What happens when china wakes up in a crash?
If there is a crash. That attempt to create panic seems to have fizzled Doubt this is attempt to create panic, rather the opposite. Whale(s) dumping over time. I don't think you're reading the situation right. It's only the chinese and regular folks prone to panic who are dumping. The real whales are accumulating at these prices. Don't take my word for it. Go back a few pages and carefully read Loaded's posts. They are quite telling (and bullish)..... Well, if I'm reading it wrong it is still making me coins (As in sitting gloriously in fiat, hodling fiat you might say ) Stop it. Hodling fiat is illegal in many countries. Wait... Ewwwwwwwwwww....

822 coin dump to 650.... now below
600 more dumped.... WOW
Except these really aren't huge coin numbers. it will go down for christmas for sure, but: week long bear trap. I think Christmas week through new years will be interesting. Institutional "normal" investors probably won't play but the small may have an opportunity to spend some time getting setup to purchase bitcoins or exchanging fiat for bitcoins. This might be married up with those who have been gifted coins exchanging them for Fiat/products. Mass psychology will definitely be interesting.

FBI actually does what ever the hell they please, anything they cant do public they have mercenary agents for...
The article says that the guy was arrested by Garda Siochana, which is the Irish police. So unless the Irish police are dumb (which is also a possibility), the coins stay with an Irish court. Otherwise I foresee an interesting diplomatic issue arising very very soon. Hopefully people reading the silkroad article and any other such news will remember the above and realize bitcoins themselves aren't bad. Just imagine, all you need to replace that dirty fiat is a QR code tattooed on a private place.

BTChina up 95% from the low 30 hours ago. Seems legit.
seems like bitcoin They are up because the only way to get value out of BTCchina is in BTC??? Am I crazy? They can withdraw CNY. What am I missing? Perhaps I should rephrase. They can only get "stealthy value" out of BTCchina by BTC? I believe there are all sorts of KYC requirements recently enforced but suspect this is only enforced for bank transfers now. Hell, what do I know though. Do I look Chinese? Ofcourse you dont know crap. KYC has already been implemented by BTCCHINA. Meaning, they kept record of all transactions linked to each identity. Do you think they can operate without it? Stop posting already Anger much?

You know, on April 5th one bitcoin was worth 1/300th of a 2007 Porsche Cayman S.
And on Dec 12th one bitcoin was worth 1/216th of a 2014 Lambo Gallardo. So pretty.

Just remember a couple weeks ago Bitcoin was worth 1/216.8 of a 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Coupe. When will 1BTC = 1 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Coupe?
See how fun this new habit is? Stop quoting dollars, start quoting objects of desire.

The immediate trend is strongly UP. On daily basis we are way oversold. I expect an advance to 666 area in the following hours/days. After that, the downtrend resumes and visiting the long-term trendline at about 450 is a strong possibility.
EDIT: Bitstamp
You are usually right. I would love for you to be wrong on this one though. Just tell me when we are going to $10,000 Rpietila! $300k! As a temporary measure I will quote all values in objects of desire. For example, we can ask "when do you think 1BTC will equal one Goat Lambo?" or "when do you think 1BTC will equal an acre of prime Tokyo Real Estate."

This week was the perfect storm. We have a bunch of people that need to cash out for Christmas (I know not everyone celebrates Christmas but I think many do ) couple that with the China fiasco and we have a nice big crash. Just thankful it was not worse really. Next week there will be Christmas money flooding in, and a few people that want to buy before the end of the year for whatever reason, (Perhaps because Second Market is giving a discount on fees if they buy in before the end of 2013 for one example) It will go up before the end of the year. I have no doubts. I think you nailed it I am giving bitcoins as gifts. Suspect a certain fraction of those will be immediately transferred to FIAT. Perhaps a few will hold and use for "real" as either an investment or used in the economy. Not sure if I am a good sample but this would then follow with a Christmas "sell." I would give it a few weeks after Christmas before the behavior settles into a more understandable trend. Then again, who knows, maybe we will all be hunted down by the 'leet financial termination squads in our local regimes and the value will go to zero

Ask yourself one question. What do you think people on the East Coast of US will do when they wake up? Say WOW those are cheap coins. Or, panic in the streets?
I live on the East Coast. I just woke up. And......[shrug]....I've gotta go to work early today. . My vote is that many will think "cheap coins." I feel bad for those who are buying high and selling low though .
