I put a PSU from another unit in that machine, and it reads alarm/fault - and the psu that shot sparks out works fine in a different unit.
So i've concluded that rather just being a power supply - it's the actual miner. anyone know how to reset the bugger
I would start by looking at the backplane caps, and removing them if they look like they've failed. If no help is to be had there, I would then remove all but one of the hashing modules from the backplane and see if it will start up like that. If so, reconnect another, etc, and see if you can isolate one of them that pisses it off. Thansk I'll give that a shot. I have removed all the caps - I have 5 other machines running fine with the caps in place. This board is v4.0 not v4.1 as others are that are working fine. this one has a silver colored main bus as opposed to the others with copper colored. |

try taking a router, setting the LAN IP to be 192.168.1.x subnet, plug the miner and plug a computer in as well. Once you have done that look at 192.168.1.1 and sign into the router. You should see an option for attached devices or something to list the devices connected. make sure the miner is 192.168.1.99 and then navigate to that address. From there if you sign in with the default password of root/root you can login.
If you need to reset an s1, there is a small button the control board, push and hold this while the unit is powered on. wait 15 to 30 seconds. power off. power on again and the machine should be reset to stock clock speeds, and user root, password root, ip 192.168.1.99

Bump - no neil young fans? I had to open one of these up - cleaning up after a flood, can say that the signature was clean, and it even bled from one page to the other. Don't worry - this isn't the flood damaged one.

I don't see how MS can be legally selling devices without any US certifications like FCC.
Not sure - but you can see the labels of the sunshine ap188 made by apluspower.cn - and it's missing quite a few logos that are normally on all the other dell, hp, delta, ibm, sun, etc server psu's that i've seen. Short of those little 360w ones that were used for gridseeds |

They came from walmart.com - we otherwise sell them on amazon, they are in the amazon warehouse system now - that's why i didn't have pictures of the boxes. Think of the repercussions we would face selling fake beats on amazon, our account would be shut down really quickly and we would lose the substantial business we do there. Rather than creating a new forum user name for the business, I just decided to post a few things from mine.
We buy overstock and closeout products as well as customer returns, we inspect everything we sell.
Currently have 1 blue, 1 orange and 4 white.
I've seen the fake ones out there, etc. If you are concerned after receiving them, mail them back unopened and I'll give you a refund.

for the blade center PSU - will you make a break out board or similar to hook the supply line into? Unlike a regular PSU - these ones don't have the standard plug on the back side. I've seen other PSU this way as well - and they all had that same 3 tab hook up. I've tried to solder to those tabs in the past unsuccessfully.
Any idea how loud these are? I'd be in for a few of these boards, I'll just replace the other mismatched stuff I'm using now.
