81  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: question about Bitcoin and Market prices on: December 10, 2014, 08:48:46 AM
Thank you all
what is the best way to analyse the market price and how btc-e made average ; high and low ?

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/ is very useful if you want to keep track and analyze the market prices of different markets. You can see the price, volumes and live order book at the same time.
82  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you spending your Bitcoin? on: December 10, 2014, 08:44:56 AM
Not really. I have only sent a small amount of bitcoin to my friends to teach them how to use bitcoin.
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you help me get BTC-E Average into a Google Sheet? on: December 10, 2014, 08:40:34 AM
If you simply want to log the bitcoin price, you can just use http://www.coindesk.com/price/ and download the datapoints as CSV.
If you want to get the current price shown on google doc, http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/18gglz/one_bitcoin_google_spreadsheetscripts_api_to_rule/ should be helpful to you.
84  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: wallet security on: December 10, 2014, 08:34:10 AM
I know you can use blockchain.info but how many wallets have an 'import private key' option so you can transfer your entire paper wallet balance to an online or desktop based wallet?

I'm just preparing for the future because blockchain.info can't be the only option incase it ever goes down.

You can import private keys to all those common wallets like Bitcoin Core, Electrum, MultiBit and Armory. So you shouldn't need to worry about that.
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Core Wallet Recovery on: December 10, 2014, 08:24:42 AM
Write down what you can remember now, and try to think about the remaining part.

Unless the pass was a really short phrase I dont think its doable, so it sounds dodgy to me.
OP, did you use any weird characters like @ >< whatever? how was the pass like? how long?
Depending on how long and what characters you use not even NSA will break it in a lifetime of bruteforcing, unless they have some alien tech shit.

Exactly. Unless you have a short password, or you can remember majority of your password, it won't be feasible to brute-force it.

i need a script that i know the first 9 charasters but not the rest could be unto 9 long

Hello I opened a wallet long ago i have 0.8 btc, I absolutely remember not the password, I just know that I put 10 characters with uppercase in the word. Is it possible to have a script that test every possible combination of word 10 character?

It's not feasible to guess completely random passphrases.  Here are how many days it it will take with one CPU:

Code:
passphrase length            lowercase         alphanumeric        any character
                   1                 0.00                 0.00                 0.00
                   2                 0.00                 0.00                 0.00
                   3                 0.00                 0.03                 0.10
                   4                 0.05                 1.71                 9.43
                   5                 1.38               106.03               895.58
                   6                35.75              6574.10             85080.08
                   7               929.61            407594.28           8082607.59
                   8             24169.80          25270845.55         767847721.40
                   9            628414.78        1566792424.34       72945533532.94
                  10          16338784.22       97141130308.84     6929825685629.39

Even with a large budget (thousands of CPUs or GPUs) you could only do 6 or 7 characters.

It's only possible to crack a passphrase when you know most of it and the unknown part is constrained.  That's why I have so many custom tailored scripts in this thread - each targets a narrow pattern which could be identified.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make a block explorer on: December 10, 2014, 08:18:28 AM
I was lucky enough  to hear blockchain.info at a conference.  They are HUGE.   It would be very hard to compete with them.

I was impressed with how much work they put into some projects.  Like their mobile app they checked places that took bitcoin to make sure up to date.  Just to do this is a lot of manpower.

If you have a new idea it might be able to break into market but redoing blockchain.info will be hard to compete with.

It is very hard to compete with blockchain.info, not only because it is already established and has a good brand name, but also because they have a wallet service which brings them stable users and new users to the block explorer every day.

* BTC25 removed (not working)

It has stopped paying already after just 1.5 months? If so, that is really short lived. Tongue
88  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitminter and minepeon not mineing any coins on: December 10, 2014, 08:01:43 AM
Bitminter pays with PPLNS, so your shares will earn you some satoshi only if they are in the last 10 shifts when a block is found.

If you check https://bitminter.com/shifts, you will notice sometimes 1TH/s will generate you more bitcoin, sometimes it will give you less, and sometimes it will give you nothing.
89  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: December 10, 2014, 07:53:21 AM

JD was one of the best bitcoin casinos, but it is no longer a bitcoin casino now. But I am sure it is definitely the best clam casino lol. Smiley
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-e - £1500 Stolen on: December 10, 2014, 07:49:45 AM
2 months and no money from BTCe. They are the next gox ppl. At least the lawyer is on it. If you want his contact let me know.
They are now trying to dick the lawyer about but he has ways of making them sort this. Apparently very lawful ways. So my advice. Get a good lawyer and sort it. Otherwise BTC will steal your funds.

