1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New research proves: MtGox bitcoins NOT stolen using transaction malleability on: March 27, 2014, 04:30:23 AM
Wow -
So roughly 66k bitcoins were stolen after MtGox freeze?  Who lost that much and is still afloat?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 11, 2013, 05:00:41 PM

What's the point of selling 8cores 1GB, but not allowing maximum cpu utilization. Folks who choose many cores and small ram must want to squeeze every bit of cpu.

If every user used 100% of the service they purchase phone calls would cost $1 a minute, virtual servers would not exist, and you would still have to visit a college to get online.
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer & Hubs "Oh Pi"! on: July 09, 2013, 06:48:29 AM

is the fan needed for the asicminers?

Not at all, but it's nice to have.  I think the heatsinks do a lot more to cool the chips down
4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer & Hubs "Oh Pi"! on: July 09, 2013, 06:09:00 AM
Hi guys, I just noticed the items I bought last month are a lot cheaper.

Arctic Breeze Fan was $17.98 - now $8.99!
Edimax wireless was $21.94 - now $10.97!

Guess all our buying lowered prices  Tongue
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt ASIC on: July 07, 2013, 05:51:57 PM
ASIC chips designed to mine bitcoins will never mine scrypt-based coins.  It's not a problem of RAM, the problem is the chips spit out SHA hashes which are not compatible with scrypt.

7  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Raspberry PI w/ case and wireless (mBTC) on: June 10, 2013, 09:12:08 PM
Is that shipping included worldwide?

I can ship to Canada or the US - thanks for the question I'll edit the first post
8  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] Raspberry PI w/ case and wireless (mBTC) on: June 10, 2013, 08:55:28 PM

Item is sold - this thread is now closed

Amazon - Raspberry PI
Amazon - Clear Case
Amazon - Wireless

Selling verified working Raspberry PI with wireless and case in like new condition!

Used it for about a week with minepeon but decided to go with a different low-power option.

Perfect match for ASICMiner Erupter USB and BFL devices!

Combined total for these 3 items is $67.50 - selling here for 650 mBTC shipping included (US or Canada)!

I want to build some reputation here, so I've priced it lower than cost.  I am OK with sending first so long as the buyer has enough rep otherwise I would want BTC in hand before shipping.

Here is my ebay feedback page: http://myworld.ebay.com/redcomet87
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GROUP BUY] 100 KnC Jupiter 1-500 on: June 07, 2013, 11:49:22 PM
Well this looks fun - a 100 unit order.

I assume we would pay shipping after you receive the units?

Would you foresee any problems shipping to the US?

I have been sitting on the fence about KNC, but this seems like a good deal.

I'll send 1 btc over once I get it from my exchange.

EDIT:
At current rates 1 jupiter would be 64 btc - can you list what all the 70 btc covers exactly?

This would be fun, you should start a bounty
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Ignoring KNC pre-order sellers on: June 06, 2013, 09:04:13 PM
Hey all - I've been not too happy with the way KNC basically created a secondary market for 1-500 "Golden Ticket" pre-orders causing many users of this forum to consider the action of sending in a contact form a month ago to be worth up to 10 btc.  So I did what any reasonable person would do and ignore everyone I have seen selling these tickets.

I realize that being on my ignore list probably does not mean much to these people, but if anyone else feels the same way I do - I am posting these usernames here for other people to ignore.

For the record - I believe these people have the right to charge whatever they want for their "effort."  If there is a market, then there is nothing wrong with exploiting it.  However I also believe we have the right to no longer communicate with sellers who have demonstrated less than favorable intentions.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Offical launch of PhenixCoin.com on: June 06, 2013, 05:58:04 PM
I like this coin because it has 10x the support and usage of any other non-major alt coin and no one seems to know about it.

Not too long ago I bought 10k LTC at 60 cents each - holding over 30k PXC now and feel the same feeling.

15  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] KNC Jupiter on: June 04, 2013, 06:33:09 PM

Will update more once I have confirmation on refund.

If they confirm a refund in the purchase agreement if unable to deliver I would double the BTC amount I PMed you about.
16  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: BFL 5 GH/s ASIC miner on: June 04, 2013, 05:08:37 PM
Well, I'll make an offer of 8 BTC

I am being generous with the difficulty estimating to even achieve that much.

It's really difficult to plan for more than 1 month ROI these days.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter and Raspberry Pi on: June 03, 2013, 09:35:54 AM
I have bfgminer working on minepeon - had to compile from git, the one installed by default does NOT work.

I posted some instructions and such here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=220905.msg2326740#msg2326740
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] ELACOIN hard fork block #17820 - base reward = difficulty! ELC giveaway! on: June 03, 2013, 07:44:59 AM
Glad to see people working on the coin - but where is Milkshake?

19  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer, Hubs "oh my"! on: June 03, 2013, 04:47:01 AM
I am also seeing about 1% HW errors - and my units are no longer hot now that I have moved things around a bit.
I believe these numbers to probably be normal  Undecided
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: SELLING: Working Avalon ASIC miner (NOT a preorder) on: May 31, 2013, 09:09:17 PM
Good decision placing that batch 1 order!
Well, it was far from a certain bet at the time... remember, Avalon was supposed to ship 5 months AFTER the BFL initially...

Yeah I am not trying to be rude - just a little facetious.

Personally I would think very seriously about buying something with more than 1 month ROI.  If people are right about growth 73ghs will only get 1 btc a day in a month  Cry
