This may be a dumb question but i don't know the answer so ill ask it anyway. Does the hard fork lower the total supply of coins?

No Coin swap or burn with this fork.
More info on the Fork: https://nycoin.community/announcement.html

Blockchain is an amazing technology.

And NYC is an amazing blockchain crypto.

yup... The NewYorkCoin Centre in NYC has proven that it doesn't need improvement!

How is your café doing btw? Where's the free ride you promised?

About
Test before implement. That "atrocious" code has worked flawlessly for 4+ years. No hacks. Confirms every 30 seconds. Yobit (top 35 exchange) added old code. Coinomi (#1 rated alt-coin wallet) added old code. Everything works and has worked flawlessly. Just more difficult to mine these days...

Of course... nobody was using it until end 2017. What could go wrong?

Edit: sorry... your answer is going to be: the early miners!

guys I have a question:
Roadmap:
Q3:  Constructing a NewYorkCoin inflation-reduction plan in order to balance the need to maintain zero or near-zero transaction fees while adequately incentivizing miners to solve blocks on the NewYorkCoin blockchain
Q4:  Implementing the inflation reduction plan after receiving network consensus

therefore the quantity of coins purchased decreases by half or more, right?

hi there!
that actually depends on what you mean:

* If by halving you mean, having the block reward van from 10k to 5k NewYorkCoin, that means that per 30sec a block reward of 10k NYC would be send to that miner that resolved this specific block. => This is on the roadmap yes, but needs consensus in the community.

* If you mean something in the sense of a hard forking to a coin with a lower max supply): that would mean ... or better said: COULD mean that there would be eg a reduction for all coin holders in their wallet. Let's say current supply goes from 133bilion to 1.3 billion, some1 with 1million coins should only have 10.000 coins in their wallet.
=> This is NOT on the ROADMAP!

An investigation of possible coin burn events is also ongoing, that has nothing to do with your concerns, however coin burn would mean that people would volunteer to send a % of their coins (let's say fee's for mining pool operators, games like dice,...) to a "burn wallet" where they never could be used again.

I want to talk about my experience in YOBIT.NET, first of all, I do not mean any offense, because I need your help.
On January 18 of this year, I made 50 million NYC withdrawals from YOBIT.NET, however, they did not get to my wallet, hint: I was working ..., it was over 40 days ago and I sent 5 times Support votes, but no one reply me, spam is not!
I would like to consult someone who has had a successful encounter with me and successfully withdraw money. I need your help. If anyone can tell me about the solution and successfully withdrawn from NYC, I am willing to pay 5 million NYC remunerations!

IF you have the transaction id from Yobit, you can look up the TX on:https://explorer.nycoin.community/

Join us on discord, might be easier to help you out of chat instead of a forum.: https://discord.gg/VufCrgb

Some good news. NewYorkCoin port of Electrum-LTC wallet client -> https://github.com/NewYorkCoin-NYC/Electrum-NYC
This is actually a great news!
Only issue is the page mentioned on github https://electrum-nyc.org/ is not working for me. Are you guys still working on it?

That homepage is indeed not working.... but it is being worked on!
This is still beta build and atm only testnet is active... it has not been officially released!

Hi NYC people,

I have 2 questions:

1. What happend with nycvault.com ? Why is it redirecting to newyorkcoin.net ? I didn't hear any news about this.
2. Are there any plans about getting https for newyorkcoin.net ? http was ok in 1998, but is definitely not ok in 2018, it looks super-untrustworthy, specially for crypto page.

Hey mate,

You might want to check out https://nycoin.community! This site is way more up to date.

Hi nicovs_be,

thank you for response, I didn't know we have this page.
However I still think we should have https even on official page which is linked on coinmarketcap .

Hi Matios,

Yeah, we know.... but that "official" page is not maintained by the community. We've requested the HTTPS numerous times to the website maintainer (NewYorkCoinMiner), without feedback.

