For a coin with a bazillion to be made available, this thing is a bitch to mine!

No dead coin here dude

What can we do to get this coin on the right track again?

Drink a white russian.

This coin is still alive btw. Just fired up the wallet and solo'd a few LBW's for funzies.

Never understood why a coin named after a movie character so popular they have conventions every year on him yet the popular coins end up being memes, celebs and other detritus.

Maybe get the convention crowd involved.

Eh. Whatever. Seems fitting that lazyness slowed down lazy dude.

Looks like they officially changed the site http://monatr.jp/, not just twittered. The site now says in english:

Quote
For foreigners: We do NOT provide any English support at any time. Non-Japanese speakers are discouraged to use this exchange service. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thats ok. I don't need english support, I need buyer support!  Grin

Warning :.. this web service IS available only for domestic [Japan] use and we do not support Non-Japanese People If we found you Are Accessing from foregin countries, we Will Lock your account and Freeze all of your balance Without any caution Please use foreign exchanges such as newchg.com alternatively.

Awesome. So now we're stuck with newchg.com as the only exchange we can use to trade with without getting fucked over, and even then that's not a real exchange (it's just basically a spreadsheet that doesn't do anything other than list orders, trading still has to be done person-to-person or via escrow) and it doesn't even work (Can't sell or buy for less than 1BTC, which is obviously a problem).

I wish I could say I was surprised.

I get that the site might be having issues, but do they think that alienating western miners and traders is a good idea at all? I was actually about to switch back to mining MONA since I had finally gotten the hang of trading on that site, not happening now though. I'm done with this coin entirely once I sell off my remaining MONA.

What a laugh. Probably to keep out the Chinese mega-rig dumpers.

I should buy up all the cheap MONA and dump them there using my Tokyo VPN just because.

Exactly, from the 2ch thread:

Quote
前スレで書いてたPump&Dumpが怖いな。
 有名になったとして上場したら外人勢が一気に売ってくるだろうし、
 それに耐えられるだけの市場価値(使い道)ができてくるかが勝負だろうな

they are actually afraid of foreigns ruining their chance at crypto-currency.

Based on Mona twitter feed, they OP changed the wording as to not be to brash...my version of Google translate on the exchange now reads:

"For Foreigners :.. Provide We do NOT support any English at any time Non-Japanese speakers Are discouraged to use this service Exchange Sorry for the Inconvenience."

So it seems less risky to use but without support....good luck

That sounds better, but obviously someone needs to school these people into how crypto currency works. Hell, all currencies for that matter.

There is absolutely nothing they can do to prevent the free market from invading their little "private" coin. The Mona devs should have used a 100% pre-mined model if that was the way they wanted to go, not an LTC clone!
If they didn't want the possibility of a pump and dump, use something else. I dunno, maybe serial numbered panties.  Roll Eyes

If I can get double ROI on a Japanese forum as apposed to in "the west" I'll call in a Japanese fluent friend to help me dump all my Mona via VPN.  Angry Nothing they can do to stop me.

Since the devs behind this coin know what they are doing (most of the time  Wink ), I'm not too worried that the second time will be the charm.

Max supply: 13.3 Million (Same as approximate Jewish Population)

I bet my shoes that the most popular will be jewcoin eater address and it will contain at least one name of any concentrations camp. Sending your jews to any of these address will be "excellent" promotion.

And this coin will get a big community. Very strange community... Big chance to make this coin a reserve currency of Palestina or any fascist country.

Fuck off

Here is my take on MONA.

I was, as recently as today, going to dump all my MONA for cheap. Why? I didn't think this coin was going anywhere.
Then I changed my mind.
More specifically, I remembered something from my youth.

When I was 12, I had a job at a paddle manufacturing facility. We made kayak paddles and canoe paddles. We made something like 20-30 paddles a week (my memory is foggy, this was 30yrs ago).
Suddenly, out of the blue, we were exporting hundreds of kayak paddles. Couldn't keep up with orders. Backordered for months.
Why?

For some reason I will never understand, hanging kayak paddles above your mantle became in vogue in Japan.  Huh

Then, as soon as we started to get orders under control, the fad ended. Back to 20-30 paddles a week.

The point to my story is, when the Japanese people get wind of something perceived as new and cool (and their friends like and/or use it), all bets are off. A strange kind of mania takes over and if you catch the wave at the right time you can profit handsomely.

I realise this little anecdote may be irrelevant to crypto-mining and currency speculation, but it did make me stop and hold my MONA. All I have to lose is few hours of hashing. Hats off to the speculators, I wouldn't do it but it takes balls and risk to make $$, eh?  Grin

I swear that coin logo jew dude wringing his hands artwork came from some nazi propaganda from the 30's.

Coins like this don't help crypto, it keeps us in the dark shadows. there is no innovation here, just subtle racism.  Roll Eyes

Great response! LOL!

Although you probably shouldn't have mentioned Kanye by name in the letter, or suggest he personally gets involved. Did you get this letter looked at by a professional lawyer?

Either way. Funny.  Cheesy

I'm suspecting the dev support on this will be , how can I saw politely, frenetic?
