1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The 94% Con by Jon Montroll on: January 27, 2018, 09:54:29 PM
Since this haven't been posted, this is the newest information I have seen online about Jon/ukyo, including a "new" picture of him (the kneeling guy):
http://www.archercountynews.com/news/ac-nursing-home-gets-new-life-as-vista-living-of/article_c2c835fc-e6dd-11e5-8a38-d3985301397d.html

It even contains a tiny hint to the weexchange issue:
Quote from: archercountynews.com
Finally imagine jumping into a tough financial environment consisting of a quagmire of tough legal problems, forgotten history, and government red tape to start a new company managing a troubled nursing home.
Jon Montroll with his first experience in the nursing home industry did just that.
(Google cache reveals that there is no interesting information after the paywall-break in the article)

Have anyone been in contact with ukyo/Jon lately?
2  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: April 27, 2016, 09:41:53 PM
Wow. Ukyo could have paid people back something but chose to flee instead. Evil.
It is not really made clear in the article, but here is the important part in the blog:
Quote
Ukyo then spent a few days putting together the site for users to login and recover a % of their funds.
Ukyo did indeed make a portal that that payed back 6.175% to everyone. (http://weexclaims.weexchange.co/)

But it is obviously not okay that he stopped communicating after MtGox went down, where he most likely lost hope of getting the coins back.

We finally got some information on what happened at Weex:
http://dannybrewster.com/bitfunder-weexchange/

Well I guess I was on the right track at least Undecided
I still believe that the following IRC-log from December 17, 2013, is the best clue we have to what happened:
Code: (#weex)
<Ukyo> been fighting gox to coorolate things
<Ukyo> to find out exactly whats what on those orders
<Ukyo> er..
<Ukyo> >,>
<Ukyo> <,<
<Ukyo> i am going to shut up now.
It was written out of context and clearly in the wrong chat.

Deals done in the background, maybe??
Well I haven't seen/heard anything (unfortunately) and he still owes me 100+  Undecided

6  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: May 29, 2014, 12:37:57 PM
I've tried multiple times ...
but I always get: Bitcoin Server Status: OFFLINE <-- This is needed for address validation. Please try back later.
I just logged in at https://weexclaims.weexchange.co and all values are zero.
That has happened many times so far. According to Ukyo this happens when his bitcoind client isn't running (usually due to a crash).
7  Economy / Securities / Re: [Weexchange issue] The fall of Ukyo III - Updates and references on: May 12, 2014, 03:54:20 PM
Hi Guys,

Can anybody update me on what the situation is right now? I've read someone has started a lawsuit but it is not open to join any more.
Is there anything else going on? Has UKYO said something about the weexchange claims portal?

Thanks!

Nothing have changed as far as I know.. But Ukyo was pretty talkative on IRC this weekend. Not much new though, this is a summary: "<Ukyo> I am not elaborating at this time."

Here is a paste of the "interesting" parts of the chat: http://pastebin.com/EJ5BT49r
8  Economy / Securities / Re: [Weexchange issue] The fall of Ukyo III - Updates and references on: May 02, 2014, 03:19:01 PM
i don't get it, what was his last update about the situation?
anyone contacted him via irc or even personally?

who is organizing the lawsuit,  am i still able to join?

SOSLOVE868 aka Yuan Lu is organizing a lawsuit. It is too late to join now.
Last call to joint this lawsuit is 20.04.2014, and also you will need to get you money to the Lawyers account before 30.04.2014. after that date , that Lawyer will star his work, so it is no reason to bothering him to further modify the agreement between us and him.

