122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is crypto industry dangerous ? on: May 02, 2018, 10:58:50 PM
To me, everything in life is dangerous because there one or more risks in every step we take. Whether crypto industry is dangerous or not, the early adopters of this innovative technology are now enjoying the positive results of the risk they have taken few years ago. A lot of people that do not take the risk now by investing in crypto may have themselves blamed later.

125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the Crypto Community's problem with Bytecoin? on: April 10, 2018, 10:04:17 PM
Bytecoin allegedly forged the dates on their whitepaper(s) in order to make it appear as if they had completed a fair release.

Bytecoin creators may not have fairly given away their invention and instead, allegedly mined over 80% of their own coins before letting anyone in on their plans.

Bug in mining software allowed someone to mine unlimited Bytecoins. This was fixed (allegedly), but still, Bytecoin was accused of not taking action quickly enough.

Issues with Bytecoin wallet — It takes lot of time and sometimes days to sync the blokchain in the wallet hence it takes lot of time to even show the balance in the wallet.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Rewards: Sell immediately or HODL? on: April 10, 2018, 09:30:22 PM
It is not in my act to sell bounty rewards immediately because I know what can come out of it after a little time. However, if needs arise at least you have to use what you have to settle it. But, if there is not urgent or immediate needs, it is advisable to hold bounty rewards for some time.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Is Really A Good Investment or Not? on: April 10, 2018, 09:24:51 PM
To me, ICO is a good investment if it is carefully selected. If you invest in ICO of successful projects, in a couple of months you will have a great reward to reap. Imagine how happy would those people that invested in the ICO of ETH, Ripple, Litecoin and some other top altcoins would have been now.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your Altcoins? on: April 10, 2018, 08:53:44 PM
Yes I'm holding my altcoins especially the ones I got through bounty campaigns because I know they are going to appreciate and I don't want to regret selling them at the cheapest price just like some of my friends who sold his coins at $0.9, 6 weeks later, the coin rose to $5.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guidelines when choosing an exchange on: April 09, 2018, 05:38:48 PM
What country is the exchange located in?  Knowing your country and where the exchange is based out of is important, as laws and regulations can vary country to country. Buying bitcoin in your home country is typically recommended.

How can the coins be purchased?  Can you pay with wire transfer, cash, credit cards, PayPal, and so on.

Exchange fees. You will want to make sure that the exchange fees are within reason and aren’t exorbitant compared to the rest of the market.

Order book volume. Most exchanges with a decent customer base will publish their order book. An order book is simply a list of buy and sell orders on the exchange that are being offered. A higher volume order book is an indicator that people are using the exchange and the exchange has liquidity.

Is the exchange transparent?  Exchanges that are fully transparent will publish cold storage addresses or audit information on how to verify their coin reserves.

How quickly will you get the coins after buying or selling them?  This may vary person-to-person, but it’s good to know how long before the coin will be sent out or send to you after sell or purchase.

Security is paramount   Knowing the exchange is secure is very important and shouldn’t be overlooked. Is the exchange site HTTPS or HTTP? For it to have a secure protocol it must be HTTPS. Does the exchange offer secure logins along with two-factor authentication (2FA)? These are just a couple things to think about before selecting an exchange.

Is the exchange reputable?  This is an important question that can only be answered by discussing it with your peers. If you want to make sure the exchange has good customer reviews, search for feedback about the exchange on internet forums such as the Bitcoin Reddit or the Bitcoin Forum. If you can’t find any feedback about it, ask in those forums if your peers have used it and what their experience was.

