4  Economy / Economics / Re: My Advice on Investing in Crypto on: October 06, 2018, 11:59:16 AM
I may not have had a wealth of experience when it comes to crypto investment. However, I know some things are very important before putting your money into crypto:

(1). All investment is all about taking risks, so crypto investment.  If you are afraid of taking risks, you might probably not have any investment in life.  So be ready to take some risks.

(2). Decide how much to invest in crypto - at a start, my advice is that "invest only the amount you are willing to lose" so that you won't be easily discouraged.

(3). Which kind of crypto you are interested in - as the determination of amount
you are willing to invest is important, so also the kind of crypto you want to invest in.  It is important to understand the fundamentals of a digital asset as this can play a major role in the level of risk involved.
It is also important to know how a coin or Initial Coin Offering (ICO) functions.

Also look at:
=>  The purpose of the crypto you are interested in
=>  How long it has been in the market
   =>  Its market capitalization
   =>  Its underlying tech solutions

NOTE: Cryptocurrencies that solve problems are less likely to fail than those that are essentially ICOs.
Also, the longer a cryptocurrency has been in the market, the more trusted it is.

(4).  Decide whether to go on a short or long term investment. This will help to determine the amount you want to invest.  But for a start, my advice is that do it 50/50 that, invest 50% of the mount on long term and the remaining 50% on short term.  This will enable you to gain some insights about which one that pays you.  It will also help to spread the risks across, so that you won't be putting your whole eggs in one basket.

NOTE: If your plan is to trade regularly (short term/very short term trade), then you need to do a lot of research and understand a lot of things about market trend.  Crypto market statistics matters a lot.

(5).  Have a strong trust in crypto you want to invest in.  With a strong belief or trust in something, it won't be difficult investing in such thing.

(6).  Take a look at the major crypto players so far - in any field, learning from the knowledge of predecessors can never hurt, but it can help.  Crypto investment is no exception.  I must tell you "everybody needs somebody"
The crypto market is so volatile and a small mistake could be detrimental.  If you know a trustworthy someone that has gone ahead in crypto biz, don't hesitate to consult such a person and I also want to recommend the 'Trading Discussion' under Economics board of this forum to you for proper guidance.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you prefer, bank or crypto? on: September 21, 2018, 10:19:54 AM
Bank or crypto? I think both of them have their advantages and disadvantages.
If I save in bank, I can have access to it at any time,I can withdraw my money at any time and my money might not increase but the amount will not reduce and if there is any problem(s), there is a financial insurance that covers my saving. However, the problem is that, the money will just there without appreciating, talking about operating savings account.
In the other hand, crypto has it's own limitations too: when you need money, the assets might have reduced and most importantly because it is decentralised, if any problem should happened for example loss of assets as a result of hacking, no one will be responsible.
What I used to do is that, I don't do rush investment in crypto, I only invest money that I know I don't need it in the next 3-6 months, then I also have little amount in bank that I used for my upkeep.
But what is the essence of money in bank that is not appreciating, why can't I rather invest 80% of it in crypto.
That's just my own ideology and it has been working for me.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties and Scam!! on: September 12, 2018, 05:38:47 AM
There are a lot of scams and shit bounties nowadays and this is really frustrating. Some people just gather themselves simply with aim of defrauding the investors and wasting efforts of the bounty hunters. We must choose carefully of any bounty we want to participate in.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WE MUST BELIEAVE IN CRYPTO MARKET! on: September 12, 2018, 05:35:10 AM
Our believe in crypto market is highly needed now. This is run really part of test of time and we must not give in to the test. The market seems not encouraging but we must hold on, not panic and believe it will definitely improve.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Alt market is testing you: Will you break! on: September 11, 2018, 07:27:11 AM
Never, I can never break. I know already that it's really a test of time. Holding on and patience is very important. This is not time for us to succumb to the test but the time to home and invest more if we have the ability.
Remember, quitters never win and winners never quit!!
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do when the market is weakening now on: September 10, 2018, 07:28:52 PM
What to do when the market is weakening:
1. Don't panic, it is a natural market force, it will moon again
2. Hodl your coins
3. Invest if you have the capacity, one of the best times to invest is when the market is down.
4. Be confident that the market will return to normalcy.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Panic selling. on: September 10, 2018, 07:23:49 PM
Panic selling is what has happened to a lot of people. I have observed this from two of my friends before. They sold almost all their coins just because of negative market speculation. Unfortunately they blamed themselves later. If at all you are going to sell, don't let it be under panic. Doing anything in panic can make one to take a lot of wrong steps or decisions especially at the present time when the market is down. Summon some courage and let's hope for improvement.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The market has recovered? on: September 10, 2018, 07:17:29 PM
From my perspective, the market has not recovered at all. I have not really seen any significant improvement in market status presently. However, that's is not an avenue for us to be panicking. Let's hodl and I believe the recovery is very near.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: encourage others to crypto on: September 10, 2018, 07:13:53 PM
Yes, I have been doing that to be best of my ability. I have introduced 8 of my friends to crypto. Two of them have even invested. I have organised a few meetings involving youths mostly in my church and environment to them at least my little knowledge of crypto and the benefit it has afforded me so far.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The longer the bounty, the fewer the earnings? on: September 10, 2018, 06:13:46 AM
Many at times, it's not true. The issue is that, it also depends on the number of active participants. If the bounty takes a long time, a lot of participants might have even forgotten participating in such bounty, so you can have many participants but few might be active. As a result of this, if the bounty manager want to do normal, the tokens allocated for that part of the bounty should be distributed among the few participants. However, some bounty manager do not do like that, they will just distribute some few tokens and burn the rest which is not suppose to be.
For me, I don't really like long time bounty, I quickly forget and lose interest and trust in such project.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you feel when you found out it was a SCAM? on: September 10, 2018, 06:06:39 AM
I felt very bad, discouraged, down, in fact I can't even totally expressed how sad I felt when I discovered not was a really scam.
For example, about two months ago, I participated in bounty campaign for more than three months with a lot of efforts. At the end of the day, tokens were distributed and we were told on their telegram community that the coin will be on exchange in the next one week then. What pained me most was that I didn't have money on me then but I have to borrow some amount to buy gas into my wallet so that I can send the token to friend that will help me sell.
All of a sudden, the project manger and his other team members were no where to be found till today. The useless token is still in my wallet till today.
I just cited one instance, there are a lot of instances like that both from airdrops and bounty campaigns. It got to a time I stopped participating in airdrops.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With how much should i start on: September 10, 2018, 05:56:51 AM
To me, there is no amount that is small let's say $100 upward depending on your capacity and how much you can take risk, because investment is all about taking risk. However, try and start on minimal level or if you have a lot to invest, try and spread it to three or four coins. Don't invest on just one coin. But if you start small, then you can expand your investment capacity and experience as times go by.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many think crypto is dead. It is not. on: September 10, 2018, 05:51:58 AM
Honestly that is the speculation of some people that crpto has gone especially with the situation of things presently.  That's is not true. A lot of forces and threats are actually against crypto but it is standing those forces. Crypto has developed to some extent and it can't just die like that.
Don't be discouraged by what some people are saying. Crypto is not dead at all.
