Maybe I missed it, but what are the future plans of this coin? Any upcoming updates in the (near) future that are worth sharing, or might even attract new investors?
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: July 25, 2015, 10:14:53 PM

In Bytecoin 1.0.6 we are introducing multi-addressing for RPC Wallet to get rid of payment IDs. It is a genuine multi-addressing, not a payment ID included into the address.

From CryptoNote protocol perspective, you have to scan each output with your private keys to learn about an incoming transaction. This poses a challenge for the service that generates a number of addresses as under current crypto protocol this would imply that each output should be scanned for each address which is resource consuming and non-viable on large scale.

Our new approach performs a magic trick (I'll intentionally leave it like this before the release) that allows such a verification to be performed much easier regardless of how many addresses the service has created.

You may expect Bytecoin 1.0.6 release next week, and we'll be covering it in details in our blog.

"next week".
Today (Sunday) is the last day of the mentioned week, right? Curiously waiting for the details about Bytecoin v1.0.6.

@Rolihlahla
Any news about being listed on Bittrex?
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | SPV WALLET IN TESTING on: July 25, 2015, 09:19:53 PM
Is bitcreditscc still with us? It's been over a week since his last post.

Just checking! Smiley

By the way, I'm really curious to see when the 'new' wallet is ready and how it looks like. Have the bugs been crushed so far?

https://github.com/bitcreditscc?tab=activity

- He's a worker.  Smiley   There's a bunch of architectural stuff to get in place for the bid-based distribution system and blockchain assets (coloured coins.)

Not sure what new wallet you mean, but the last few QT builds I've done from the rc branch haven't needed me to delete the mncache before starting it up. I'm on linux, can't comment on Windows. The electrum client/server still needs a bit of work before it's ready for primetime.
Stupid me! I have the Github link right here, just forgot to check it.. But you're right, there sure is a lot of activity which is a good sign! Smiley As for the Electrum client, curious to see it in action.

Again, if there's any testing that needs to be done, or anything I can help with: Hit me up in PM! Glad to be of service!  Smiley

guys is there a hidden nvidia windows miner for this its been ages since i asked for it and no one reply
I don't really understand the question. Could you elaborate?

ill hold for a bit longer, you never sent me a pm back about masternodes Cheesy
Oh shit you're right.. Sorry, I thought I already sent a reply. PM'ing you right now! Smiley

The Hashpay banner competition has also been abandoned https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1124973.msg11888876#msg11888876

Volume on Bittrex is down to 0.23BTC
Yup. Unless the dev is trying to buy cheap by acting as if he's gone, who knows.. Tongue Ah well, time will tell!
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HashPay - Mine and help support the price. HashPayPool.com ONLINE! on: July 25, 2015, 08:43:48 PM
I'm out on this coin for now pending any updates or news from the dev.

I'll continue to hold and stake but I'm not mining anymore. Kind of sad if it turns out the dev has abandoned this coin as its the first coin I've seen in some time that seemed to have potential.

Still no reply from dev to PM's so its definitely looking like this ones a dud.
Agreed.

Giving up on this coin as well, too bad.

I have no clue what this dev is up to, but avoid this coin for your own good.

No response in his own topic, whatever the reason may be. Anyone tried to contact him?
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HashPay - Mine and help support the price. HashPayPool.com ONLINE! on: July 20, 2015, 05:04:48 PM
I'm not trying to FUD or create panic, but a dev of a brand new coin getting silent this early usually is a red flag.

Check out his profile [HashPay] and see his last active status. Last Active: Today at 00:40:33, yet he hasn't posted anything in his own topic for 2 days. In that same time period several dumps of 50k+ HAP (~1.4BTC) have happened, along with some smaller dumps.

Seen this a lot before, best is to wait for a next update to be pushed by the dev. If trust is already becoming an issue, this coin will be going nowhere. Whatever the reason may be, be careful with investing in this coin.

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | SPV WALLET IN TESTING on: July 17, 2015, 05:01:38 PM
The electrum client is clearly connecting to available servers but it isn't pulling the headers from them (or the server isn't pushing them out) - no idea why yet.

edit: bitcreditscc figured it out, by RTFM'ing... you need a www in front of your server...  Cheesy

Electrum-BCR lives.  Smiley
Nice.. Congratulations guys, awesome job! Smiley

The release of a BCR-Electrum client is considered as a (small) milestone?
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: July 17, 2015, 08:04:10 AM
Where can I download a wallet since sourceforge is down?

We've temporary put the files on our servers. Check out the downloads page: https://bytecoin.org/downloads/

Excellent, thank you.
Sigh.. Let me guess, another BCN promoter/sock-puppet account? Makes sense now why Ullo made a new topic regarding Bytecoin, this one seems unmoderated.

Any word on having ChainCoin on Bittrex? Looks like an interesting project. Anything else known about the Masternodes system besides a launch date?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | NEW BANKNODES | UPDATE 6/15/15 on: July 15, 2015, 04:16:30 PM
I am still looking into the wallet crashes , so far it is slow work.

meanwhile i wanted to bring your attention to the recent drop in hashrate from ~ 3 KH to less than 1 KH.

This caused massive disruptions in block creation and tx processing , while our problem was more pronounced , this phenomenon has been observed in even the most established PoW coins. Many people have tried to fix this issue with varying results. I' sure some of you have heard of  TaPos, DPoS, PoS , Delegated mining and other solutions.

We have come up with a solution already for our system and am still in consultation over some areas. It's time to evolve and shed the skin that holds us back.