Avoiding fraud: Not becoming a victim should be a high priority. This means avoiding any scam exchanges that are designed to steal from you.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is whale on: April 09, 2018, 05:07:08 PM
Whales are powerful investors that have a big impact. They have so much money in cryptocurrencies that they can alternate the market.  They are probably the innovators and very early adopters of bitcoin and few altcoins.
An individual is considered a whale when he is powerful enough to change the value of a coin in a colossal amount. When you see an extreme and sudden jump on the chart of your coin, it is for sure that there are one or more whales together influencing the value.
They are the alpha and omega of the crypto market price.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Airdrops Profitable? on: April 09, 2018, 04:43:57 PM
The issue of airdrop is a coin of two sides. You can get some that are profitable and likewise get some that are thrash. Airdrops are a great way to collect free coins. I even know someone who has collected $150 worth of airdrops and invested all of it in useful cryptocurrencies, Today he has a portfolio of about $1200 without investing a single penny.
It make sense to get crypto from airdrop because you are not investing single penny but you can get coins worth of thousands.
So whether it is profitable or not, since you are not investing any money as such, you might probably jam airdrops that will transform your life forever.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OmiseGo on: April 08, 2018, 10:25:00 PM
This is a very good and promising coin. I'm very glad I invested in that coin. As at the time of this post, it is listed on number 21 on cmc. It's unfortunate I didn't have much of it. All the same, I'm happy with the little I have and I planned holding it for a long time.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your plans for the year 2018 on: April 08, 2018, 09:55:27 PM
My plans are:
To trade more altcoins
To participate in more profitable bounty campaigns
To spend more quality time on my bitcoin talk account so that I can move to higher ranks.
To start my postgraduate studies
Among other things.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty or Airdrop? on: April 08, 2018, 09:38:43 PM
I still prefer bounties to airdrops.  There are great possibilities of getting good coins from a carefully selected bounties and you might not need to wait for a very long time before such coins pays off. In other hand many airdrops are just thrash coins that many of them cannot even enter exchange market let a lone competing there. Some that enters few exchange markets takes a very long time before they can pay off.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A new way to earn cryptocurrency without investing? on: April 08, 2018, 09:15:32 PM
To me I don't think there is absolute free way of earning crypto. What can be called free ways are:
Through bounty campaigns or
Through airdrops
However, these two even involved a lot of work before you can earn token especially bounty campaigns. It involves a lot of work and dedication. Most of the tokens through airdrop are just thrash.
So I don't think there is a total free way of earning crypto for now.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The first earnings in the crypto currency. Where did you spend it on? on: April 08, 2018, 08:40:51 PM
My first earning on cryptocurrency, I spent it on obtaining international passport. I'm using bittrex as exchange market, I was about to sell some of coins, then the bittrex siad I need to verify my account with either, national identity card or driver's licence or international passport. I didn't have any of these, so decided to get international passport which I though it would be more useful than the other two. So, a friend of mine help me sell so e of his coins and later transferred it back to me when my account t was verified. That was how I spent my first earning in crypto.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty and too many participants on: April 02, 2018, 10:04:16 PM
Bounty and too many participants! That is one of the major challenges of bounty campaign now. However, many of these participants are nor serious and dedicated to the campaign thereby making the spreadsheet unnecessarily filled up. The moment some people notice large number on the spreadsheet, the are discouraged in participating in such campaign because they believe that the tokens will be shares among multitude rather than little people.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Girls in the world of crypto currency on: March 06, 2018, 10:22:30 PM
Girls in the world of cryptocurrency might not be common before. Now, we have this is not the case, there are girls in the world of cryptocurrency across the globe.  Japan has a new cryptocurrency-themed girl band (Bicoin babes).  Girls are now developing interests in the world of cryptocurrency.

Portugal has its own national cryptocurrency by the name CryptoEscudo (CESC) which is named after the pre-Euro currency of Portugal.

140  Other / Archival / Re: Why to Invest in ICO? on: March 06, 2018, 09:38:38 PM
When you invest in an ICO it's worth what it's worth! If a project collects 5000 bitcoins, it's worth 5000 bitcoins. They have that hard value and from now on it can only grow, right? So the first benefit of an ICO is that it's really unlikely to be worth less when it hits exchanges. The only exception is when the amount held by creators is unproportionally bigger than the amount offered to investors.