Dont say I did not warn you.

What is the excuse they use for not processing your transaction? Or they simply don't respond to your support ticket?
91  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The actual best way you have found to earn bitcoins? on: December 10, 2014, 07:44:07 AM
I think one of  the best way to earn bitcoin is buying cloud mining contracts (go to cex.io/), which is eliminating the hassle of operating and maintaining mining rigs by yourself.

Cex.io hashrate is the the highest priced but the site allows you to trade your hashrate at any time, which is good if you plan to do so.
But if you are not going to trade your hashrate, it is better to use other cheaper cloud mining services.

I'd like to be added to ^^

OP is asking for suggestions for faucets, rather than your address...
I don't think there is any active giveaway here in this thread.
93  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do You Check The Balance....... on: December 10, 2014, 07:29:06 AM
Other than checking your address balance on block explorers, you could also make a watch-only wallet to keep track of your balance. It is convenient if you have multiple paper wallets and don't want to check the address balance one by one.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Ad Network? on: December 10, 2014, 07:22:45 AM
You can try to use adbit.co, a-ads.com and coinurl.com. They all pay you directly in bitcoin.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where did Blockchain.info go?!!! on: December 10, 2014, 07:18:28 AM
This may not be directly related to the de-listing, but is related to blockchain.info security level.

Blockchain.info wallet users have lost hundreds of bitcoin in the last 2 days due to https://github.com/blockchain/My-Wallet/commit/98d5a7ca59ef04d06ac6aee468634b12975a0f5c

Fortunately, someone noticed the bug, took the bitcoin temporarily to keep it safe from bad guys and returned 255 btc to blockchain.info. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581411.msg9791998#msg9791998

It is true that blockchain.info don't have your private keys normally, but their bugs could still make you lose your bitcoin.
96  Other / Meta / Re: My trust level is not rising up on: December 10, 2014, 07:09:00 AM
Your trust level will look different to everyone based on who they have in their own trust network/depth.

Your trust will rise when other trustworthy people add you to their networks

trust has nothing to do with how many trusted people put you in their trust network, but how many positive trusts you got from other people.

I think in theory is possible for you to be in the trust list and the trust you give have high height, but you still have a 0/0 trust

Exactly. You can be on someone's trust list while not being given any trust feedback, or vice versa.
For example, if you check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;full, you will see the user "dilatedPixel" is on theymos' trust list while not having any feedback.
97  Other / Meta / Re: My trust level is not rising up on: December 10, 2014, 07:00:42 AM
Trust level displayed for any user depends on whether the accounts who gave feedback are in your trust list.
Most users don't have an individual trust list, so the default trust is used, and it seems that none of the prople who gave you positive feedback are in default trust.
Anyway, your feedback history is pretty nice, good job!

Onkel Paul

If i add these people in my trust list will my trust level increases ?

If you add those people to your own trust list, then from your point of view, your trust will go up.
But from our point of view, your trust will still be neutral because those people are not in our trust list.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitnopoly on: December 10, 2014, 06:56:33 AM
It is a online gambling game you play with Bitcoins, pretty much like the person vs person in the primedice.

Just in case someone wonders dafuq is OP about

The site looks good with those p2p games like backgammon, yatzy and dominoes, but there are not enough active users.

Agree, it's looking pretty good but they could use some marketing. I wasn't even aware that such site existed.

Sig campaign wouldn't be a bad idea  Wink
indeed but as far as i know they dont take a fee so they dont make profit if im right...
dont know how they will pay the sig campaign, ill contact the owner Smiley

If they don't have funds for advertising, at least the owner can make a thread in gambling or service announcement and bump it from time to time to attract new users.
99  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's a good wallet for Linux? on: December 10, 2014, 06:45:21 AM
Bitcoin Core, Electrum, MultiBit, Armory are all good. You can also use web wallets like blockchain.info or hardware wallets like Trezor on Linux. To pick one of them, you should first decide which feature do you want the most, is it convenience or security?
100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Considering accept Bitcoins for services - recommendations? on: December 10, 2014, 06:37:45 AM
It is easiest to accept bitcoin through bitpay or coinbase as you won't need to worry about the ups and downs of bitcoin price. You can sign up for the free plan to test it first.
