1001  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: February 20, 2014, 11:19:49 PM
How likely you think that the "final capitulation", will happen as last hope of getting coins out of Mt.Gox vanishes and how low you now think we can go?
1002  Economy / Speculation / Re: january truly is the calm before the storm on: January 30, 2014, 10:27:20 PM
after 1. February and no China crash it looks definitely positive.

And we all know there will be a rise again and the next exponential train will bring us to 5k +.

The first wall street buyer will benefit a lot.

China still looks scary, because gov could shut the exchanges down at any day they want. But the longer they wait the less impact it will have on the price.
1003  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 30, 2014, 04:42:31 PM
Indeed.

This is probably the beginning of lots of panic buying, can't see this turning sour now, we are at january 31. in China, and now with the BTCChina news... I'm glad I am all in BTC.

lmao.. the PBOC will respond on business days, currently it's a holiday. Just wait and see.

When is chinese holidays going to end? 7th feb?
1004  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTCchina IS BACK, bank deposits restored!!! on: January 30, 2014, 03:40:29 PM
anybody can confirm this please? BTC price should sky rocket right?

Coindesk just confirmed this news, btcchina accepting bank deposits is the real deal
This is horrible news. We were doing so good with merchant adoption and bitcoin confidence with these stable prices and now all this Chinese bs is going to start up again with all the volatility, manipulative trading, completely unpredictable swings, and of course the inevitable crash when corporate bank accounts for bitcoin are outlawed. Our dreams of finding some legitimately supported price anytime soon will be gone.

This pretty much sums it up. It's almost inevitable, that PBoC will shut these exchanges down at some point, they might aswell do it now so we can get China out of the system. Taking into account their past actions towards bitcoin, it just doesn't make sense that they would let bitcoin exist.
1005  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin plummeting? on: January 24, 2014, 12:37:53 PM
The guys who got insider info of china and/or MtGox sold? This happened at the last crash aswell, just speculating tough.

Quite possible

And if this is the case, we'll probably see serious action tomorrow (china).

1007  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 19, 2014, 03:09:19 PM
Okay so what's happening in China??
1008  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 17, 2014, 07:29:14 PM
It's pretty scary that this is happening without chinese, we'll see what happens when they wake up.
1009  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 15, 2014, 05:54:12 PM

If you sell here do not lose sleep of being left behind

I encourage anyone to look at the weekly chart. I have looked at ever bubble pop / crash / bounce since the beginning and have noticed that anyone you sells above the 7 week moving average post bubble pop bounce CAN REBUY THEIR POSITION for less that they sold for if not substantially less at a later time. Look at the chart yourself. If you sell here don't lose sleep that the train will take off without you.

Now if you sold below the blue line it may be a different story. But it should put alot of ease to people thinking about closing their position (with intention to re-open) currently.

I think this is along the same lines as my trading philosophy. Sell when it has popped and is still obviously high. Buy back near the 30WMA. Naturally always have some of the coins in cold storage because of exchange risk.

Exactly my move. Its what happens after a pop and between the next bubble that fascinates me, and is simply the best way to take profits in a condition you clearly know is over bought (shit just popped last month, what better hint can one get) and still take profits in and area that is still well above the MA.

Flash crashing in 2 weeks dosnt give people time to think and react so the market has to let people think and doubt and revisit support levels to instil confidence before moving to the next level. Its almost too logical. This is why this weeks candle looks loke a Doji. Its exactly how the market feels right now, uncertain if we should go down or up. Its easier to test down then it is to test up.

Too many people got "wealthy" really quickly" The market will allow them to rethink holding any longer after seeing the crash. This is usually reflected by a period of decline after a pop. ]

I also believe BTC will go to $100,000 easy BUT at the same time know the majority of speculators DO NOT and am not nieve to overlook their emotions when making my plays.

So do you still think that we visit ~500$ as we're now close to the second top??
1010  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confirmed Bad News Sources Thread - No FUD, Just Facts!!!1 on: January 15, 2014, 03:27:25 PM
Wow!  I didn't think it could get any worse, but this news out of China...the only thing I can think to say is SOLD and SHOTR.
Care to elaborate?
1011  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM SHOTRING on: January 15, 2014, 03:22:19 PM
SODL and SHOTRING is the only way to go, at this point.  Have you guys seen the latest confirmed bad news out of China.  Sheesh!

Have been watching China situation pretty closely and bearish because of that, but at what exact news are you referring to?
1012  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 12, 2014, 12:17:51 PM
Re-posted as good news:

"Huobi have now switched to funding using a business account where as previously account funding was being made to the CEO's personal account.
The option to fund to his personal account has been removed. This could be good news because the bank has obviously agreed this is OK.
RMB transfer to Huobi's business bank account with China Construction Bank, also registered in Shangdi, Beijing, account number 1100 1045 3000 5301 4342 (does Not support ATM deposits or third-party transfers)."