Last public activity from Ukyo have been him setting up a loan portal for claiming loan shares and providing support for that. (last post on the forum was last week)

According to Ukyo, the problem with weex is "out of his hands atm". The following is from IRC a month ago:
Code: (#bitfunder)
<[KS]__> Ukyo: N&B not directly your fault (Danny clearly overspent - typical startup mistake), but the delays in resolving the WeEx issue haven't helped. And still aren't. Say, you'd find his BTC about now, that would make a difference for a bunch of people. No pressure :p
...
<Ukyo> [KS]__: the pressures there, dont worry. theres still hope. :)
<Ukyo> besides, i'm still here if thats any consultation. granted, if i were anyone else, i would prefer the btc over me. :P
<Kushedout> So will we be getting our BTC this year?
<Ukyo> I really hope so
<Ukyo> if i knew/had control over a time frame, i would promptly give one
<Ukyo> even if it was a shitty one
...
<Kushedout> I honestly haven’t been following this issue closely, I am just hoping this are being worked on in the background and I will see my BTC sooner or later. Yes, you being here still gives hope. And I am sorry if this has been asked before.  Is the reason for the hold up a technical one or a legal one?
...
<Ukyo> you could say, from a very narrow point of view, its a legal issue
<Ukyo> mpretty much all of the technical issues have been resolved
<Ukyo> there is hope, the problem is that its out of my hands atm.
<Ukyo> nothing i could possibly do can make anything happen any quicker
<Kushedout> So, if you “legally” could, you would be able to distribute everyone’s BTC back, today?
<Ukyo> if i had access and legally could of course i would
<Ukyo> no reason to hold ppls btc
9  Economy / Securities / Re: [Weexchange issue] The fall of Ukyo III - Updates and references on: May 01, 2014, 05:46:02 PM
I would like to know your suggestions, I'm wondering if there is any other way to claim my money?
You should just have contacted Ukyo on IRC, he is usually quite easy to get a hold on there. (unlike here and through support tickets)

If you didn't know then Ukyo set up a portal where users can withdraw some money which Ukyo defines as "available" we can only guess why the rest is "unavailable".
6.175% of the stuck funds are available for withdrawal atm: http://weexclaims.weexchange.co/
10  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: April 25, 2014, 02:21:02 PM
Nobody is setting up to sue him as far as i can make out.

Any word from Ukyo on IRC?
A few hours ago:
Code: (#bitfunder)
* jurov kisses Ukyo
<Ukyo> ew.

From the loan thread
Indeed the claim system was stuck by the bitcoind server.

Should be working just fine now.
I also added a bitcoind status message for future reference and setup a notification system.

Thanks for your patience,
Ukyo

The claim site is working correctly again. (Not showing zeroes)
13  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: April 08, 2014, 03:20:07 PM
I logged into https://weexclaims.weexchange.co today to see if there is any change, I had just over 7 coins still stuck, now today, all balances are zero. I used to have a figure in the balance stuck, and the amount withdrawn number. Today it reads:

Balance Stuck   0.00000000   Available   0.00000000   Withdrawn   0.00000000

Huh?? Can anyone explain that?
1.) for me it shows my balance is 0 @ weexclaims.weexchange.co - but this is wrong!

This has happened many times before. Ukyo said, it was caused by bitcoind crashing, which means that the claim page is unable to get the information of the balances. Just try again later.

Hello everyone.

If you have Ukyo.Loan shares, you can claim them at https://loan.weexchange.co/claim
There is also a discussion board there where updates will be posted.

Thank you for your continued patience,
Ukyo

Ukyo was quite active on IRC earlier today. I have tried to separate the two conversations that was going on at the same time.

Is known what happened to the CEO of Neobee? He vanished they say. I wonder if some thugs catched him, got the bitcoins out of him and... hes gone. Such things could be possible at current bitcoin prices.
He posted in the NeoBee thread today:

Thats a good summary of things, I think you got that a few date's wrong thou:

from Ukyo's post the 4 nov
"In connection with BitFunder’s shut-down, please note the following points, which supplement the points outlined in BitFunder’s October 8, and October 11, 2013 notices:
* As of November 14, 2013, no BitFunder user will be able to enter into any new positions or sell positions on the BitFunder website.
* On December 2, 2013, bitcoin balances in the accounts of all users will be transferred to their WeExchange accounts."

