301  Other / Meta / Re: Stop the scammers on BCT on: December 16, 2014, 04:48:56 AM

Anyone who wants to create an coin can do it and it has nothing to do with bct.
Howgh.
we all know 80% of coins are born on BCT, im just saying let's do something to protect crypto world

In the short amount of time it took me to read this thread, 5 new cryptocurrencies were created.  Cheesy
lol  Cheesy
Just check the post above mine, that guy is right, they are not born on bct, they only have annoucment thread here also.
They can just create other forum and it will become popular for altcoin users/traders.

They can be allowed to make new coins, but should go trough a filter first imo before being allowed to announce it and not like how it is now where 1 scammy ass person creates a new account for every new coin he wants to trick people with to continue to rob people. Bct is to a degree accountable for the scams happening. It's a like a nightclub with no bouncers.

What about simply removing the whole altcoin section? That way, people will not be allowed to announce or discuss anything related to altcoin on bitcointalk. Smiley
302  Other / Meta / Re: {request to administrator} negative feedback within few seconds of registration on: December 16, 2014, 04:39:49 AM
i think you should remove negative feedback and give it a neutral trust rating.may be he is a legit user, better give him a chance.about confusion on name , all people who deal with redsn0w know with his green trust rating
a green trust and no trust rating is already a big difference.if the user found involved in any specious activity then give him negative rating with a solid reason and shut his mouth
I'd have to dig up specific cases in the scam accusation section, but you would be surprised how people sometimes do fall for it.

Here is an example of such imposter scam. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=665923.0

Yup, it seems obvious enough "theymo5" is different from "theymos" together with the huge difference in their trust and activity level, but still ...
303  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★★★RipDice★★★ Launch Promotion!! 5% Deposit Bonus until November! on: December 15, 2014, 03:26:14 PM

yay. it is a fake tag.

Quote
Tagging an address has nothing to do with bitcoin itself or the owner of an address.
It's a "feature" offered by some services that allows anyone to create a "tag" and tie it to a transaction or address. This is often abused to create advertising spam on high traffic addresses.
Here you can find some of the tags, or try to tag random addresses yourself. https://blockchain.info/tags

Quote
It also allows tagging by putting the address on a web site and not needing to sign anything. See the second tab "Website" tagging. Probably that is what they did. Seems it's not on the page now so I guess they only verify once - which is dumb. Really dumb.

If he put the fake tag on an address with just a few bitcoin, he may be able to fool a few careless persons. But he went too far to tag that 134000 bitcoin address lol.
304  Economy / Gambling / Re: So I turned 1 BTC into 4.5 playing blackjack on Betchain on: December 15, 2014, 03:18:59 PM

Congrats to you buddy! I have never had any luck with BJ  Wink

I wonder if it is possible to use the counting cards techniques they always talk about in movies and all at on-line casinos.

I don't think so. It's basically pointless to try and count cards when you don't know how many decks are being used or how many cards have been played in the shoe. Betchain doesn't indicate a number of decks.

Some casinos do specify how many decks they used such as https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130242.msg7711847#msg7711847.

Will you be able to beat the house by counting cards in that case?
305  Economy / Gambling / Re: BalloonBit.com | Provably Fair | 1% House Edge | Original gambling game on: December 15, 2014, 03:11:25 PM
Hello everyone. Sorry for temporary absence, we are significantly busy improving the BalloonBit.com. New version of Try for free is done for more similarity to the real Game. Chat remade. Immediate access to daily logs is added. Working hard to merit your confidence. More features are coming soon.

IMHO, you should just pay dooglus before improving your site.
With the red warning under your name, it will be very difficulty for you to get trusted and for you to attract new users to your site, no matter how much you have done to improve your site.
306  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Site Cold Storage and Bankroll on: December 15, 2014, 03:08:17 PM
The more they keep in their hot wallet, the more they could lose in case of a exploit or an attack.
The more they keep in their cold wallet, the more likely their customers will need to wait for a manual processing for the withdrawals.

They should definitely keeping the majority of their bitcoin in cold wallet, but it is their job to strike a balance between the pros and cons and decide the % themselves.
307  Economy / Gambling / Re: BalloonBit.com | Provably Fair | 1% House Edge | Original gambling game on: December 11, 2014, 09:52:15 AM
Why doesn't balloonbit payout 1BTC to dooglus, set a higher bankroll or at least lower the max bet, and solve the problem?

Judging from the PMs from Balloonbit to dooglus in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=869272.msg9793914#msg9793914, he has a big problem in his bankroll and he even asked dooglus to not withdraw his account balance...

If you want to get profit when gambling, go to Win88.

Win88 has the same house edge as Primedice, it is as likely to get profit there as on other 1% edge dice sites.

313  Economy / Gambling / Re: Request for making a bot ! on: December 05, 2014, 12:12:10 PM
Hello all ,

I have a strategy for dice gambling .

The strategy is very simple and seems it's profitable .

I think if someone can make a bot for it , dice sites such as Primedice [that are trusted] are going to down due profitability of the bot !

Who is ready for making that bot for Primedice ?

I don't know what strategy you have in mind, but there is no way you can make gambling +EV with a series of independent -EV games.

316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: wallet security on: December 04, 2014, 05:53:08 AM
If it is for long-term storage, you're totally safe with a paper wallet that has been created on an offline machine that never connects to the Internet again. If the randomness is derived from a non-deterministic source, you should be really really fine, even without buying a trezor. A trezor is very nice for people who actually do transact their BTC on  a regular basis.

i want for longterm holding. but what if that paper wallet gets wet or thrown away by mistake?

You can make a few backups of your paper wallet. Also, you can laminate the papers to make it water-proof and more durable.
317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello on: December 04, 2014, 05:32:21 AM
In bitcoins there is no middleman, the middleman is a public blockchain where each transaction is written following cryptography rules.

Perhaps he meant folks who buy bitcoin on exchanges and sell on localbitcoins for a premium. I'm pretty sure you can make serious money that way if you dodge AML/KYC rules...

Onkel Paul

Yup, very likely.

There is another small possibility that his friend is working as a escrow service provider, and he could possibly earn a small % of the trade amount.
318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is a blockchain.info wallet in Tor browser secure? on: December 04, 2014, 04:41:35 AM
Just use an offline wallet to keep your bitcoin safe. If you want to hide your IP, you can push your raw transactions on blockchain.info/pushtx with Tor.
319  Economy / Reputation / Re: Public Apology on: December 03, 2014, 12:59:52 PM
Roll Eyes Nobody is going to believe that you simply forgot that you had an alt account and also forgot that it tried to extort someone. This is such a half-hearted apology full of excuses that I have even less respect for you than I already did. I don't really know what you expected by even making this.

Even if it is a sincere apology, I doubt people will change their mind and remove their negative feedback or consider him trustworthy.
320  Other / Meta / Re: Two-Factor Authentication for BitcoinTalk on: December 03, 2014, 12:42:04 PM
the question is why would we need this security on the forum? Many guys would like to check some news immediately instead of digging out the cellphone for the code. I think its an overhead that would block the flow of communication.

In the other view of course we would like to put everything into a safe to make us fell save.

Because an old bitcointalk account has considerably high value now, and those trusted accounts could be used to scam a considerably amount of money if it has been hacked.

If you just want to check the news, you probably don't need to log in.
