2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: March 26 -This is the Bottom I call it! on: March 28, 2018, 03:10:11 AM
Hope you are right, there are so many under valued coins out there at the moment, it is hard to know which ones to buy. Just got to look at NEO, EOS, ETH , these are last years prices.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your house for investment in btc. on: March 21, 2018, 11:47:35 PM
That's what l would call gambling in a big way....So you sell your house and then as we saw the price of BTC crashed, so now you have no house and half the value in BTC. Never put in more than you could afford to loose. Treat Crypto as just another asset class and have a percentage of your money in it as part of an overall investment scheme. That way you spread your risk.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to start Trading for newbie on: March 21, 2018, 09:30:00 AM
If you are just getting started you want to learn good habits from the beginning.

I would suggest you have a look at Philakone, you will find him on steemit and he is constantly uploading video's on youtube.

He provides a wealth of information for free,.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best ICO in the market with lowest risk. on: March 21, 2018, 07:30:01 AM
If you were to listen to Tone Vays, he would tell you that they are all scams and they should all be put in Jail; for security fraud.
Me l do think there are some decent ones out there, just a matter of doing your own research
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is HODLing a form of Day Trading? on: March 20, 2018, 08:42:28 AM
Everyone is always telling you to just HODL through the ups and downs and Don't day trade.

But isn't HODLing a form of trading it it's own right? When you HODL you are always betting that it will  go up eventually, no matter how much it has fallen.
Wouldn't it be better to set profit and loss targets and if it is reached, sell? The one thing that is consistent in derivative markets is that they go up and down, never just in one direction.

So you may miss out on some possible gains, but is that a bad thing if you have locked in profits. It is not as though you can't get back on the bus.

It has occurred to me if l HODL, l could be no different to gambling. Imagine going to the casino and betting on Black continuously,  it doesn't matter if l win or loose as l have never set an exit target, so l keep betting until there is nothing left.

If the market is rising then HODLing is great, but is it so good when your coins just fell 50%...I don't think so!
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoins next support level. $7850? on: March 19, 2018, 05:06:58 AM
Wondering what the general opinion is on the next pull back in the price of Bitcoin.

I was think that it would likely find support at $7850, before moving back up again. I was just using  Fib levels off the high and low, what are other people thinking and how did you come up with  the number ?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever borrowed fiat to get btc? on: March 14, 2018, 10:23:13 AM
That would be a recipe for disaster. Best only to invest what you can afford to loose, at least then it will not ruin your life.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your favourite ongoing/upcoming ICOs on: March 14, 2018, 12:11:46 AM
You may find that it gets easier to sift through them going forward..now that the SEC is stepping up there issuance of subpoenas. ICO's are going to be a lot more cautious , l noticed that one of them yesterday pulled there ICO. It will no longer be a licence to print money and there could possibly be jail terms attached to it if it is shown to be breaking US security laws.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Alt Coins are a scam. on: March 12, 2018, 10:03:39 AM
Well this is what the insightful Tone Vays claims...

He claims that ETH, DASH, shit 99.5% of all the ALTS are scams and the only coin that will survive is Bitcoin.

So l guess we should all sell our Alts now!
Firstly, where are your proofs? Spreading fud based on nothing is not welcomed on this forum. Secondly, how much does one expert's opinion actually matters? I bet a lot of other people who are not worth than him would say the opposite. If he is so fond of btc - fine, but it has to be admitted that other coins made some major suggestions if not improvements, attracted a lot of attention to the market (there would be no crypto market without them) and showed the variety of things where blockchain has be of use.

I linked to the video outlining his claims earlier and l am not spreading FUD, l am asking peoples opinion's on a so called experts statements. I am a great believer in a lot of alt coins.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Alt Coins are a scam. on: March 12, 2018, 09:57:57 AM

"All Alt coins are a scam" to me this is a totally wrong thought. Maybe you are a newbie so you do not understand all about the cryptocurrency market. There are many people who are rich by investing in Altcoin, and there are many people around the world who are working for the altcoin market. So there is no reason to say altcoin is a scam unless you are not knowledgeable about it.
I am not the one saying that, just quoting someone who thinks he is an expert "Tone Vays"
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Alt Coins are a scam. on: March 12, 2018, 05:57:55 AM
Can you prove your wordings or have you any link which says like this? Never spread rumor as many altcoins already proved their value and established and investors first choice. May be some altcoins do scam after their ICO but not all altcoins are scam.
Here is the link to an interview he did yesterday where he clearly states they are all scams or 99.5% of them

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tone Vays - Prophet or Just full of shit? on: March 11, 2018, 11:34:00 AM
i don't know this guy but i have probably watched his videos! unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that are doing the same, spreading wrong information and mostly going with what can get them "more views" not what is right! for example pre August if you created a video calling bitcoin cash scam and posted it on Reddit you could have gotten millions of views easily!

additionally you should remember that just because bitcoin cash went up it doesn't mean it is not a scam! going up is thanks to the pumps and all the fools that fell for their scam not because it is good or anything and that is true about majority of the altcoins out there.