I think 8 Oct not 8 July was when us-citizens needed to get verified but they were still allowed to keep trading for a while after that if they got verified and the final trade stop for all users on Bitfunder was the 14 Nov not the 4 Nov.
I copied most of the timeline from one of SebastianJu's posts but apparently introduced some errors  Undecided

Timeline:
  • 2013-10-08 Bitfunder closed for us-residents and verification needed
  • 2013-10-17 Weexchange withdraw problems was first reported. Withdraws remained "processing" / "Could not connect to 2nd stage server" errors. Bitcoind kept crashing, according to Ukyo. Withdraws occasionally worked but the error appeared more often.
  • 2013-11-14 Bitfunder closed
  • 2013-11-12 Ukyo claims he still does manual withdraws from Weexchange funds though its probably the last time.
  • 2013-11-?? Legal issue started around here, according to Ukyo.
  • 2013-11-16 Ukyo removed the deposit address from Weexchange.
  • 2013-11-?? Danny from NeoBee got involved in fixing the issue.
  • 2013-12-17 Weexchange claim portal opens, allowing users to withdraw 6.175%.
  • 2013-12-29 Weexchange's bitcoind client is affected by the "block 277596" issue.
  • 2013-12-30 Ukyo opens the ASICMiner claim portal.
  • 2014-01-22 ActiveMining's CEO starts selling Ukyo's personal ActiveMining shares to recover what he is owed.

Ukyo have been writing on IRC within the last hour:
Code: (#bitfunder)
<Ukyo> hi
<nsa_> hello
<Syloq> Shhh.
* nsa_ whispers
<nsa_> any progress?
<Sebastan> i have to second that question. ukyo?
<Ukyo> for loan stuff? lots of stuff moving forward
<Sebastan> im interested into weexchange...
<Ukyo> sigh. I could say "Yeah, things are moving forward, but I can't tell you anything"
<Ukyo> but thats not exactly how it is
<Ukyo> I wish there was some movement on things
<Ukyo> I would love a chance to say that there has been something
<Sebastan> what about telling us what happened...
<Ukyo> thats kind of wrapped into things
<Ukyo> And to be honest, no matter what I say, unless I can provide proof backing it, will be refuted
<Sebastan> i mean you probably can see that its a bit strange not getting told what happened with ones own bitcoins. i cant imagine a situation where it would hurt to tell the truth. i mean the hacker (or whatever) already knows what happened.
<Ukyo> I was actually hoping that by now most people would have somewhat of an idea of whats going on
<nsa_> Can you say whether the situation at gox is related to weex?
<Sebastan> i cant believe in a gag order since i dont see a sense in it. they are used for catching criminals. stopping a service would stop that purpose.
<Ukyo> nsa_: for all intensive purposes i am only saying that I did not steal the bitcoins
<Ukyo> Sebastan: So many responses I wish I could make. :)
<Sebastan> anyway... i think the letter to you should be on the way already... or is it with you already?
<Ukyo> ?
<Sebastan> from my lawyer
<Ukyo> I havent seen anything ?
<Sebastan> ok... then i have to check back with my lawyer...
<Ukyo> what country did you send it to ?
<Ukyo> heh
<Sebastan> i gave them the weexchange address in australia
<Sebastan> its an australian lawyer
<Ukyo> ah yeah, that would take some extra time to get to me
20  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: March 25, 2014, 07:44:22 PM
So with that venting out of the way, is this the definitive thread on the topic?
If not, where is the best summation of events and status?
I'll chip in to sic a lawyer on his sorry ass - who's coordinating?
Why can I not even access my 6.175%? (I can log in, I can see my balance, can't get to it)
Is the google doc spreadsheet (linked above) of any use? If so, how do I add my loss?
Edit: when I signed up for WeExchange, the website seemed unambiguous that WeExchange was Graet. What is his role in this, and why is he silent in this thread?
There are many threads but this one is probably the best to follow.

Timeline: (fixed)

SOSLOVE868 is currently talking to lawyers about a case against Ukyo.

The spreadsheet was created to figure out how much btc was stuck in weex. The spreadsheet is not of much use now because Ukyo said how much btc weex had available in December (the 6.17%) which makes us able to calculate how much is still stuck in weex. This number turned out to be much larger than what was accumulated in the spreadsheet.

Graet is the Director of Weexchange. He is probably needed, since Weex an Australian company and Ukyo (the owner) lives in the US.

Ukyo was active on IRC yesterday. AFAIK it had been weeks since his last message. Nothing more than a sign of life though, just a "hi" and some guidance to someone who needed a reset of his 2FA.
