If I go to the Grand Lisboa I would loose more, and what I would make in the slots wouldn't even be Ethereum.

May i ask, is there any reason Shift price is going down whilst new developments are coming and coins amount has reduced? Does it mean public has less confidence on this coin ?

Yeah, I had an issue with massively slow hashrate on a brand new 390x. Had the newest Crimson installed, bumped back to 15.something and my hashrate went to where it should be. By bad hashrate I mean it was only putting out maybe 10 and it was never recognized by the pools. So what I am saying is you need to do a search for a version of Crimson that will function properly for your setup.
For me, the Crimoson cannot regcognize 8 GPU in my 4x7990 set up. I used the lbr 7+ driver mod, did not work. For my 4x7990 setup, with Catalyst 15.11 or early, the 8GPU were recognised instantly, there is no need to mod. May i know What type of mobo you are using to run 8 x GPU ?

I had issues with not being able to power the monitor via HDMI prior to vid driver install, just a black screen.DVI solved that for me Good Point. I will try with DVI cable and see how it goes as HDMI and VGA cables did not help only to show no signal. I had a HDMI (vid card) to DVI (monitor),a DVI to DVI worked. The GPU is officially dead as I only get a message as "Monitor going to sleep" when i tried with DVI | HDMI etc... I am going to get R9 380 ....

If you install the 290 in the main PCIE slot, does it show the system start up? it does not need display to do that. [/quote]
Nothing shows up on the monitor when I install the gpu on the main PCIE slot. But I am not getting any IO errors when the system is being started. Does it matter whether i use DVI or HDMI cable to connect a monitor?

Cheers . It does work but my Mobo does not detect R9 290 anymore now. I will have to test it on another mobo hopefully it is not damaged although the fan is still spinning. If you look at other devices in the device manager list, you might find your 290 there, and then update driver again. 290 does not show up on device manager anymore although i uninstalled all display drivers and refresh the device manager. I think 290 is damaged but I dont get any sounds or error when it is connected on mobo. I do not know What might be the issue .

Can anyone help me to resolve AMD driver issue as I am getting Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) randomly on three of AMD 7950. And windows keeps restarting intermittently. I have remove all drivers and reinstall but still not help even I remove all AMD with Driver Fusion. All 5 GPUs were working perfectly until i tried to install R9 290 which does not even detect on the motherboards and now having troubles with the rest of 7950s . Worst case i may need to reinstall OS?

Just to keep things simple to start, this line should be all you need: ethminer.exe --farm-recheck 200 -F -G http://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:80/address/Worker1 You can add any additional parameters once you get the basic setup running. Did you check Device Manager to see if all 3 GPUs are showing up? It should look like the image below, but with 3 just gpu's showing: What is the amount of hash rate you are getting with 4 x R7 ?

The difficulty is rising fast and the price is dropping. Unless you have cheap electricity, do not start mining now
Is the price gonna fall below $6 near soon? So if I mined regular on 100 mh/s and generate 70 Ether per month I would make 60% profit after paying for power and ROI after 5 months, and I see this a better option than cloud mining I do not see ETH will be under $6 because this COIN will no longer be able to mine when POS kicks in as well as ETH is backed by Microsoft. Most likely flatten between 9$ to 7$ If MIST does not amuse us. Do you think Microsoft will let down themselves?

Dont go cloud mining. If you want to spend less than 2000$ and get hands on experience on mining then setup a rig with R9 390 as it is a recommended GPU for ETH mining as far as i read thru every where. If not wait for at least until Easter as I can see people need to liquidate their ETH coins to get ROI and $$$ for Easter Holiday. Thus, there is a down trend on ETH price because more supply and less demand [Economy 101]. Then you snatch up some coins during that time but you need to be in the right time.
