddit it seems.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance... is this place a scam? on: February 09, 2018, 05:40:09 PM
The recent issue that binance has had has made me more confident in using them. Great updates and information through out and now even 70% off transaction fees....result!

This is exactly what I was about to post on here.  This exchange was my first alternative when I ventured out from Coinbase and I have been happy with them ever since.
97  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 09, 2018, 02:42:59 PM
I presume (hope) there are others like me, who are less interested in the monetary rewards than in the intellectual rewards from participating. Thus, perhaps decoupling the rank and the merit system, and only use the merit system to have influence on the monetary benefits, maybe that would be cleaner in term of incentives? It would certainly work for me.

I don't agree. Rank of the member should mean his "seniority" not only by number of posts, but also by quality of posts. I think that nobody wants Hero members that are posting shitposts in this forum. So i like the idea that members should qualify for a higher rank only if they post something meaningful.  If you are more interested in intellectual benefits, then there is no need for the rank upgrade anyway..

The other thing is that currently it's quote difficult to get some merits. It looks like a very long journey to upgrade from Member to Full Member for example, even for users  that are posting quality posts. I hope this will get better once there are more sMerits available from Merit sources.

Isn't this just another form of elitism though? Only those with sufficient rank can decide on who can progress through the system.

Isn't it is also far too easy for some of these "shitpost heros" to level up their own secondary/multiple accounts and not use the system as intended.

We need a rank Hard-fork!

I don't think it is necessarily a form of elitism.  No system is perfect, but they are attempting to decrease those 'shitpost heros' from ever making it to the higher ranks.  They can do nothing about those that were already higher ranks to begin with as that would also be unfair to them.

You can send 1 sMerit for every 2 that you receive.  I have used up my 1 unfortunately, but I hope to gain more with more quality posts that I put on this board with time.  It's a slow process yes, but one that has to be fully-accepted before it can really change the way things are done here.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥[ANN][PRE-SALE] Skychain - medical artificial neural networks infrastructure! on: February 07, 2018, 08:00:38 PM
Hello guys! If I got it right the main data supplier for Skychain is hospitals, right? How much are you willing to pay them for this information?

This is actually a great point.  When compared to the other projects in the medical field, this one relies on full adoption from all healthcare providers in order for this to be beneficial/successful.

The main asset in the neural network will be the specialists and their cases as they are going to be pivotal to helping to diagnose rare diseases.  However, if there is not an ample supply of regular cases, there will be misdiagnosed pts that match some of the criteria for the rarer diseases.

I'm very interested to see how they expect this will be implemented.
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC WILL GO TO 4.5K $. on: February 07, 2018, 05:26:06 PM
For me, the 20k race really surprised me when I expected bitcoin to be at 8000k by the end of 2017 / early 2018. So everything is in line with my plans, except the 20k rally

However, I still believe my original prediction for 2018 will happen

For 2018, my predictions are:

MID 2018

BTC 25000k
ETH 4500k (20% of BTC value) as I think this year ETH will fluctuate between 10% and 20% of BTC value, so it will also be good for swapping Smiley

END 2018

BTC 100000k
ETH 10000k (10% of BTC value by the end of the year)

edit: for me, BTC cannot go much lower than 6k, but it still has space to fall more according to my calculations, if it breaks my secret value I will sell all my positions right away because it will be the end

What would your 'secret value' be?  I don't think it will ever be the 'end' of BTC so I am interested in your rationale behind some secret value that would usher the end of crypto as we know it.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON (TRX) Scam on: February 07, 2018, 02:40:04 PM
there are too many rumors about tron so i decided to not buy some tron.
This is very risky for me cause i don't have enough money to lose in a suspicious project.

Even in China, TRON's reputation is not good, always associated with all kinds of illegal fund-raising inexplicable links. Refusing to buy TRRON is right.

Really? I've never heard about this before, do you have any source or a link to this information?
If this is true then that explain why the price just keep going down and down from the ATH
where did that information come from? can you please put some source to the information you shared to us? i am one of the holders of trx so im concern about it.
It's not because you hold TRX, so you choose to ignore the truth.
I am Chinese, and I can tell you that this token is a ponzi scheme in China. In September last year, the Chinese banned the ICO and demanded a full refund, and the founder of the token said he would not be refunded even if he was arrested. And the founder of the token himself admitted to manipulating TRX prices.

Do you have a link to anything supporting this?
