Welcome to bitcointalk, riseabove88. Thanks for the tips. I'm surprised i found someone locally on here so quick so I'm a little relieved to be able to meet up and do an in person purchase. No risk of online fraudsters getting me. Yet. Be careful, don't get robbed lol. Just kidding

I was wondering, what would be a safe way for both parties involved to exchange traditional currencies with bitcoins? I'd prefer to do my trading online if possible. I've seen listings on eBay for them, but I feel that buying from there might inconvenience the sellers if PayPal decides to freeze their accounts.
IMO, the safest way of buying bitcoin should be using bitstamp or coinbase.

You need to control you money by yourself. we don't need banks!
+1. Never store your bitcoin on exchange or "btc bank", as it can go down anytime even if it is (was) the largest one.

Started mining on my two 5750s at 360ish MH/s in early 2013. Stopped it when new worthwhile games came out and I favored plaing them to mining :p. Now jumped back in with two antminer U2s.
Pretty high hash rate to start with, how much hash power one antminer U2 has? IIRC, it should hash at ~2GH/s .

But people say there maintenance fees are 20-30%.
It is in fact at 29.67% now. http://cex.io/maintenanceAnd it will keep rising when the hashrate price drops. The fee is really high but in your opinion do people make profit with cex.io? what hash rate should i buy to make profit? Profit i mean with selling hash to someone else in a month or so. IMHO, nope. The FHM is priced at 0.0041 now, and GHS price (at 0.0080 now) should move towards it and eventually reach it in a month.

Is this still on? Just curious
It is always on, just the faucet amount has been increased from 100 satoshi to 500 now.

Just post the private key and someone will eventually crack it. Private key? Looks like it is a typo here.

true or not
It should be obvious. Use your common sense.

Who is the founder of BTC-e?
Biggest question BTC-E handles millions USD trades a day, but no one knows who owns it for years.

Don't they also charge for a mixer service?
You mean the "shared send" feature? It has been removed for quite some time already.

nope I can't see it.. it doesn't load at all.
Me neither, and OP last active on Mar 13. Guess the site is dead already.

They dont like requests more often than 15 mins either.
Any one know the request limit for Coinbase?

We are all well aware that it is not profitable to do so and is less productive than banging one's head against the wall, however hobbyism and enthusiasm has made me do it last summer, and I considered it multiple times for the heck of it. Leaving one out of 8 GPUs bitcoin mining isn't much of a loss anyway.
Even when you are mining for fun, why don't you GPU mine scrypt altcoins?