Not really sure why people are always referring to it as a scam. Most people got it for free, so how were they scammed? If you bought it after that then you must of seen some benefit in owning it. l only buy coins to make money on them, they are investments, just like buying property or shares, it's an asset class. Whether it is Bitcoin , Bcash or ETH, it doesn't really matter. None of them really have any commercial uses in the real world at present , they are just  a form of derivatives, which we can all buy and sell to profit.... Just my two bobs worth

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Tone Vays - Prophet or Just full of shit? on: March 11, 2018, 05:22:45 AM
My friend and l like to disagree on Tone, l am not a fan, but he thinks the sun shines out of his arse.

I have tried to watch his video, but just find he is so full of himself, l end up turning them off within a few minutes. From what l can tell he does get some calls right, but just as many will cost you money. And obviously l realise he is not providing financial advise, just education.

He calls just about all altcoins a scam and he did do a series of videos on some of them, discrediting some coins. If you had bought them all at the time he released the video's you would of made a 100 x return. He did tell people that Bitcoin Cash was going to zero, which l know encourage a lot of people to sell, again just before it rocketed up.

Am l just taking a negative view because l think he is a bit of a wanker or is my friend just looking through rose colored sun glasses?

Would love to know what people think of him.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Bitcoin will hit 100K on: March 08, 2018, 10:04:54 AM
A couple of years ago a return on investment of 10% per year was considered great, now all people talk about is 10X, 100X or 1000X. Personally l would be happy if l could double my money in 12 months, that would be amazing. so if it finishes the year at $20000 l would be ecstatic.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will ICO's come to a grinding Halt? on: March 07, 2018, 05:09:29 AM
Is this going to have a negative effect on all of the ICO platforms, like ETH, NEO, EOS etc?

Below is part of an article that outline how exchanges and developers will possibly be classified as money transmitters and be subject to laws involving AML & KYC. I am concerned that this is just the begining.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) published a letter Tuesday that indicates the U.S. agency will apply its regulations to those who conduct initial coin offerings (ICOs).

In the letter, which was sent to U.S. Senator Ron Wyden last month, FinCEN's assistant secretary for legislative affairs, Drew Maloney, explained that both developers and exchanges involved in the sale of an ICO-derived token would be liable to register as a money transmitter and comply with the relevant statutes around anti-money laundering and know-your-customer (KYC) rules.

The letter reads:

"...a developer that sells convertible virtual currency, including in the form of ICO coins or tokens, in exchange for another type of value that substitutes for currency is a money transmitter and must comply with AML/CFT requirements that apply to this type of [money services business]. An exchange that sells ICO coins or tokens, or exchanges them for other virtual currency, fiat currency, or other value that subsitutes for currency, would typically also be a money transmitter."

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum TO $400 AGAIN on: March 06, 2018, 07:25:14 AM
MOre FUD, do your own research and don't listen to rumors . Could it go to $400, of course it could, but is there a reason that it will? Personally l think the worst of the correction is over, but if it did l would be loading up on it.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightening Network, does anyone actually think it will work? on: March 05, 2018, 10:09:14 AM
Can't keep your funds in cold storage, which creates a real security risk.
Wallet must be open to receive the funds. May not be a channel open for the transaction to reach your wallet.

Anyone coming with that argument using exchanges as wallet, not running a full-node and having cold storage is a huge hypocrite. That's like 99.99% of people.

Those are just some, but probably the biggest concern is that if you are using your wallet as a node/hub for the funds to hop through then there is a good chance that you could be seen to be involved in the transfer of money and depending on the jurisdiction you reside in, may be subject to anti-money laundering laws that require you to KYC the people sending and receiving the funds or even worse comply with anti terrorism laws.

Same as above.

You really think everyone is going to run a full node just so they can use lightening network & secure there funds, your dreaming. The simplest route is the most successful and there is nothing simple about that at all. The whole concept is to make it easy, cheap and fast to send BTC and so that those 99.99% of people you refer to, can use it . Your delusional!
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Lightening Network, does anyone actually think it will work? on: March 03, 2018, 11:22:10 AM
I am starting to wonder whether lightening network really can do what they say.

There are so many negatives to prevent it from working:

Can't keep your funds in cold storage, which creates a real security risk.
Wallet must be open to receive the funds
May not be a channel open for the transaction to reach your wallet.

Those are just some, but probably the biggest concern is that if you are using your wallet as a node/hub for the funds to hop through then there is a good
chance that you could be seen to be involved in the transfer of money and depending on the jurisdiction you reside in, may be subject to anti-money laundering laws that require you to KYC the people sending and receiving the funds or even worse comply with anti terrorism laws.

Governments all around the world are working on ways to legislate the crypto environment and l can't see them letting us use our wallets for the transfer of money and not knowing from who to who!

If they really want Bitcoin to be cheaper and faster then they should just implement Segwit2x
