The major concern now is that TF is asking for ID. He's already considered a scammer and many don't trust him with ID. Therefore many will lose a lot of coins which he KEEPS which was his plan all along. He thought he looked good doing partial refunds to begin with.

Where has he said that he is asking for ID?

Many people including myself have messaged him enquiring about withdrawing our coins, or at least get a partial refund. However, he is now asking for ID for the withdrawal. There is a lot of discussion about this.

so he can pass it on ta who? ~ interesting... Roll Eyes

Well surely that is for you to determine the right use-cases and worst-case scenarios to test for, not for me to tell you, your code works different to eMunie, so different test cases are needed.

Simply, you want to test it to destruction!!  You want to MAKE it break, WAAAAAAY above any load that it will ever receive, then you fix that weak spot and test it to destruction again...keep doing that until either it doesn't break, OR the breaking point is so far outside of normal use it's irrelevant.

For example, for one entire week with eMunie, we generated 70k transactions per day, on a 10 node network....it took it all, just about.  This was after many iterations of the same test, pushing the failure point out further and further.

That will NEVER happen in real world scenarios where 10 machines are creating 70k transactions per day even at VISA scale levels (I know you don't like VISA scale references but you gotta think about it).

Other things, connectivity issues you cant control, so, pull the plug at a crucial moment and make sure that it continues with no errors, any DB's you use kill the drive halfway through a write and make sure it recovers etc etc

You're a software engineer right?  You should know this stuff!

you need me to break(test) something?LOLL  Cool

627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi Alive? Thread on: November 12, 2013, 12:56:45 PM
Actually, Satoshi is a robot sent from the future to stop the largest currency crisis in the history of mankind, and the nuclear war that followed the political chaos caused by it.

His name comes from joined names of Japanese corporations who created him, Samsung-Toshiba-Nakamichi-Motorola.
in 2075, these corporations formed a single huge megacorporation, in joined effort to perfect time travel technology.

After they successfully conducted first tests of Future-Vision Hyperdimensional Matrix™ in 2075, and got a glimpse 9 years into the future (2085), they saw the earth being destroyed by a nuclear disaster which was result of war caused by terrible worldwide economical crisis. They were devastated by the things they saw, and they completely commited all of their funds to developing time travel technology & building an intelligent robot which they can send into the past. That was necessary because a glitch in the Time Vortex Plasma-Based Bipulsary Manipulator™ caused any organic matter to be damaged when travelling through the vortex.

They created first working prototype of S.A.T.O.S.H.I. in 2083. Fortunately for us, in January 2084 a stable backward-aligned temporal vortex was created and Satoshi was successfully transported to set coordinates in the past.

And here we go, creating a better future for the mankind.

wow how did i not see this post before!~ even more proof !!!  Cool

Maybe the remaining BTC should be sent to an address that ONLY some REALLY reliable member from the community has the private key, so he would send/refund the coins to remaining users.

As I see it, either TF is a scammer or he isn't.

If he is, then why would he send me the coins to refund?
If he isn't, then why not let him refund them himself?

I don't see what value I can add to this.

sounds like you are defending him?...

If he isn't, then why would he not take me up on my offer to call in the ninjas?  Cool

I think I was one of the last ones to successfully withdraw from gox, thankfully pulled out all I needed to buy my house before the withdraw problems started.

Although it was at an average of $120/btc, missed the 266 bubble and this runup... Would have been way better off with a mortgage.
You can talk about sellers remorse in a couple of years.

Still got plenty more.

Besides, remorse is the 5000btc wallet lost to a corrupted bitlocker partition, or close to that lost to pirate.

Jesus Christ, I can't imagine.

Truly no way to recover that partition?

Sent it off to 4 data recovery companies. Almost all datas intact, but the bitlocker metadata (including master key) are corrupt... 256 bit AES key

Well keep it cryofrozen till one day in the future when they can fix that too. :-)

now the stock market peeps are outright begging me to sell them coins at summer vacation prices!!!LOLOLOLLL  Grin ~spot price not cheap enuff for you?= how about 500?weeee

637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FreiCoin (FRC) discussion (was FreiCoin (FRC) for TRC, PPC, LTC or BTC) on: November 12, 2013, 01:50:19 AM
Real investment. Contrary to loose terminology prevalent on these forums, holding currency is not investment in the economic sense, it is speculation. Investment is the purchase of goods not for consumption but for future production. For example, building a factory, hiring engineers and designers to build a product, training a workforce to make them more productive, etc. These actions grow the economy.

Currency speculation, on the other hand, impedes the larger economy by tying up resources which would otherwise be spent on consumption or invested in real projects. This unearned rent impedes real economic growth, acting as a parasitic tax on the economy.

The ~5% annual demurrage of Freicoin is chosen specifically to counteract this effect, such that speculators are hit with a penalty exactly equal to the unearned rent they extract from the rest of society, driving them to find more productive uses for their money.

EDIT: Demurrage is kinda like copyleft. Inflation currency is evil because it structures our economy and by extension our society to be debt-based in an arrangement that only benefits the bankers (e.g. mortgage and national debt interest payments being a transfer of wealth from the little guy to Wall St.). Just how Stallman created GPL to protect users, demurrage currency protects the little guy buy gaining the macroeconomic benefits of inflationary currency in such a way that improves society without favoring bankers (or anyone else).

i'm not doubting that your intentions are good. I personally speculate on swings of a few days so the one year 5% thing would not matter in my case..as well as most traders. As far as the big bankers the main problem I see is lack of transparencey. The good ole boys club reigns supreme in the financial systems i'm familiar with. BTC land is ridden with this same mentality if not anything even more secret and guarded then the current United States capitalist system..=( my hope is FRC and other alternative coins may have a chance to make a real change in the world as more people get involved!

I encourage people to file complaint with Better Business Bureau in CA.
that's hilarious.  Don't you know the BBB is the biggest scam of all?  You can 'buy' a good standing membership no matter how awful your history.  BBB is a raging lie.

Did you know university accreditation costs money? Mostly because the people that do the audits need to be paid? *Gasp* such a scam.
