501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 24, 2013, 01:54:02 AM
Thanks Gliss!
I use your site every day. I think its great.

My only recommendation (without reading previous posts, I'm sure it's been said) is to maybe make a "%" marker (or graph for coins like QRK) of how much each coin has been pre-mined. A lot of newbies are unaware of various scamcoins out there.  Grin

Getting no errors and pretty sweet hash rates with these settings:

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://doge.scryptpools.com:3333 -u USER.WORKER -p PASSWORD --scrypt -I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192

Use this on both my 7770's and R9 280X's.

 Grin

what speeds are you getting on the 280x's?  I have mine rock solid at 750-760kh/s each, took a bit of playing about tho.

Huh. I just checked (the 280x miner is in an out-building), it's only getting 550ish k/hash. I wonder why. It usually gets upper 700's when mining LTC's.

Gonna tinker with the settings a bit more....

504  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is heat all energy from mining? on: November 07, 2013, 02:46:22 AM
Electrical energy goes into my GPU and changes to heat energy.

Is 100% of the energy being changed to heat when mining, or is there a small portion that is still electricity? The data bits I am sending to the BTC network must still be electrical energy, right?

You going to heat your house with GPU? You better think twice cause I see some forum member saying there is weird smell while GPU mining. It might have serious side effect.....

Your GPU should smell like $$.

Glad this topic got necroposted. I'm looking into using my 3.4 PS3 for mining LTC's. I'll check this out.  Grin
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the Creator of Bitcoin come forward? on: November 04, 2013, 12:55:47 AM
The creator of liberty reserve just got 75 years in prison, only 25 years of which were for money laundering.

Satoshi would get royally fucked in the arse. And before he even got to the court room he would be robbed for his wealth.

Who says Satoshi lives in the States?  Huh

If he ever does come forward, I highly doubt it would be from an extraditable country (I don't believe he's done anything wrong, tho)

Or.. you know, don't use brain wallets. Create one locally and encrypt it with true crypt.

509  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: POLL - Why are you mining? on: November 03, 2013, 11:11:27 AM
Mining helps motivate me to build an energy neutral computer system that could potentially generate revenue. (So I guess its a hobby.  Grin )

I have a large used tractor battery (heavy as all hell), solar panels, inverters and now I'm trying to build a low watt mining rig with wifi (the rig is in an out building).

I'm checking out the Rasberry Pi units atm...