I will write one of those rare pointers to detail what comes next.
Might be obvious, but how about reproducing the wallet crash on different types of systems? Maybe it's related to a specific architecture (x86 or x64) or Windows version. (Windows 8 or 8.1) Hit me up on Skype if you need/want help debugging the wallet.

Anyways, curious to hear what the solution of the block creation and tx processing issues will be.

Could be too early for this question, but is there any roadmap available or some sort of future plans overview? A friend of mine (possible BCR investor) is really curious to see where this project is going.

I've been following LIMX for several weeks now. What exactly is being developed here? The price randomly jumps up and down every now and then while the volume is very low.

Is there any roadmap available or perhaps some future plans the developers can share with us? What are the goals of this coin?

The DASH security audit was cloud funded.  Continued steady progress down the development path will make it easier to cloud fund one for Nav.
Very  impressed with the  the  way the  cloud funding  was done.
It definitely requires some organisation and trust from the community.

By the way, what's cloud funding? I think you mean crowdfunding? "Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people, typically via the internet." ~Wikipedia
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAVAJO COIN - NEW ROADMAP ● ANONYMOUS TECH. ● CHAT ● on: July 14, 2015, 01:11:13 PM
Ok so I read the code can  be  revealed in the above scenario. This has many implications to security. I know security is  an extremely high  priority for the Navajocoin Anonymous Development team. The other  alternative is to get an expensive third party verification of  the  code and then have 0 masternodes. Then the other alternative is   reveal the code and Free verification as many can tweak the code for  their masternode setup it  can be verified by any third party. Witch solves a problem of trust in the  system in a Anonymous transaction overall . I hope  i make since

Regardless the implementation is going to make a huge difference to daily  volume dependent on what is chosen. It could be already finished or just starting only they know  On the other hand this could be a new birth of new code in how  Masternodes run that is tweakable but only exclusive to how  Navajocoin  works  and  only  compatible with Navajo Coin. This is why I started this topic on this  forum this is what I  personally think about in my next  round of investing. The  decisions of implimentation will  influence what I do.Thats why im relaxed but excited as well. Please  continue this topic as its  very  important to ultimate daily volume

Also please let me know of im right or wrong totally in the write direction or wrong . Just dont stay silent ......
You're right, this sure brings a lot of security risks as the whole wide world is able to find bugs/vulnerabilities in the code and abuse them. To prevent this from happening DASH (previously known as Darkcoin) underwent a thorough security audit by a professional security consultant named Kristov Atlas before going open source. Go ahead and take a look at the results of the DASH (Darkcoin) code review.

So whether the NAV team decides to use the DASH source code and alter it, use another alternative, or write their own code from scratch, a thorough security audit of the code is always highly advisable before even thinking about going open source. With that in mind, doing so will require some effort from the community in terms of a fundraiser. Security audits are not for free, in fact they cost quite some money.

Development and code review are only a small portion of realizing a Masternode system, there's much more to it than just writing and reviewing code. If this whole process of creating a Masternode system is properly and carefully executed, and is especially well thought out I'm confident this coin has a chance to become a direct competitor with some of the top anon coins out there.

Curious to see what the outcome of this will be, keep up the good work!

I thank you for the address that was given, the dash's whitepaper was an interesting read.

Here as a reference it is the text part that concerns the formula for the ROI of a masternode:

Quote
Due to the fact that the Masternode rewards program is a fixed percentage and the
Masternode network nodes are fluctuating, expected Masternode rewards will vary according
to the current total count of active Masternodes. Payments for a standard day for running a
Masternode can be calculated by using the following formula:

  (n/t) * r  * b * a

Where:
n is the number of Masternodes an operator controls
t is the total number of Masternodes
r is the current block reward (presently averaging about 5 DASH)
b is blocks in an average day. For the Dash network this usually is 576.
a is the average Masternode payment (45% of the average block amount)

Return on investment for running a Masternode can be calculated as

((n/t) * r * b * a * 365) / 1000

Where variables are the same as above.

But please be patient, there is still the initial question that is not clear to me:
from what I understand, the DASH miners have to pay 45% of what they earn for each
block found to masternode. But Dash is a coin purely POW, while Nav now is purely POS.

This means that the reward for masternodes will come from a cut of the POS reward of all?

Please tell me that I was wrong.

Bye Bye

I think you're one step ahead of the whole Masternode thing. DASH made their source code open source, so anyone can use and alter the DASH Masternode source code to their liking. So it's completely dependant on how the NAV team will implement Masternodes, if they're even going to use the DASH source code at all or write something themselves from scratch. Right now I believe it's a bit too early to discuss the implementation of Masternodes, we don't have enough information on that topic yet.

But you definitely got a point there. Will be interesting to see how the NAV team is going to surprise us. Smiley

Sorry for my repetitive question, but has there been any progression on the wallet? I'm barely able to start the current version of the wallet on Win 8.1 x64, it rarely launches but only after trying about ~50 times. Problem is that I'm unable to transfer the ~500k BCR from Bittrex to my wallet... Besides it's quite a scary thought sending that amount of BCR to a 'broken' wallet.

Hope the wallet issue is fixed soon, keep up the good work!

Very sorry guys , real life has slowed work the last couple of days. I was in the middle of a deep testing period of the wallet trying to pin point the issues. I'm back at it and will post results soon.
You sure are a work-a-holic.. Shocked Take it easy, real life is important as well. However, the effort you're putting into this coin is highly appreciated! Much respect and a big thank you! Smiley

If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.
