241  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best site for blackjack and or dice? on: January 19, 2015, 03:26:28 AM
dice = safedice

or not, if you read the first post:

Quote
I kinda wanna wager 5 BTC on one hand, and well hope for the best. lol.

Safedice has a 3.8276 max win right now.

If you're going to dice 5 BTC on one roll, just use primedice. Why risk it at any other site? Gamble on dice and then gamble on being able to withdraw or not  Cheesy

Safedice has a variable house edge system, that the edge will be lower than 1% (norm for all other sites) if your bet's profit < 10% of max win.
So if your bet's profit is higher than 0.38 btc, you should avoid SafeDice, even though it has a max win of 3.8 btc.
242  Economy / Gambling / Re: Diggit.io | Over Dice? | 800+ BTC Already Invested! | Max win 15+ BTC! | 1% Edge on: January 19, 2015, 02:50:34 AM
Hey guys I recorded Z losing his 10 BTC
Check it out!

http://youtu.be/fRSbm-McbB8

Saw the video.
That's a big loss and I would not want to be in his shoes.

Does anyone have a good strategy on playing at this site?

Don't gamble more than you can lose.
Like other purely luck games (dice, roulette, etc), I am afraid there is no working strategy to help you beat the house edge.

what business do you own that you can double the money in 100 hours!

Those claiming to have discovered a bug in the wallet software, those claiming to be world-class traders, those claiming to be mining with free electricity.
244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is there a bitcoin pool like cointellct ? on: January 16, 2015, 11:55:19 AM
i mined from cointellect by using cgminer but i get nothing but use their software i always get low hashrate (10kh/s) but when i use cgminer it's about 100Mh/s . What's problem here ?

Ah yeah I ever like this when I mined with cointellect software I just get low hash. Maybe their use my hash for their mine Huh
After that I quit for mining Roll Eyes

Dont use their software...never ... some people says that it has virus yeah if you wanna mine with them use another software

It does have a virus...every time I tried to open it my antivirus shut it down.....avoid it!

Oh oke. I already uninstall that software.
How about eobot software? That software have a virus too?

I haven't tried it and wouldn't try it, but judging from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0, the software is possibly a wallet stealing software.

EvilPanda's update in OP:

The promised update:
I still haven't received the coins, and haven't heard from GAW, so the campaign will most likely close this month.

not the good date.

That date shown is the creation date of the OP (Mar 25, 2014), but if you hovers your mouse pointer over the post time, you will see the last edit date is Jan 10, 2015.
246  Other / Meta / Re: Does donating take away account restrictions? on: January 15, 2015, 03:18:45 PM
Relations between your activity level and posting time limit:
What are the time limits on posting and the levels??
I know 360 seconds are for new people like me, but was wondering if there was break down somewhere on this.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

So you just need to withstand the annoying 360s limit until you get 15 activity, and the limit will then be just 75s.
247  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2015 The year of the Ponzi, BE WARNED! on: January 15, 2015, 03:04:12 PM
I just hope the ponzi phase gets over soon on bitcointalk. Else, it will get crazy here .

IIRC, the gambling section was full of ponzi threads as well somewhere around Feb 2014, and the hype died down in a month or so. And it now comes back again, and will probably come back again and again...  Sad

is there going to be an open spot in this camp and more importantly is the sig camp going to continue?

EvilPanda's last post in this thread:

There are funds for January, but not February, so I'm not re-enroling people at the moment.
If you want to gamble a bit you can keep the sig as long as you want and if I get the funds you'll receive normal payment in February.

EvilPanda's update in OP:

I still haven't received the coins, and haven't heard from GAW, so the campaign will most likely close this month.
249  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Mines true probabilities and edges on: January 11, 2015, 04:24:23 PM
If you want to minimize the house edge, you should always play the 1-bomb game and cashout after making 1 dig.
The house edge would be about 0.16% only.

Sharing your picks after the matches are over makes no sense at all, as it doesn't show how good your picks are.
Everyone can check the scoreline after the match and give out winning picks retrospectively.

If everybody would just send 1 BTC then all transactions would complete.
Only last 3 would not be paid.

Last 3? It seems to me that you don't quite understand how ponzi works.

Assuming the table of payments on the site is correct, there are about 254 btc to be paid.
Even if OP doesn't charge any fee, it will require 254 persons to invest 1 btc to clear all those pending transactions. But then all those 254 new deposits will need to wait for 330.2 btc new deposits to be paid.
252  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stay away from bitcoin-stocks.com ! on: January 11, 2015, 02:27:52 PM
People forget that Pirate was offering only 7% per week and now everyone can see that it was clearly a scam. This is offering almost double that and people are still investing, makes no sense.

I dont understand how people fall for 425% in 60 days ... if that was true ... world hunger would be over in 1 month ... LOL

Because they are more gullible than we can ever imagine.

This is not from the bitcoin stocks thread but from another ponzi thread:
STOP being so negative guys, ''you are not going to get paid'' WELL why BTC payouts running right now? Why isn't the website shut down? Dumbasses, and ponzi? YEAH NO SHIT. Only idiots don't know what they are investing into. Just think positive and you'll see Wink
So basically, even after so many warnings, some still don't think it is a ponzi...
253  Economy / Gambling / Re: Story about a big win > 5 BTC on a gambling website on: January 11, 2015, 02:11:59 PM
if anyone can win that much...that person is the most lucky person in this forum

A win of 5 BTC is just dust when compared with hufflepuff's 2000+ BTC win on Primedice. Cheesy

Or nakowa on just-dice who won a few thousands BTC

It is amazing for hufflepuff to win 2000+ BTC when the max bet is 40 BTC, what type of martingale was he playing? Not that it changes anything.

He didn't use martingale but just made a lot of 3x bets, gambling 12 bitcoin on each of the bets.

255  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has Bitstamp actually lost roughly 19000 BTC?!? on: January 07, 2015, 02:34:33 AM
The hacker mmust be proud of himself. He's now a rich man.
The easiest way to get money in crypto is to scam ant steal Sad

Mark Karpeles approves this message.

*Whistles* that's a lot of bitcoins.  Does Bitstamp have any idea who did it?  If the hacker does sell the bitcoins, it'll probably crash the whole market...

I don't think the hacker will be that stupid to sell his bitcoin on the market all at once, but slowly over time after mixing his coins.

Thanks for the alert.
It is IMO always better to use a popular site, though it won't be failproof.

What about PayCoin? Is not it innovative? It should be considered good coin or is it too early for that?

I don't know much about Paycoin and GAW, but here is what theymos feels about them.

Read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0 before you buy a cloud mining contract.
Check https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator before you buy a physical miner or a cloud mining contract.

The site above is the best comparison I've ever seen about cloudmining companys. It perfectly demonstrates that almost every service is just a Ponzi!

Exactly. Many of those cloud mining companies just set up a fancy site, and claims to have lots of hashrate without any proof.
Unfortunately many bitcoin users didn't do much research before sending their bitcoin to those companies.
