Hi All, Its taken me a long time but finally have set up my/our website https://www.qortaldb.com/ I will only host db files here from now on. Anyone who wants to sync faster or view tutorials for Qortal in one place can do so on the site. I will be deleting all the other db links and will update site weekly. Hi All, I have created a fresh bootstrap using my Ryzen 3600 32gb machine, we have done some testing on Discord and it seems to be stable for now, I will keep updating a fresh db as and when i can, just so we have some community nodes happening. We need community nodes as much as we need minting nodes. Hi All, I have made a quick video showing how to fix a node that is on the wrong chain. If you notice you are blocks behind exqlorer or you cant post in Q-Chat you are probably on the wrong chain. the privacy is our focuses point, maybe we can't renounce to the things that are the fundamentals.
That are both reasons why I like this coin and I also experience doubts. Saying you will do something and stick with it (not shifting constantly as others do). But also staying very niche with private payments with no option for public ones. But as with anything, a path must be walked  I think once privacy is highly regarded by the average joe they will flock to coins like uplexa even zcash uses transparent addresses when buying from most exchanges |

As much as it hurts me to say this UPX as a gateway to IoT Advertisement payments would be the way to go, any website can mine UPX, any advert thats displayed on a IoT device could pay to be visible etc, i dont see any other way that would be viable long term, or being a value of data in real time architecture, imagine an autonomous cars will one day be hubs for advertising as well, i can see your car telling you about events happening around you, discounts at cafes or what not, UPX will be the backbone to sevral Dapps that can achieve all of these things to be marketed to seperate audiences etc. The point of difference could be that scalability and fees are better than other options and since UPX is on mobile devices locality and relevance based advertising will be more accurate. Even in the crypto space UPX can market the dapp and steadfast archtecture pitching the scalibility etc, everything built on the ethereum blockchain is as slow as ethereum, thats not the case with UPX but without any dapps being built or other developers willing to give up time to create such things, we the community have to keep it alive.
Nobody creates apps just to use certain tech. There must be a need first and this need has to be understood. Example: Imagine you create the new Angry Birds online Multiplayer game. You code it to use the UPX network for either some transactions, dVPN or something else. Then millions of people download it it and start using it. If some of them wants to buy some stuff or game time or whatever, he must buy UPX tokens and load them into his iOS/Android wallet. @Cappex: Yes, even BTC is not used by the masses, because it turned into store of value coin. Ethereum is stuck between slow transaction time and high fees, Monero is complicated with too much security and is targeted as a money laundering coin, hundreds of small coins are claiming to be the next money. Some of them have great tech behind them, but no real world use case or need for now. Now compare this situation with the car industry and how Elon Musk created the need for Electric car and in only 10 years he managed to push away from the static ladder of car makers all the whales. He is now a trend setter. Another example: Facebook was a student's wet dream years ago, now it dominates The Net. Younger generations are born with a phone in their hands, where no paper money exist. In 10 years these kids will be the trend setters. And as we all know, things grow very fast in the Internet and computers are getting faster and faster. See the beauty of Dapps built on UPX would be punters wont even need to know what UPX is to be using it, they can just buy angry bird coins which is a dapps token with UPX as the foundation. People would just think they are trading angry bird coins for in-game purchases etc but really in the back end itll be UPX. |

The charging companies probably don't like the idea that the transactions are anonimous, since they have to report to a tax agency/government.
I am interested to know what idea's the uPlexa team themselves have about the implementation of UPX. And I don't mean the toaster, consoles, phone and stuff. I think their position on those is already quite clear, but I mean implementation in the bigger picture, like the aforementioned charging stations, green energy projects etc. With Steadfast Storm approaching they have other things on their mind right now, but some vision (apart from ecommerce) regarding this must have been looked at the last year.. I thought something was mentioned in the white paper as an exemple. But the anonimity of the whole UPX story makes it -in my opinion- very hard to get partnerships with serious bussinesses.
I agree with you that to partner a serious business is not possible coupled with too much anonymity. Probably if there was a way to make certain transactions anonymous, and some public, it would work. @Cappex: Amazon is wealthy enough to build their own coin. They don't need UPX. UPX is needed at some small or medium size business with a lot of small transactions which still cost a lot of money to execute. Various online services: CDN, dVPN (which is actually planned in future for uPlexa) online streaming, maybe even some online game. @Korifeetxs Wise words from QuantumLeaper (regarding the "internal" eco system building). Huge corps can start a blockchain from scratch any time. Why would they want to invest in some crypto currency? we must focusses on the next gen... the today young will be the tomorrow utilisator of UPX coins... console is the right choice, all of us and our sons have a console, not only the new system but also xbox, ps3 i don't know if we can go more back... simple app with wallet integrated, download, run... a little config like password or 2fa, setup the wallet in to the miner and go... to the moon... i am excited
I like your idea Cappex. Game consoles have excellent cooling and they are used around 20-30% of the day, others skip whole days of not using them. The only issue is how to make it run 3rd party app. I also fully agree that crypto users in 5-10 years will be the today's kids. Guys, any other ideas for suitable IoT mining devices? (so far mentioned: phones and game consoles). IoT will be in every thing lol heres an exerpt from an article. Imagine saying Alexa, mine Uplexa it fucking rhymes and everything. Or siri, hey google mine uplexa... 7. Yea, unfortunately due to halving and everything else i've turned off my miners for now. will be turning them on again when the price increases and some of the big miners leave. How about everyone else?
I turned on my miners to see if the reward is really halved, but instead I'm getting almost the same yield from same CPUs. So either because of dificulty or something else. Since I'm not selling, I don't care about the price. @thesudio What changes do you expect them to notice? Yeah my motive is to aquire enough to run 3 nodes and i only have a single gaming machine with a 1080ti the price is too good right now to pass up lol I wonder if more little rigs will join up or see if higher hash rate miners leave for other coins. My hope is we grt more decentralized i wanna see upx mining apps for android tvs that activate when its got no display inputs or phone miners that turn on during inactive hours ect coupled with nice guis... i wish i was more programming savvy instead of data entry type layman stuff lol id build it for upx myself |

On the topic of decentralization and UPX listing on bisq. Here is a resource Komodo released, obviously biaaed but raises great points on what to look out for but since bisq isnt compared i wonder if we can reach out to them to see how they fair against the competition...? https://komodoplatform.com/decentralized-exchange/Wow, pretty extensive article on DEXs. Thanks for it, I learned a lot (although I did not understand everything). Maybe uPlexa team can consider listing to other DEXes than Bisq? Now here are my after fork mining results: I mine almost the same amount of coins as before. I cannot explain it, but it's a fact. The only difference is the slightly lower network difficulty. But it is not that low either. Has anyone else observed almost same mining results after the fork compared to before it? That link is really interesting and an eye opener! About the mining rewards, I'd say it usually balances itself quite nicely, as some whales will leave the network, making the overall profitability better for those who stay. I haven't tried mining recently so I can't say more, are you still having the same income after some days? What kind of rig are you mining with? Mining income dropped with price and now itll be half that, i have been mining BEAM and swapping for btc on binance and buying upx which has been much better returns but beam also had a halving of price recently lol |
