2863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 21, 2014, 05:41:12 PM
I'm working on EU and Asia servers to launch and split the load. Current server is overloaded with all the traffic/hashpower it got. Stay tuned!

Kudos. Will really like to join back once the Asia server is up and running.
2864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using Onboard GPU for normal Work while mining with and AMD GPU? on: February 21, 2014, 02:53:58 PM
First you need dummy plug for your card.
http://www.overclock.net/t/384733/the-30-second-dummy-plug

Install the graphics card, boot up the operating system with your monito plugged into the GFX card, install amd driver.

Jump into UEFI aka bios, set graphics to IGP, not auto.

Shutdown, install the dummy plug.

Boot up the system, install your Intel graphics driver, reboot.

You should be set to mine off your AMD card, while being on the IGP for your monitor.

Yes, this can be done, I am and have been doing it for a while on my I3-2100 and two 5850's.

Reviving an old thread just to say thank you!

I had been trying to work this out with my Intel MoBo and 7950 GFX card. After many failed attempts I was about to give up, but your instructions have precisely worked. I followed them in order and now I'm successfully running my display with integrated graphics and using 7950 for dedicated mining.

Thank you!
2865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia more efficient to mine scrypt? on: February 21, 2014, 12:26:19 PM
750Ti is a budget and low-power card and it is already at 285 khash. That's because of the new Maxwell architecture used in the card. Imagine the higher end cards NVIDIA will release with Maxwell and where the mining power can go. AMD is back to the drawing board again.
2866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EASY MONEY >> Check price difference between #bter and #cryptsy :-) on: February 21, 2014, 09:20:19 AM
Most of the differences are within 5% range. And considering the pricing of alt-coins, unless you're planning to sell/buy several thousand of them, the profits will be negligible.

Also note that the trade rate figures are for the highest trade, which is often small amount of coins - like 100. If you go looking to sell thousands of coins at same rate, you will be out of luck.

It has earned more than 9 BTC in last 24 hours alone! wow...
Someone must be trying out their new ASIC scrypt miners
2868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining time on: February 21, 2014, 08:23:45 AM
They're not joking. GPU mining is way outdated if you're trying to mine Bitcoin directly. At the current difficulty (which increases rapidly by the way), you'll be able to mine 1 Bitcoin in over 400 years. If you don't believe it, here is the calculator:
http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator

The proper approach would be to join any of the scrypt multipools (Google it).
2869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin reward system on: February 21, 2014, 05:48:48 AM
The varying difficulty in mining protocol ensures that a fixed number of Bitcoins are released regardless of the mining power/number of miners.
The network adapts itself to decreasing or increasing mining power of the network, so there shouldn't be much variation from 2140.

Time to migrate to Telegram.

Never heard of it. Does it offer anything whatsapp doesnt?

Telegram works just like WhatsApp, apart from a very important additional feature: Secret Chats.
From their Play Store page: "....Secret Chats, featuring end-to-end encryption to ensure that a message can only be read by its intended recipient. When it comes to Secret Chats, nothing is logged on our servers and you can automatically program the messages to self-destruct from both devices so there is never any record of it."

WeChat is a WhatsApp look-alike and work-alike messaging app. Popular in China more than WhatsApp probably because it got in first? Just like WhatsApp is more popular in India because it got in first.

Anyone thinking of switching to alternate services (like Telegram) after the news?

Acquiring the competition for the sake of saving your own ass on losing out the member base seems the logical decision, but the amount is monstrous. Remember Microsoft acquiring Nokia's handset division? That was something like only 7.5 Billion dollars. And Nokia is a whale.
2878  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CGMiner defaulting to on-cpu graphics problem. on: February 20, 2014, 07:57:54 AM
Rrun CGMiner with just -n command. That will list all GPU and their platforms. Note the GPU platform for your 7950.
You can then force CGMiner to mine on specific platform, like --gpu-platform 1
2879  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Butterflylabs - Scam - sue on: February 20, 2014, 07:09:57 AM
If I remember it correctly, there was some news a few days ago that some people sued BFL already for their late-later-latest delivery of the hardware.

Edit: Here it is -

2880  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you think that we need new Ponzi section? on: February 20, 2014, 06:55:14 AM
Why would they create a section for ponzis? No reason to promote those scams, should delete all the posts instead.
Many of them are proven legit and working; so I guess its only fair to move them to Games rather than removing