Cheers
Nico

uracrew, please for sake of all of us here, please go get a life! Please man, get busy with some other coin bounty, there's enough of them around here, and finally leave us all in peace!!!

Thanks!

I completed bounty task. I have not received my bounty. What may I do - sit still? I don't take part in bounties. I took part in bounty of NYC because I was looking at this coin since 2014 and mined it from it's start. That's was the reason - because I wanted to do something good for community. You can check my posts in this thread - I was positive. Bounty reward was secondary. But when I realized, that something going wrong - I gave 24 hours for Charlie to respond. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2016963.msg28129121#msg28129121)
Then I was busy and posted all proofs in some weeks, not in 24 hours. Charlie had enough time to contact me to solve question.
I'm not interested in getting contribution as only solution of my question. I'm sure that community can collect and send me these 200k if I will ask. But it's not right way. This will show that Charlie pwned whole community, not just some persons. I want to get bounty from a person who announced bounty. Bounty was announced by Charlie Kartchner, the founder of NYCoin (see proofs here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2016963.msg29465308#msg29465308)

NewYorkCoin suffers because of just one person - because of it's founder. He don't care about community, he don't care about fixing wallet bugs, he don't care about paying bounties.
Here is my list of simple questions to Charlie:
1. Connection between "disappeared" founder of NYC, e-mail at NewYorkCoinMiner profile and original NYC domain name.
2. Multiaccounts at this forum. It seems like not forbidden here, but explain the sense of this, let community know why.
3. Explain why Sniper from Russian NYC community received 50k coins bounty instead of 100k. Solved, Sniper received second part of bounty later. Then the question is why the bounty was divided into 2 parts?
4. Explain why Sniper from Russian NYC community received bounty for Russian translation that he done 1 week later than me.
5. Explain why you said that you will pay bounty for both translations, but not payed at all and even didn't answer me anywhere where I written to you.
6. Explain why new bounty campaigns being started, while you are not payed for previous.
7. Explain why "online decentralized" cryptocurrency need "offline center" at Manhattan? Just child's dream about real estate in NYC? Another stupid hype like ATM with goal to create demand? Another way to ask for donation for something "very important" like in this message https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2016963.msg29179560#msg29179560 ? "GET YOUR BTC READY"?
8. Wallet troubles with URGENT messages and much bigger troubles with Mac OS wallet. Terrible UX with creating conf file manually. Can be fixed within 1 day and some bucks, but seems like user experience is something absolutely not important for this coin.

I was cheated yesterday, tomorrow you will be, so let's together ask Charlie to answer these questions.

Nobody here cares about your bounty or your accusations. If you have beef with the dev, do it in private. We are all working on rebuilding this project and we don't need you coming in here with your shit. Private message the dev if you think you are owed something. Your only hurting everyone here. GTFO!

I do care actually. I think uracrew deserves his money and it is not good for NYC coin if Charlie - founder is acting like this (like a cheater). I'm big fan of NYC and I own amount which is a lot for me. This makes the coin untrustworthy and reduces its value.
It's all because Charlie is not acting fair. If I am uracrew I would do the same.
I'm surprised all you guys see this and just ignore it.

+1
This whole thing, and especially the amateurish, harsh responses from the crew member who answers for NYC team, damages the coin reputation for every potential investors who read this thread. I am myself considering selling my NYC million coins for things like this.

Harsh? Really? Come check the discord, and see all the hard work that is being done... Then come read this again and you'll see that 2 or 3 people are throwing away the work done.

Hey Casanova, i don't speak Russian, but google translate does a nice job Smiley
Don't be offended by people making (stupid?) jokes. People make fun of other nationalities/race/sexual preference/etc ... all the time.

come talk on discord and see what the community is doing: https://discord.gg/VufCrgb

The community is there to help each other, not to scream SCAM or whatsoever. If you come and chat, come in peace.
