1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why people don't vote? on: October 16, 2018, 04:38:37 PM
Education  Data show that the single biggest predictor of whether someone will vote is whether they hold a college degree, Burden notes. College graduates make more money, on average. They are more likely to look for information about politics. And they are more likely to have friends who vote. People without a college degree, he says, are less likely to seek out political information. They also are less likely to have friends who care about politics or talk about voting.
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are some countries still so rich and others so poor on: October 02, 2018, 07:46:46 PM
Economic growth of less-developed economies is key to closing the gap between rich and poor countries. Differences in the economic growth rate of nations often come down to differences in inputs (factors of production) and differences in TFP—the productivity of labor and capital resources. Higher productivity promotes faster economic growth, and faster growth allows a nation to escape poverty. Factors that can increase productivity (and growth) include institutions that provide incentives for innovation and production. In some cases, government can play an important part in the development of a nation's economy. Finally, increasing access to international trade can provide markets for the goods produced by less-developed countries and also increase productivity by increasing the access to capital resources.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: How bitcoin can help for working abroad specially OFW on: September 08, 2018, 01:06:28 PM
Many people work hard to earn money only for it to last momentarily. This is not bad per se, especially if you have mouths to feed and mountain of bills to pay. OFWs are the best example of this. They send money to their families in the Philippines until nothing is left to save. That is why it’s very important that they learn how to invest because this doesn’t only help them budget their earnings better, but also secure their future.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and Deflation of Price and Money Supply on: July 03, 2018, 11:33:43 AM
The theory most discussed in the relationship between prices and the money supply is called the quantity theory of money. The quantity theory proposes the exchange value of money is determined like any other good, with supply and demand. The basic equation for the quantity theory, developed by American economist Irving Fisher, is expressed as: (total money supply) x (velocity of money) = (average price level) x (volume of economic transactions).
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: one piece is the best anime ever...... on: May 21, 2018, 06:27:56 PM
Many would not want to watch this anime just for the reason that the characters doesn't look quite nice compare to other animes, I would admit that I was one of them. However, I tried watching the first episode just to give it a try because there were some friends who bugged me to watch it, and I must say, I was hooked immediately! Storyline was by far, the greatest amongst all the anime I've watched... And then eventually, you'll also realize that the character design doesn't bother you anymore, in fact, you'll realized that there's a reason why the characters looked like that, and for me I thought, yeah! The character design suited their personality. Now I understand the creator why he designed the characters to look like that.

Meeting with the people you are going to be speaking to before you give your speech has several benefits. First, it warms them up to you. Second, it lets you gauge their sense of humor, which is particularly critical if you are a speaker that tends to let a curse word fly or uses bold and provocative stories or language. Finally, you can glean insights to incorporate into your presentation
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why suicide cases are increasing on: March 26, 2018, 11:19:12 AM
An understanding of suicide in the Indian context will call for a glance at the religious, social and cultural ethos of our country and considering how vast they are, I'll be giving you just the tip of the iceberg.
I'm not going to quote statistics for they are far more appalling than the fact that not much seems to be done to prevent suicides other than conducting surveys and studies to conjure up the magic numbers.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you going to pay taxes? on: March 10, 2018, 02:27:46 PM
I think about paying. Paying your taxes is considered a civic duty, although doing so is also a requirement of the law. If you do not pay your taxes, the government agency that oversees taxes — the Internal Revenue Service or IRS — will require you to pay your taxes or else face penalties, such as fines or going to jail.
9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The taboo of child marriages. on: February 20, 2018, 08:24:05 AM
When a girl starts coming of age, growing up, the evil eyes of the society instantly divert towards the physical change her body faces; no matter how inhumane that sounds, it is a harsh reality of our society that we seem to overlook. The pedophile nature of men in our society is something that has been sheltered and covered, hiding the taboo, whilst everyone knows the reality.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is education must-have nowdays? on: February 08, 2018, 07:40:46 PM
Education has an important place in our lives. Education allows us to connect the dots of the various pieces of information we gather and interpret it based on our own diaspora.  Formal education is one way to gain knowledge but the interaction with people and being critical and in the moment of what surrounds us allows application and the personal growth that creates a thoughtful person.