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1v0y3m/huobi_account_funding_switched_to_a_bank_business/

Well in case they are allowed to keep doing business by the business bankaccount, this isn't bad news, but I really doubt that considering what happened with other exchanges.

So yes I'm a KARHU.
1013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 12, 2014, 11:44:42 AM
Lol people are so stupid. Personal business account is replaced with a more legit business account and there is panic. Wtf

Well other exchanges got their business account blacklisted by banks? So why wouldn't this happen to huobi also?
1014  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 11, 2014, 01:06:58 AM
Upside target made before Overstock news still not reached. Buy more please.

everyone HODL!
What about CHINA??? : D
1015  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Thin Red Line on: January 10, 2014, 02:19:26 PM
and i have heard that there are other cryptocuriencies with faster transaction times and maybe smaller transaction fees, and with a higher total coins amounts to be released. so those would be easier countable, one coin wouldnt need to cost 10 000$ and be divided into shitloads of smaller peaces. so i see no reason why those more advanced coins wouldnt overtake Bitcoin (which has its shortcomings) in the future, when more and more companies would start accepting those other, better coins.
Get a grib son.
1016  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 09, 2014, 02:29:53 PM
850 continues to hold, so the ABC scenario remains in play.  Channel bound 770-850.  The North American day should see a minor uptrend now, unless there is a catalyst.
IMO the minor uptrend just seems like a minor correction to the whale dumps,  think we'll still drift a bit lower today.
1017  Economy / Speculation / Re: China bans bitcoin mining hardware on: January 07, 2014, 07:02:41 PM
What a stupid FUD.  If ebay, an US company,  banned bitcoin miner trading, does it mean the US banned bitcoin miner?

Paypal bans bitcoin sales!!!  OMG!  US bans bitcoins!

Well it was the only place to buy BTCChina vouchers.. So now the voucher system seems pretty fucked up permanently, so if they ban Huobi deposits it's go time.
1018  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 05, 2014, 11:07:36 PM
Hey RP I am interested in your opinion about this. I was thinking about the growth curve of Bitcoin and we are at a point in its growth, where its popular, even and especially by proponents, to say "Bitcoin could go to zero." Or its "huge price or zero no in between". Or critics say "Bitcoin will eventually fail" etc etc etc.

At what point does the general concensus become bitcoin will not fail, bitcoin will not go to zero? Of course, anything can end, but I think most people don't think Google is going to fail or Yahoo or Apple - those are extreme examples just to make a point. Another would be "too big to fail" banks.

But if bitcoin continues to grow, at some point people will assume zero is not an option with bitcoin.

Once this happens, I believe we will have a watershed moment with Bitcoin. When the counter party idea of risk is no longer zero, there will be much less of a cap on the upward momentum of bitcoin price.

I have a feeling that there may be a singular event or a series of frequent events that leads to a shift in the general sentiment regarding bitcoin in this way. I do not know if it will be a certain price point (maybe 5 figures) or some level of adoption.

But psychologically I feel like ridding itself of this "could fail" populist idea is the final frontier for bitcoin.

Not rpietilä, but IMO it's the point where governments (USA) gives offical green light.
1019  Economy / Speculation / Re: China 31st of January on: December 28, 2013, 11:41:22 PM
I read somewhere that there was going to be some meeting between btc exchange people and gov at 29 dec. Can someone shred more light to the case?
1020  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 25, 2013, 10:43:22 PM
Somebody's buying all bitstamp ... I wonder what's up there

maybe oda.krell?

I love it when my own buys make a noticeable candle, pushing it above some interesting price point. (only on Bitstamp, so less volume is needed, but still feels good Cheesy)

I wish Tongue I placed one large-ish buy an hour ago. Now I'm in with all that I'm prepared to spend atm.

damn you oda, fleeing from bear ranks, what's your position now if i may ask? Smiley

EDIT. i'm still 50/50, but maybe i'll adjust that little bit in next oversold situation

I'm all in with the speculative part of my position. Ready to sell (at a loss if necessary) if things don't go the way I hope they do, but the stability of the recent few days is a pretty positive sign IMO, short term at least.

i'm wondering is the stability just because of holidays, but i could be wrong

Mad china is almost out of the picture. Now we can get back to earth. Those guys love gambling/speculation. It's gaming and not realistic. Good riddance but thanks for your (china's) support. Stick to speculating on garlic and who'll get sars next.

As stated earlier, bar the shaking off china up until the end on jan, from here we should see steady but slower growth.

I dont understand these who are saying that China is out, haven't you guys done your research, China is all but out.. They still are holding about 70% of the btc markets volume. So I'm 100% sure that _IF_ chinese gov keep hitting the chinese exchanges like in the past, we are going to see 3rd flash crash.
